"I've told you so many times, being a qualified king is not an easy task."
Veronica sighed softly, with a hint of pampering in her tone.
"You must learn to sympathize with the people, win over the nobles, and distribute benefits. Becoming a king is not something you can do casually."
Veronica looked at her tired lover with heartache, and her hands became more gentle.
Her eyes revealed deep concern and love for Kroeber, as if she could see through his fatigue to the deep pressure in his heart.
Krober waved his hand and dismissed all the officials, indicating that they could go about their own business.
After they left, he hugged Veronica, who was massaging his forehead.
He hugged her tightly, feeling her warmth and softness.
Kroeber buried his head in Veronica's hair, greedily inhaling her scent.
The faint fragrance made him feel peaceful and at ease, as if all his worries were gradually disappearing.
"I thought all we had to do was kill all those disobedient nobles, and then support a group of obedient ones."
Veronica gently stroked Krober's hair and comforted him softly:
“My dear, politics is not that simple.
Force can't solve everything. Nobles and commoners alike are all driven by profit. Even if you kill one group, the next group will do the same thing. Will you then kill everyone in the kingdom?"
"Thank you, my love."
Krober whispered, closing his eyes and leaning into Veronica's arms.
Veronica smiled slightly and kissed Krober's forehead gently.
"You don't have to thank me, dear."
"Because I love you, I will always support you."
"No matter what difficulties you encounter, I will face them with you."
