Chapter 54 The Deadly Travel Group (18)

To be honest, Xiao Cheng couldn't quite understand the strange man's gentleness.

Seeing him charging towards her with a utility knife in hand, Xiao Cheng raised the stick in her hand with imposing momentum.

"It's not your fault you're ugly, but it's wrong of you to come out and scare people!"

The wooden stick made a whooshing sound as it flew through the air, the nail at its tip heading straight for the strange man with overwhelming force.

But the strange man neither dodged nor avoided it, and instead swung his utility knife with a sinister smile.

Before Xiao Cheng's incredulous eyes, the wooden stick was chopped in half like tofu and fell to the ground with a clatter.

"Holy crap! This thing is a utility knife?!"

She immediately threw away the broken stick in her hand, dodged the blade, and before the strange man could stop, she nimbly grabbed his arm.

Fang He raised his hand tacitly, grabbed the tendon on his wrist with two fingers, and cut the utility knife off with a little force.

At the same time, Xiao Cheng tripped the strange man with a sweeping leg kick, and then smoothly threw him over his shoulder.

"So you're here to deliver equipment?" Xiao Cheng pressed him firmly to the ground and sneered, "Tell me, who exactly are you?"

The strange man completely gave up resistance, lying pathetically in the puddle, tilting his head back in despair, his laughter almost a cry: "You can't get out! You're destined to be stuck here!"

At the other end of the street, in the direction Xu Chu was heading, suddenly came a man's agonizing screams and cries for help.

The two sounds blended together, sending chills down one's spine.

The rain intensified, and at some point, the rainwater began to take on a very faint red hue.

It looked like it had been mixed with blood.

This is not a good sign.

Fang He frowned, reached out and pulled off the black cloak from the strange man, covering Xiao Cheng from head to toe.

"What?" Xiao Cheng pulled down her oversized hood, looking at him with a puzzled expression. "If there's a problem with the rain, aren't you going to use it?"

Fang He didn't say anything. He half-squatted down, took Xiao Cheng's place, controlled the strange man's arm with one hand, and then used his knee to press hard against his back.

The strange man suddenly began to writhe uneasily, his eyes filled with terror, and he made strange gurgling sounds in his throat.

"You can't, you can't..." He realized Fang He's intention and struggled desperately like a madman.

But it was all in vain.

Fang He calmly twisted his neck and then gripped the utility knife he had just intercepted.

With a swift stroke, the knife fell, killing instantly.

Blood gushed from the cut, and a hissing sound came from the monster's severed throat. His gaze gradually became unfocused, and his whole body began to convulse violently.

"Fang He, you..." Xiao Cheng was shocked by his actions and stood there somewhat at a loss. The blood flowed all the way to her feet and was gradually diluted by the rain.

Fang He did not respond. He gently released the strange man, and in a half-squatting position, he chuckled and leaned close to his ear, whispering, "Sleep, have a sweet dream in your painting."

Then he slowly stood up and waited in place until the strange man completely died. Then, as if suddenly realizing something, he dragged a large, heavy board from the roadside.

The wooden planks rubbed against the ground, making a teeth-grinding sound.

Fang He kicked the strange man's limp arm: "Are you cold?" His tone actually revealed a hint of concern. "It's my fault, I forgot to cover you with a blanket."

After saying that, he raised his hand and slammed the board down hard. Large gushes of blood flowed out from under the board, pooling into a large pool of blood.

"...Fang He?"

Xiao Cheng sensed that something was off about him, so she cautiously leaned over and tentatively poked the back of his hand.

I don't know if it's because of the rain, but it seems even colder than before.

Fang He was startled and, as if by reflex, stabbed at the utility knife with his other hand.

The knife tip stopped abruptly before it touched Xiao Cheng. He turned around as if waking from a dream, put the hand holding the utility knife behind his back, and took two steps back without making a sound, widening the distance between himself and Xiao Cheng.

"...What's wrong?" His voice sounded a little dry.

Xiao Cheng stared at his slightly reddened eyes, certain that something was wrong, and asked in a serious tone, "Fang He, it's my turn to ask, what's wrong with you?"

Fang He lowered his eyes, awkwardly avoiding her gaze: "I'm fine."

Then he sheathed the utility knife and handed it to Xiao Cheng: "Take it, it's more useful than a wooden stick."

Red rain fell on his face, trickling down like diluted blood.

Xiao Cheng took the utility knife, looked at the mess on the ground, and forced herself to temporarily ignore her inner unease.

"Let's get out of here as soon as possible," she said. "That was Number 7's voice just now. Let's go back and meet up with Xu Chu."

Fang He did not object to her arrangement and silently followed behind her.

Xiao Cheng consciously quickened her pace, her increasingly hurried footsteps echoing in the empty street.

Pat-pat, pat-pat.

"Clatter".

Xiao Cheng paused, then belatedly turned around to look.

A worn-out paintbrush fell out of the black cloak and landed right in a puddle.

The pale pink water stained the few remaining bristles of the paintbrush, turning into pigment that grew deeper and more vibrant until it finally became a pure red.

Xiao Cheng picked up the paintbrush.

Snap.

A drop of red paint dripped from the brush and spread across the ground, like a flower blooming.

Then Xiao Cheng discovered that there really was a red flower sprouting from the ground.

Xiao Cheng was shocked: "Ma Liang with his magic paintbrush?!"

Then she quickly drew a few strokes and painted a raincoat for Fang He that was so long it dragged on the ground.

Fang He looked at the raincoat with slight disdain: "It's so ugly."
