Chapter 286 Temple Treasure

The human and the cat left the Kingdom of Destiny, their bodies slowly rising from the seabed, where they were spotted by a pair of eyes present.

Unexpectedly, a magical phenomenon like "manifesting life" could occur underwater. Passersby exclaimed in surprise, "Ah! Ah?"

"cousin?"

Phil Gray looked at the man, a hint of surprise in his eyes: "Patrick?"

"By the God of Fate, cousin, what are you doing here? Weren't you at the Church of the Dead?" Patrick rubbed his short gray hair and pounced on him.

Phil Gray gave him a hug, patted him on the back, and said with a smile, "It is said that the treasure of the pirate queen is in the underwater city here. The fourth pen I am looking for may be here, so I came here. I was also a little worried about you coming here alone. I thought I would have to go through a lot of trouble to find you, but I didn't expect you to deliver yourself to my door."

“This must be the guidance of fate! I was lost here, but I sensed a powerful fluctuation of divine power of fate coming from your side, so I came to see what was going on.”

Patrick then looked at the night and asked with a grin, "Lord Night! Have you been eating and sleeping well these past few days?"

Hei Ye glanced at his little brother, whom he hadn't seen in a long time, and simply nodded his cat head arrogantly.

“Alright, finding the treasure is the priority now.” Phil Gray took out the map that the sisters had given him. Since Victor hadn’t asked for it back earlier, now was the perfect time to put it to use.

After careful examination by the two people and the cat, they discovered a temple dedicated to the sea goddess at the northernmost part of the underwater city, and that the treasure of the female pirate's life was likely kept in the temple.

They quickly followed the map's directions and arrived at the entrance of the Sea Goddess's temple.

There were other people here, about a dozen or so. Two of them had fish tails and wore crowns on their heads. Among the rest were people from the Dream God Cult, the Life Church, the Business Church, and the Eternal Church.

They were either squatting on the temple steps, standing with their arms crossed and cold faces, or talking in pairs, but their eyes were always fixed on the temple gate.

The gate was tightly shut, but Phil Gray deduced from Victor's earlier words that the treasure should soon appear in the world, at which time the temple gate would open. He just didn't know what use the earring he had obtained would be.

Upon seeing the group of two people and a cat, these people merely glanced at them without saying anything. Phil Gray and Patrick then found a corner and waited quietly.

Patrick had so much to say to his cousin as soon as he saw him, so he whispered to his cousin, "I've been in this underwater city for about a day and a half. The reason I'm not afraid of seawater is because when I was sailing with Edith, she gave me a brocade dress woven by mermaids, which is the one I'm wearing. Do you think it looks good?"

Seeing his cousin's smug look, Phil Gray gestured to him with his eyes, and Patrick then noticed that the two mermaids wearing crowns gave him a cold look.

He gave an awkward laugh, then whispered to his cousin, "Those two seem to be royalty of the mermaid race. Could they both be at the Divine Prophecy level?"

"Not only that, judging from their aura, they should have already been demoted to the god level."

Patrick's eyes widened, and he quickly covered his mouth.

He then glanced discreetly at the others: "And what about them?"

"At least at the level of divine revelation."

"Then how do we get that pen from them?"

We'll see when the time comes.

The people vying for the treasure this time are all exceptionally powerful, but Phil Gray is not intimidated. The earring key is in his hands. Sometimes, strength doesn't guarantee you can get the treasure, and even if it comes down to strength, he might not lose. He can even summon a god-level undead!

"Sigh, if Edith were here," Patrick said with a gloomy look.

“I saw Edith before. Her pirate ship is so big, I don’t believe you couldn’t see it,” Phil Gray said doubtfully.

"Hmm... I saw her too, but cousin, do you know what? I actually met Edith at Edith's place!"

"?"

“No, I mean two Ediths in one boat!” Patrick exclaimed excitedly. “It’s terrifying! I can’t even imagine something like this happening, my God! So I didn’t dare go up to them and acknowledge them! Oh, you can’t even imagine them smiling at each other and talking together…”

"No, I think I can imagine it..."

"ah?"

Following his cousin's direct gaze, Patrick turned his head and saw a dashing female pirate leading another gentle and elegant girl in a white dress, walking towards the temple.

He was so frightened that he took a few steps back and then tried to cover his face and hide behind his cousin.

But don't forget, his cousin's face was also familiar to both Ediths. A hint of surprise flashed in the two girls' eyes, and they quickened their pace.

However, at that moment, with a violent tremor, the gate of the Temple of the Ocean Goddess collapsed with a crash.

The treasure is about to be revealed!

Everyone present rushed into the temple. Phil Gray, no longer caring about Patrick's entanglement with the two Ediths, pulled him into the temple.

The temple is filled with statues of all sizes, some half a person tall, some three or four meters tall, some with human bodies and fish tails, and some resembling pirates. In the very center is a huge statue of the sea goddess.

"How come they're all statues?"

Those who entered were very puzzled, as it seemed that these statues were the only things in this enormous temple.

People crowded around the statues, examining them closely and searching for clues to the treasure. The follower of the Dream Cult, however, was growing impatient. He took out a spear, seemingly intending to destroy some of the statues in front of him.

The pirate Edith, who had just rushed over, stopped him. Her light blue ocean power transformed into a chain, binding his body.

What are you doing!

"Hmph, you want to destroy things here? Don't you even ask the owner of this place for permission?" the pirate Edith shouted.

“Apart from the statue of the sea goddess, all the statues here are of the pirate queen’s former crew members,” another Edith explained in a soft voice.

Everyone turned their attention to the two of them.

Patrick's expression was complicated; he wanted to say something to them but swallowed it back.

They stood together again, hand in hand, and came to the statue of the goddess.

The pirate Edith gently raised her hand, and the power of the ocean enveloped the goddess statue. A passage slowly cracked open at the base of the statue. She raised her eyes slightly, "The treasure lies beneath, but unfortunately, it belongs to us. You will not receive a single drop!"

"Why should I!"

"yes!"

The others glared angrily at them, and the two crowned mermaids drew their weapons, instantly escalating the tension.

"Because we are the reincarnations of the pirate queen Phoenix, this is what she left us," the two Ediths said simultaneously.

"ah?"

Patrick exclaimed in surprise.

“Don’t tell me you didn’t guess it before,” Phil Gray said in a low voice. All the experiences along the way had suggested that the two Ediths and Phoenixs had a close relationship.

However, no one expected that the pirate queen would be reincarnated as two people at the same time!

"I really didn't expect this..."

"Heh, you think that's all there is to it? I could say I'm Phoenix's lover from a past life, and that she left all these treasures to me!" The Dream Follower, who had been bound by the power of the ocean, broke free and said sarcastically.

Before Edith could say anything, Patrick's expression changed, and he yelled at her, "Look at yourself! You're like a toad trying to eat swan meat!"

"you……"

A smile appeared on both Ediths' lips.

The Dreamer was so angry his mouth twisted into a crook. He pulled out a curved knife from his pocket and slashed at Patrick, but before it reached him, it was blocked by Phil Gray's Sunblade.

"The Cult of Dawn?"

A look of apprehension flashed in some people's eyes.

Phil Gray smiled at the two Ediths and said, "It's been a long time, ladies. I can help you deal with these people. If the treasure contains the Pen of Truth of the God of Wisdom, give it to me as payment."

“Thank you, cousin. We’re family, so there’s no need for formalities. You can take whatever you want from the treasure,” the pirate Edith replied immediately.

“Yes,” Miss Edith in white smiled shyly and agreed.

Patrick scratched the back of his head and walked towards the two of them.

Seeing that Phil Gray had joined forces with them, the remaining people spontaneously attacked them together.

Phil Gray frowned slightly. These people were half divine beings and half divine manifestations, so they were still finding it very difficult to deal with them.

He retrieved the "Soul of the Sea" from his spatial storage and whispered, "Summon—my undead companion!"
