Phil Gray's barrage of flying blades stopped, but Viscount Ward was no longer able to resist.
“Yes… I am also a member of the White Blade. Princess Sani ordered me to kill you all…” Viscount Ward supported himself on the ground with his sword. His body was covered with wounds from the flying blades, and his right hand could barely hold the sword.
"Where is Eli? Did you look for him after he jumped into the sea?"
"Heh, how could an ordinary person possibly survive at sea, so far from land?" Viscount Walder raised his head, his slashed face dripping blood, making him look ferocious and terrifying.
He had barely finished speaking when he staggered to his feet, his sword trembling as he charged toward Phil Gray.
As expected of a member of White Blade, his speed was still very fast, but due to the scars all over his body, he could no longer compare with the white-clad man from that day.
Phil Gray's eyes narrowed, and he picked up Eli's dagger and slit his throat.
Blood gushed out, and Viscount Walder fell to the ground, his eyes filled with resentment.
After severing his right hand in a few swift movements, he placed it into the Death Stone, which could later be made into a glove. As for the knights, they were still unconscious due to Edith's wave attack.
He planned to have the pirates thrown into the sea later, and whether they lived or died would be up to fate.
Turning around, he saw a group of pirates staring in disbelief. Colin stammered, "Cousin, I apologize for my previous behavior. Please don't hold it against me!"
He then bowed.
Although they are both at the same level of prominence, who can withstand such a barrage of flying blades? What's more, this guy's hand-cutting movements are so skilled, it's terrifying!
“Who’s your cousin? This is my cousin! Stop calling me that!” Patrick kicked Colin in the butt.
"Didn't we just call him 'boss'?"
"Can she be compared to you?"
Phil Gray chuckled. "Don't worry, I'm not that petty. But what are you doing taking over this plantation?"
“This plantation is no good. They not only grow fake tobacco and traffic slaves everywhere, but they also grow a plant that is extremely addictive. It’s much worse than tobacco and has harmed many people!” Patrick said angrily. “I was ambushed by them that day and taken to the sea. Luckily, Edith saved me.”
Colin grabbed the plantation's second son, Pei Ji, by the neck. "Yes, it was this guy. They planned to bring my second brother here as a slave. How despicable..."
Pei Ji hurriedly shook his head, "No, no, no, I wouldn't dare. I was so foolish back then. Please let me go. I've already helped you take over the plantation!"
"Hmph, I'll spare your life for now, but the plantation matter still needs to be dealt with properly," Colin said fiercely.
“Cousin, I’ve been thinking about how to complete the god’s mission, but now I think I’ve found the direction.” Patrick turned around, spreading his arms. “This plantation has over a thousand slaves. Besides those who can work here, there are others locked in cellars in other areas. If they get sick, they’re abandoned; if they escape, they’re hung from trees and tortured to death. They all resent their fate. Why can some people enjoy a life of luxury, while others can’t even have a pair of shoes that fit? I want to change their fate…”
He turned back to Edith and said, “Fortunately, someone shares my ambition and is already taking action. She is the most dazzling pearl on the sea, and the only fiery red in the deep blue ocean.”
Edith looked back at him and smiled.
Phil Gray suddenly had the feeling of watching his child grow up. His cousin seemed to have matured a lot, but he was always rational; he was just more lively in front of him.
“What are your plans for this plantation?” Phil Gray asked.
If Malu Island belonged to any country or church, these pirates would certainly anger the other party by occupying the plantation. However, Malu Island is a chaotic place with no country and various churches vying to spread their teachings. Even if they claimed the plantation as their own property, there would be no problem.
“Let’s settle accounts with them for their crimes. If they haven’t done anything wrong, we can give them some money or land and let them go. If they have ever sold slaves, fake tobacco, or that plant, let them become slaves and experience what those they persecuted went through. That’s fate,” Patrick laughed.
...
The pirates went about their business, and Edith and Colin were discussing some things when Frank's appearance startled Patrick.
He exclaimed, "What is this thing?"
Phil Gray explained, “As you know, I am a chosen one of the gods of death. This is someone I met in the Abyss of the Dead, and I have now summoned him to the mortal realm. You can call him Mr. Frank; he is a ghost.”
Patrick nodded. He understood that his cousin had told the man he was a chosen one of the gods of death, so he couldn't reveal the identities of his cousin's other two chosen ones.
“Mr. Ghost… Oh, Mr. Frank, hello!” He greeted him warmly and looked him up and down with curiosity.
"Don't look at me like I'm a monkey, but you and this guy really do look alike," Frank said with a click of his tongue, recalling Phil Gray's face under the mask; the two looked like they were related.
“Haha, it’s a pity my cousin has to hide his identity…” Patrick covered his mouth. “Alright, let me tell you about my experience.”
"That night, I was waiting for the little boy to return with the letter so I could pay him for his trouble. After all, he wouldn't accept money he didn't earn. I waited for a while, but the wind got too strong and it was cold. I saw the yard over there and wanted to go in to take shelter from the wind, but those damned tobacco dealers had set a trap at the entrance. I accidentally fell into their iron cage and was drugged. I was unconscious for several days, and when I woke up, I was at sea..."
"You're so unlucky!" Phil Gray couldn't help but complain, how could something like this happen just to deliver a message.
“But perhaps this was the arrangement of fate? Pei Ji and his tobacco merchants took me to the island, wanting me to become one of those slaves. But I am a chosen one. I was just caught off guard when I was ambushed. I was about to fight them when, who would have thought that several large pirate ships would surround our small boat?” Patrick continued to recall.
"Is Edith here? But why is she called Edith? Is it a coincidence? Or is there some other reason? And I remember you liked Miss Edith from Kao City, didn't you?" Phil Gray finally couldn't help but ask the question that had been on his mind.
