Chapter 74 Goodbye He Jun

When they returned to the palace, Shi Mingyue brought the little duck to Pippi's cage. When Pippi saw the little yellow duck being carefully cared for in her hands, the whole bird almost went crazy, jumping up and down in the cage and speaking, which scared Shi Mingyue and Fu Yueli.

"I'm so pissed! I'm so pissed!"

"When did you learn this sentence?" Shi Mingyue asked in surprise.

A voice came from behind, "I taught you, how is it?"

They looked back and saw that the people coming were Lu Lingyan and Lu Lingjing.

"Why did you teach it this sentence?" Fu Yueli said helplessly.

Lu Lingyan looked very proud: "Lingjing is so stupid that she can't teach this bird to talk, so I took action myself. How is it? It works well, right?"

"If you want to teach, teach something good, like reading numbers, reciting poems or something like that." Shi Mingyue was helpless. The word "I'm so angry" was not pleasant to say.

Lu Lingyan shook his head quickly: "That's so boring. Let me tell you, I fed it nuts this afternoon. I pretended to throw them out, and it stupidly ran to pick them up. When it found there were none, it got so angry that it came back and tried to bite me."

Shi Mingyue asked, "So that's all you taught it?"

"Yes, look how fast it learns." Lu Lingyan said proudly.

Shi Mingyue and Fu Yueli were speechless. Lu Lingjing's eyes lit up when she saw the little yellow duck in Shi Mingyue's hand. "Let me hold it for a while."

Shi Mingyue gave her the little yellow duck and turned to look at Pippi. Pippi was no longer making a fuss. Instead, he turned his back to them, looking quite lonely.

"Tsk, it's not like your parents don't want you anymore. They just found you a brother? Or a sister? Oh, never mind. Are you so angry that you're going to die?" Lu Lingyan walked up to the cage, smiled, and poked Pipi.

Pipi turned around and wanted to bite his finger, but Lu Lingyan dodged in time and it didn't bite him. It was so angry that it cursed: "I'm so angry! I'm so angry!"

Seeing that it was really angry, Shi Mingyue quickly asked Hongyin to get some delicious nuts.

Lu Lingjing was quite dissatisfied with her brother: "Brother, can't you say less?"

Lu Lingyan retired after accomplishing his mission, which only made Pipi even more unhappy.

Hongyin brought nuts, and Shi Mingyue asked her to take the little yellow duck away, and then opened the door of Pippi's cage. Unexpectedly, Pippi flew out all of a sudden, flew over the roof and disappeared.

Shi Mingyue and Fu Yueli were too late to react. Seeing that it had truly disappeared, Shi Mingyue said anxiously, "What should we do? I didn't expect it to be so aggressive. Will it never come back?"

Fu Yueli didn't know either, and comforted her: "It's okay. After all, you've raised it for a long time and you've developed feelings for it. I'll send someone out to look for it now." After he said that, he went to arrange for someone to look for the parrot.

Lu Lingjing patted Lu Lingyan and said, "Why don't you help find it?"

Lu Lingyan felt that he was innocent, but he didn't know that the parrot was so angry and even tried to run away from home like a human.

After searching all night and day without seeing the parrot, they concluded that Pipi had simply run away in anger. Cockatoos have a hard time surviving in the wild, so they feared it had been killed by a feral cat.

Shi Mingyue was in the yard, watching the little yellow duck running around happily on the ground. She felt very complicated. Because of it, Pipi ran away from home in anger. But she couldn't take her anger out on the little duck. She also blamed her for her behavior. She wanted to find a companion for Pipi, but she didn't consider Pipi's feelings at all.

Fu Yueli and Lu Lingyan both went to the Ministry of Rites, leaving only her and Lu Lingjing in the mansion. No one knew where Lu Lingjing had gone this morning and she was not in the mansion.

She saw the duckling had played long enough, so she put it back in the cage. Just as she was about to go back to read, Lu Lingjing came over: "There's news about Pipi!"

"Really? Where is it?" Shi Mingyue was quite excited.

Lu Lingjing said happily, "I heard someone saw a parrot at Ningguo Temple listening very attentively to a monk's sermon, and the parrot they described was completely white!"

Shi Mingyue and Lu Lingjing immediately set off for Ningguo Temple. As soon as they arrived, they asked a monk where the parrot that listened to the monk's lectures was.

The monk was very surprised. He didn't expect that so many people would be interested in this parrot that liked to listen to sutras. He directed the two to go to Baoshu Temple.

The two of them went to Baoshu Temple. As they walked outside the courtyard wall, they could hear the voice of a monk preaching. The voice was quite magnetic and had a bit of bewitching meaning.

Shi Mingyue recognized the voice as He Jun.

When you walk to the round gate, you can see many believers sitting neatly on the ground inside, listening to a monk preaching on the stone platform.

The monk was indeed He Jun, now known as Master Jun He. And the snow-white parrot the passerby had mentioned was actually Pi Pi, who was perched on He Jun's lap, listening to his lecture with rapt attention.

Lu Lingjing pulled Shi Mingyue, and the two of them sat down quietly at the back of the team, preparing to finish the lecture and take Pippi away.

He Jun was indeed a highly accomplished monk with profound knowledge of Buddhism. He explained the Diamond Sutra very thoroughly, allowing the believers below to understand it without being distracted.

Shi Mingyue and Lu Lingjing also began to listen to his explanation.

Before they knew it, the lecture was over and the believers left reluctantly.

Shi Mingyue and Lu Lingjing walked over. When Pipi saw her, he still didn't want to pay attention to her.

"Long time no see." He Jun let the parrot stand on his hand, then stood up.

He stood on the platform, much taller than the two of them, facing the light, and suddenly had a look of looking down on everyone.

"Master, the parrot in your hand is actually raised by me." Shi Mingyue said without any confidence. After all, Pippi still didn't want to pay attention to her.

He Jun walked down the stairs slowly and smiled: "Really? This is fate. Yesterday, when I was giving a lecture, he was listening to me."

Shi Mingyue wondered if Pipi was really so interested in Buddhism? Could it understand?

"But, since it's your parrot, why did it fly to me?" He Jun asked with interest.

Shi Mingyue was very embarrassed: "Because I raised a duck, so it ran away from home."

He Jun understood and said, "Is that so?" He looked at the parrot and spoke softly, patiently persuading it, "Look, you're making your caring owner worry about you out of jealousy. This is wrong. She also came here specifically to find you. What should you do?"

Shi Mingyue and Lu Lingjing were surprised to see him admonishing a parrot so patiently. They thought that whether Pippi could understand or not was one thing, but He Jun was too serious.

Unexpectedly, after hearing what He Jun said, Pipi hesitated for a moment, flew to Shi Mingyue's shoulder, and rubbed her hair with her head.

"This..." Shi Mingyue was surprised that He Jun's words actually worked. Pipi was no longer angry and was willing to be close to her again. She hurriedly thanked He Jun: "Thank you, Master."

He Jun smiled faintly and reminded: "Animals also have emotions, but they can't speak like humans, so they need to be carefully cared for."

Shi Mingyue promised, "I will."

When she left, she was only concerned about Pippi and did not notice that Lu Lingjing kept looking back and her eyes were clearly infatuated with He Jun. She also did not expect that such a regrettable thing would happen in the future.
