One Hundred and Sixth

Wu Tan only provided a map. To be on the safe side, Fu Yueli asked Helian Yizhuo to accompany them to the underground ancient city as a hostage.

A soldier who had been to the ancient city before led the others to the ancient city. The journey was not easy. The climate in the desert changed greatly within a day. It was hot during the day and the temperature dropped sharply at night.

Shi Mingyue once followed Xu Ziling through the Ulan Buk Desert in that dream, but in the dream they were only looking for the core and did not go to any underground ancient city.

The sun was high in the sky, scorching the sand like a giant steamer. Shi Mingyue and the others were hot and thirsty. They drank a few sips of water, but soon they were thirsty again. But water was rationed, so everyone was extremely frugal.

It finally got dark. Shi Mingyue and Fu Yueli slept in the same tent. It was very cold at night. Fu Yueli hugged her and tried his best to keep her warm.

The tent was pitch black. Shi Mingyue was so close to him that she could hear Fu Yueli's breathing close to her ear. This situation inevitably reminded her of the scene in her dream, when the strong wind destroyed the tent and she and Xu Ziling went into the tent to rest with Fu Yueli.

But at that time, there was a distance between the two of them, and Fu Yueli would not be too close to her.

"Why haven't you slept yet?" Fu Yueli's voice suddenly rang out in the quiet tent.

Shi Mingyue wasn't frightened, because Fu Yueli's voice was not loud, but very gentle. She asked curiously, "How did you know I wasn't asleep?" It was so dark, and she had her eyes closed, so how did he know?

"I've been sleeping in the same bed with you for so long, how could I not know whether you are asleep or not, so what are you thinking about?" Fu Yueli said softly.

Shi Mingyue thought this reason was very reasonable, and after thinking about it, she told him about her dream.

After listening to this, Fu Yueli said thoughtfully: "I think what you experienced was not a dream, but reality."

"Although I also feel that it really happened, I clearly fell asleep, and then woke up and was with you by the lake." Shi Mingyue was puzzled.

Fu Yueli said: "The core does exist, and miracles do exist. Perhaps your spirit has arrived in that time and space."

"Maybe." Shi Mingyue thought for a long time and thought this was the most likely possibility.

Fu Yueli patted her back and said softly, "Okay, go to sleep. We still have to continue our journey tomorrow."

The next morning, the team continued its journey.

The team was very quiet along the way, and no one spoke. Speaking would consume energy and make one thirsty, so everyone consciously maintained silence.

It was noon, and the team stopped to rest. Shi Mingyue and Fu Yueli sat together. Fu Yueli handed her a water bag and said, "Drink."

Shi Mingyue didn't dare drink more. They had to save water, so she only drank two sips and said to Fu Yueli, "You drink it."

Fu Yueli shook her head, her expression very serious: "Drink more."

"No, I'm not thirsty."

"You were the one who said you had to listen to me once we entered the desert. Then I asked you to drink more water. Why didn't you listen?" Fu Yueli frowned.

Shi Mingyue knew that he was angry, so she quickly took the water bag and gulped down several big gulps.

Fu Yueli's expression finally softened. "Your constitution is weaker than ours, so you can't be frugal with food, otherwise you won't be able to keep up with your physical strength. And I don't need you to save water for me, these are all prepared for you."

Shi Mingyue understood what he meant and nodded, "I understand."

At this time, Helian Yizhuo, who was sitting on the sand to rest not far away, saw the scene here and showed a thoughtful expression.

They continued camping in the desert that night. Shi Mingyue and Fu Yueli slept in the tent. She had already fallen asleep when she was awakened by a strong gust of wind. The wind outside the tent sounded like the howling of ghosts and wolves, and it seemed to be uprooting the entire tent. It was terrifying. It inevitably reminded her of the night in her dream when the strong wind blew away the tent.

At this moment, the sound of weapons clashing was heard outside again, and Shi Mingyue almost immediately sat up alertly.

Fu Yueli also got up. He had been sleeping with his clothes on. He picked up the sword beside him, turned around and pressed Shi Mingyue's shoulder: "It's right here, don't move, I'll go out and take a look."

Shi Mingyue nodded heavily, thinking that the noise might have been made by Helian Yizhuo and the team leader.

Fu Yueli quickly opened the curtain and went out. The moment the curtain was raised, the wind and sand rushed in. The curtain was lowered, blocking the strong wind and sand from the outside. Shi Mingyue took out the dagger she carried with her and moved closer, listening to the movements outside.

Besides the howling of ghosts and wolves in the wind and the clashing of weapons, there were also the roars of people. She wondered what was happening outside. Just as she was about to pry open a small crack to see what was happening, she suddenly felt a strong sense of evil. She hurriedly stepped back. The curtain was lifted. The silhouette of the person in the night was not Fu Yueli. If she was not mistaken, he was Helian Yizhuo.

"Come out!" Helian Yizhuo shouted!

Shi Mingyue pointed the dagger at him, and Helian Yizhuo came in to take the knife from her hand. Shi Mingyue gripped the knife tightly and stabbed him, but Helian Yizhuo was not injured at all. He quickly grabbed her wrist and with a little force, the knife fell from Shi Mingyue's hand.

"Come out!" Helian Yizhuo dragged her out without mercy.

When Fu Yueli rushed back, he saw Helian Yizhuo dragging Shi Mingyue out of the tent. When Helian Yizhuo saw him coming, he immediately grabbed Shi Mingyue's neck with one hand and threatened: "You dare to come over!"

"Helian Yizhuo! Are you looking for death?" Fu Yueli said angrily, "If you let her go now, I can give you a way out!"

Helian Yizhuo said proudly: "I knew this woman was very important to you. Do you think I will believe your lies? If I let her go, you will kill me in the blink of an eye."

Fu Yueli swore immediately: "I, Fu Yueli, will keep my word and will never break it! If you let her go, I will never kill you!"

How could Helian Yizhuo possibly believe him, but he deliberately said, "Then let them stop first."

Not far away, two groups of people were fighting fiercely. Wu Tan clearly only had one guide and Helian Yizhuo. The sudden appearance of Wu Tan soldiers seemed to be Helian Yizhuo's premeditated plan to have these people follow him all the way.

Fu Yueli then shouted to those people: "Stop!"

After hearing this shout, everyone really stopped and then retreated to their respective camps.

Fu Yueli said: "Let her go, and I will let you go. I mean what I say."

Helian Yizhuo snorted and said in a very unmannerly manner, "Dream on! Fu Yueli, you've taken our Fuhua City. Unless you exchange Fuhua City for it, you also want the Emperor of Zhao to personally write an official document stating that he will never attack Wutan again, and announce it to the world."
