Chapter 26 First Day at Work

The butler of the outer castle was an unremarkable middle-aged man with brown hair and a beard, but the gleam in his eyes showed that he was not as simple as he seemed.

After learning that Clober had officially joined the Dragon's Breath Knights, he first expressed his congratulations, and then took the initiative to arrange accommodation for Clober's servants, Sam and Will.

As an official knight and follower of Krober, Foster can have a separate room in the outer castle.

In accordance with Foster's request, the housekeeper specially arranged a room for him near the training ground.

Since Krober returned to the family, Foster has become more enterprising.

His exact words were:

"Grand Knight Foster is far more capable of protecting the young master than Official Knight Foster."

Just like that time before, when Lilith Golden Rose gave him the potion, she also said to him:

"Won't you be able to protect me better once you become a full-fledged knight?"

The words seemed to still linger in his ears, making him unable to forget them. The scene at that time was vivid in his mind, Lilith's beautiful and noble face, and the trust in her eyes, were deeply imprinted in his heart.

Now, time flies, but he always keeps this sentence in his heart.

Kroeber was also happy about this and naturally supported Foster's decision.

After a busy morning, Krober had almost finished his chores. He went to the stable to strengthen his relationship with Zhuifeng and asked Jack to take good care of Yaoguang, after all, that was the first war horse he owned.

There was still an afternoon left before the end of the holiday, but Krober had no intention of hanging around outside. He planned to go back to his room for training.

I don’t know if all the rooms in Saint Gold Castle are that big, but the room where Krober lives is big enough for his daily practice.

He was still wearing the extremely heavy plate armor and began to practice swordsmanship repeatedly.

Before this, he had always been accustomed to wearing light leather armor in battle, but in fact the weight of the armor itself did not cause him too much trouble and did not affect his performance.

However, things are different now. Krober is wearing heavy plate armor, the weight of which will severely limit his movement speed and reaction sensitivity, and directly change his original combat style.

In the past, due to the lack of sophisticated protective equipment, Kroeber paid special attention to flexible and varied movements during fighting, striving to be quick, accurate and ruthless, and to kill with one blow; if this goal could not be achieved, he would rely on his own agile and quick body to deal with the enemy, gradually wearing down the opponent's physical strength and will.

But now the situation has changed - Krober has to wear plate armor on a daily basis, so it is difficult to continue to use the previous light and graceful tactics to fight the enemy. Instead, he should make full use of the indestructible advantages of the armor and the sharpness of the weapon to kill the opponent.

Because of this, Krober had to adjust his battle strategy and adopt a new method of fighting that was bold, powerful and extremely aggressive.

This aggressive, force-driven fighting style made Krober feel unprecedentedly at ease, because the solid plate armor gave him powerful and reliable protection.

In terms of cultivation, the most important thing for Krober now is to increase the total amount of fighting spirit in his body. After the amount of fighting spirit reaches the standard, he can undergo the first fighting spirit transformation and be promoted to a great knight.

Sunlight streamed into the room through the window, illuminating Kroeber's resolute and handsome face. After a whole afternoon of dedicated practice, he felt relaxed and refreshed.

The next morning, when the first rays of light broke through the sky, Krober slowly opened his eyes and woke up from a sweet dream. Just as he was about to get up, a gentle knock on the door came into his ears.

"My Lord, are you awake? I'm Will, and I'm here to bring you breakfast."

Kroeber responded, "Come in."

The door opened, and Will walked in with light steps, holding a bowl of food that exuded an enticing aroma. It was a bowl of steaming hot honey oatmeal, and next to it was a huge, tender and juicy monster steak.

Will carefully placed breakfast on the table, then turned and walked to Krober and respectfully began to help him dress.

After Krober was dressed, Will quickly took action to help make the bed and clean the room. His movements were skillful and neat, as if everything had become a habit.

At this time, it was still early, the sky was just beginning to brighten, around five o'clock in the morning.

Under Will's careful care, Krober's originally messy hair became neat and tidy, and his heavy plate armor was polished to a shine.

After a while, a handsome knight with heroic and elegant demeanor appeared before his eyes.

Kroeber nodded in satisfaction, praising Will for his service.

Then, he took firm steps, ready to face the challenges and adventures of a new day (this is also the author's first day on the job, so he can relate).

The Dragon's Breath Knights consisted of fifty members (excluding the leader, vice-leader, and others), divided into five squads, each consisting of ten knights. Squads One, Two, and Three were responsible for guarding and patrolling the inner keep; Squad Four was responsible for guarding the outer keep; and Squad Five was responsible for patrolling the entire castle perimeter.

Dylan belonged to the fifth squad, the same squad I had encountered outside Fort Saint-Golden. Their captain, Victor Sunflower, was a rather wicked fellow.
