One has to admit that Second Daughter Island, as the pirates' base, does have the air of a military fortress just from the outside.
Because the noble coalition did not completely destroy this place last time, the "city wall" built by the pirates with stones and clay was relatively well preserved.
What is puzzling is that this group of pirates seems to have no concept of nighttime sneak attacks, or they have long forgotten the tragic experience of their lair being attacked by the coalition of nobles not long ago.
There were only a handful of people patrolling with torches on the entire city wall, while the rest were either sitting around the fire chatting or lying down in a corner to sleep.
Witnessing this scene, Foster couldn't help but wonder how this motley crowd managed to defeat the defenders of Black Feather Island and successfully kill Baron Black Feather Island.
Foster and Hyer successfully climbed over the city wall with their agility.
Note: Foster relied on his wind-attribute fighting spirit to leap onto the top of the city wall, while Hyer relied entirely on the strong physique of a formal knight to climb up.
After climbing up the city wall, there were only a dozen or so small stone houses inside the "fortress". The largest stone house had several pieces of red silk hanging outside as decoration.
It was as if he was afraid that others didn't know that was where the pirate leader lived.
Relying on his own wind-attributed fighting spirit, Foster easily jumped off the city wall and landed safely without making any sound.
When he looked up, he found that Haier was looking at him with a complicated look on the city wall.
That look was three parts cold, three parts sarcastic, and three parts indifferent. Oh no, cross it out.
In short, it is a very complicated look.
Hyer retracted his envious gaze, and in order not to make any noise, he could only slowly climb down on the stones. Fortunately, the pirates did not polish the stones when they built the "city wall", and there were too many sharp edges and corners.
So Hyer climbed down easily.
The two held their breath and slowly walked to the largest stone house, looking out through the window.
(It's just a simple hole, with thick long stones on top to block the pressure, which can support a window at the bottom.)
The stone house is very simple in structure, and some of the well-made furniture was obviously looted from Black Feather Island.
A stone bed was covered with a haphazard arrangement of expensive textiles.
Lying on the bed were a middle-aged man with a scruffy beard and a naked woman with snow-white skin.
Foster and Hyer looked at each other and planned to sneak in while the pirate leader was sleeping to interrogate him for information about the pirates.
The two of them entered the room slowly, not daring to make any noise.
Foster was carefully observing whether there was a trap hidden in the dark. After a round of investigation, he could not find any clues of the trap. He made a gesture to Hyer, indicating that there was no trap in this room.
Hyer made a gesture to indicate that he already knew.
Then the two men slowly walked to the bedside. Foster, who was in the lead, made a gesture, and Hyer took out the dagger he had kept close to him.

As Foster's fingers became 1, Hyer quickly used a dagger to cut the tendons of the pirate leader's hands. The severe pain woke the pirate leader from his sleep, his eyes wide open, and he was about to cry out in pain.
But Foster on the side directly removed the pirate leader's jaw. The pirate leader, who was suffering from double pain, could only make a "woohoo" sound, and his twitching body intuitively reflected the pain he was suffering.
The pirate leader's violent movement naturally woke up the woman who was sleeping soundly beside him. The woman's eyelids trembled slightly. After she opened her eyes in a daze, she found that the scene in front of her was so scary that she opened her mouth and prepared to scream.
Before her mouth could open much, Foster removed her jaw in the same way. The intense pain and fear of death made the woman cry.
But Hyer and Foster were undeterred.
Foster whispered to the two people on the bed:
"Don't scream! Just answer whatever I ask. If there's even a slight mistake, I'll touch your neck with my dagger!"
Watching the two people on the bed nod in obedience with fear on their faces, Foster first reset the pirate leader's jaw.
Feeling that he could speak again, the pirate leader quickly put on an ingratiating smile.
"Sir, I am but a small pirate. I do not know how I have offended you. Please be so magnanimous as to dismiss me. I swear, my men and I will obey your orders."
Hearing such flattering words, Foster did not believe him at all.
"Don't talk nonsense. I ask questions, you answer. If there's anything that makes me dissatisfied, you can say goodbye to this world."
At this time, the woman calmed down, and she even dared to gesture to Foster to put her chin back.
Foster was curious. After his observation, he found that this woman was just an ordinary person. How could she have the courage to give him orders?
But he was not worried that this woman would do something bad. With his speed, he was able to chop off her head the moment she opened her mouth.
After resetting the woman's jaw, Foster and Hyer waited quietly for her next move.
Oh, and to prevent the pirate leader from yelling while they waited, Foster removed his jaw again.
The woman rubbed her chin slowly, not caring at all about the large amount of spring light she had revealed. She even puffed out her chest proudly and introduced herself:
