Does he look like a chef?
This spirit must be the owner of the diary—the cook named Tang. But why did he kill the Life Priest and this lady, simply because they offered him food?
“Don’t worry, if you’re scared, just come with us for now,” Phil Gray said reassuringly.
“Okay, thank you. My name is Caroline.” The woman looked at Phil Gray gratefully and took out a small bag of candy from her spatial stone. “I bought this at the Food God Cult’s shop. You can take it and eat it. I don’t know when we’ll be able to leave.”
"Thank you." Phil Gray smiled slightly and accepted the gift without hesitation, hoping it would put the lady at ease.
“The known undead on board are the ghosts of Jeremy and Don. Jeremy is currently only possessing the captain, while Don killed the Life Priest,” Phil Gray said slowly, gazing towards the captain’s cabin, where the captain, first mate, and second mate were still under control.
"This also proves that you guessed right. The so-called delicacies that Tang recorded in his diary were made from human flesh. Otherwise, why would he still use a boning knife to kill and cut flesh even after he died?" Eli felt nauseous as he thought of the words in the diary.
"What should we do?" Caroline bit her lower lip and frowned.
“Let’s go check the captain’s cabin again; maybe we can find some clues.” Phil Gray walked toward the captain’s cabin, only to see the Chosen One of Death lurking suspiciously at the door, doing something unknown.
"Hello!"
Eli patted the man on the shoulder until he turned around, revealing a gloomy face to them.
"What are you doing!" he said through gritted teeth, his eyes fierce.
"You just went into the captain's cabin?" Phil Gray stared into his eyes.
"So what if I am?" he scoffed. "I just went in to check the situation; I didn't do anything."
Eli and Caroline hurried inside and found the captain, first mate, and second mate still steering the ship. Although they looked extremely tired, they were not injured.
Looking around, I didn't find anything changed.
They nodded to Phil Gray, who was standing by the man outside the door, indicating that everything was normal inside.
Caroline then approached the captain, seemingly wanting to ask him what had just happened.
“Alright.” Phil Gray smiled apologetically at the man in black before him.
The man glared at Phil Gray and turned to leave.
“Something’s not right… He’s definitely hiding something. I’ve offended him!” Phil Gray muttered to himself. Sometimes he trusted his instincts. He focused his divine power in his eyes and stared at the departing black figure.
"The Eye of Destiny!"
The vast river of fate flows slowly, reflecting the ups and downs of a person's life.
This was the first time he had used the Eye of Fate since advancing to the prominent level.
Suddenly, he discovered that, unlike before, a small pointer had appeared on the river of fate, and it seemed that he could move the pointer with his own will.
Can he now freely choose a period of time in the river of fate?
Symbolizing that his current fate lies in the very middle of the river, Phil Gray tentatively moved the pointer forward a little bit.
In that instant, he felt a large portion of his divine power drain away, leaving him feeling weak.
It seems that to accurately foresee one's fate at a certain point in time, one must expend more divine power.
Fortunately, a clear scene began to appear before his eyes.
The man in black robes, favored by the god of death, hesitated at the captain's cabin door before pushing it open and walking in, heading east.
The captain, first mate, and second mate could only keep steering the ship, facing the opposite direction from the man in black, making it difficult for them to notice his movements.
On the far east side of the captain's cabin was a large table with a nautical chart on it.
This is a rough map of the South China Sea, but it only shows the part near the land. After all, the South China Sea ends in an endless sea shrouded in layers of mist, and no one knows whether it is land or another world.
The man in black robes walked to the table and tapped it lightly with his thin knuckles, but the table did not change.
Then, he bent down and actually crawled under the table.
What?
Phil Gray's gaze shifted as the man in black crawled under the table, revealing a completely different scene underneath.
It turned out to be a small hut!
There must be spatial power here. However, Captain Jeremy's true identity is that of a pirate, and he must have many secrets. It is not surprising that he asked the Eternal Church to create a hidden space.
The furnishings inside the cabin were completely different from those in the captain's cabin outside. In the center hung a portrait of Jeremy, wearing a pirate hat and smiling smugly. In the background was a large ship, which was clearly the Blacktooth Shark, but a pirate flag was flying brightly on it.
The man in black robes gave a sinister laugh, and a ball of eerie blue flame appeared in his pale hand. Then, a cloud of black mist condensed, and a human figure could be vaguely discerned within it.
The eerie blue flames seemed to have a great attraction for the figure, which flew towards the flames like a moth.
The man in black robes withdrew his hand, causing the flames to disappear before his eyes.
The figure was enraged, and the fog thickened, allowing Phil Gray to make out some of his face and attire.
It's Captain Jeremy!
The scene continued to change. The man in black robes took out a black bottle, and with the flow of divine power, he absorbed all the black mist into it!
He looked around at the surrounding furnishings, but nothing seemed to interest him until he spotted a small storage box in the corner.
Upon opening it, there were no valuable items inside, but rather some pink dried flowers.
The man in black robes was somewhat disappointed. He kicked over the storage box, scattering flower petals all over the ground, and then crawled out from under the table.
He was discovered by Phil Gray and others as soon as he left the captain's cabin.
The scene ends abruptly here.
Phil Gray snapped out of his daze and saw Caroline still talking to the captain and the others in the captain's cabin, while Eli was rummaging through various items.
He stepped forward, tapped the table as the man in black had done, and then quickly bent down and peered under the table.
"What's wrong?" Eli looked at his actions with some confusion, while Caroline also cast a curious glance at him.
Phil Gray simply waved to them, "There's another space inside; we should be able to find some more clues there!"
For the men in black robes, Jeremy's powerful ghost is the most important thing, but for them, some other items inside might bring a new turning point!
"What?" Caroline ran over in surprise, and Eli followed her as he crawled under the table.
"Oh? What kind of space? Damn undead, I don't want to be stuck here, my Gold Coin No. 3..." The captain's complaining voice gradually faded from their ears.
