Episode 7, Part 6: Guessed it again!

Episode 06 - Guessed it again!

To be fair, the fish and chips tasted pretty good.

Especially when it's fresh out of the oven, the crispy outer skin combined with the steaming hot air, and the tender white fish meat, tastes just as good as fried chicken strips, and might even give you the illusion of eating a healthy meal.

The fries are thin fries, but they don't just have a crispy crust; they also retain the soft and creamy texture of potatoes.

In addition, the self-service sauce station offers H.P. sauce to suit Scottish tastes, tomato sauce favored by Hampshire and Essex, pea puree from Nottingham, salad dressing from South Wales, and more.

There are as many as eight or nine kinds of sauces.

I chose curry sauce topped with stringy cheese.

However, the cheese was charged separately, so I paid extra at the counter.

Looking at the sauce, I couldn't help but ask, "By the way, do you add sauce to fried fish too?"

"You can learn from Albert."

I turned and glanced at Albert.

He ate very vegetarian food, just sprinkled some salt on it and that was it.

This looks tasteless.

I can imagine that his refrigerator must be like the one in TV dramas, filled with Italian or Norwegian mineral water.

Because he even insisted on having mineral water as his beverage.

My God, I can't even imagine how boring his life must be.

London, however, seemed to admire his taste in front of me, making me feel like a clueless young man caught between Guan Zhong and Bao Shuya.

"Why don't you change the person you bind him to, and make him Milvolton instead?"

London: "..."

"I didn't ask you to bind yourself to me."

Even though I am an ordinary person, my pride and integrity will never allow London to save face.

London realized I was being argumentative and asked, "I didn't say anything to you, so why are you upset?"

"But you've never praised me either."

London: "..."

After a moment, London's mechanical voice, as still as a well, maintained its composure: "...because you have no redeeming qualities that anyone would praise."

"Pretending to be something you're not."

I said confidently, "How could someone as outstanding as me have no merits? I don't believe it."

London: "..."

It seemed to want to say something, but in the end it gave up and never mentioned Albert again.

I focused my attention back on the food, but Albert thought what he was saying was very important.

He said that the bank robber's accomplice was seeking revenge and had already targeted both him and me. He came over specifically to warn me.

I wasn't in a hurry at all; all I could think about was eating and yummy yummy.

However, to be honest, it gets cloying after a while.

Order a portion that's enough to make you feel half full; I think that's how you truly savor the delicious flavor of fish and chips.

After thinking for half a second, I came to the conclusion that fish and chips are not suitable as a staple food.

Albert just looked at me quietly: "Mr. Milverton, don't you have any thought about your own safety?"

"No."

Albert's eyes flashed.

I leaned back comfortably on the soft sofa and said with a nonchalant smile, "Because you're here to take care of me, why would I need to worry about my safety?"

London: "Don't you really care about your own life or death?"

I pretended not to hear London's teasing, crossed my arms, looked at the young man opposite me, and said, "In a dangerous situation like this, where we are complete strangers, your first reaction is to come and warn me, instead of calling the police. Isn't that interesting?"

I continued, "Therefore, there is only one truth."

As soon as he finished speaking, I saw a deep light in Albert's eyes.

Does he really think I can't see the contradictions here?

It would be a shame not to play with the toys that you brought yourself.

"It seems this matter is really dangerous and urgent; even calling the police won't help."

As I said this, I smiled.

Albert remained silent for a moment, his tone becoming increasingly calm and clear-headed. He didn't respond, but simply said, "You saw through my true intentions long ago, didn't you?"

"?"

Me: "So, what was his real purpose in coming to see me?"

London: "I don't know either."

Albert looked into my eyes, his expression clearly probing.

You want to probe my knowledge and see how much I actually know?

"You know my driver from earlier, right?"

I won't play hide-and-seek with him.

The driver was a former soldier, and his demeanor reflected that background.

The two are well connected.

Not to mention, there's no cost to guessing wrong.

As soon as I finished speaking, I stood up, pretending to leave, to increase his psychological pressure.

But he didn't stop me, nor did he say yes or no. He just looked up at me with that ambiguous expression.

In that instant, an absurd thought suddenly flashed through my mind.

As I stood up at that moment, I might not have been prey in his eyes, but rather a hunter who forced him to be on high alert and look for an escape route.

I was slightly taken aback, then I smiled.

You guessed right again.
