Chapter 19, Episode 12: Who says otherwise?

Chapter 19, Episode 12: Who says otherwise?

Episode 12 Who can argue with that?

"Did you forget something?"

London is a constant reminder of this.

But I didn't say a word.

In fact, the bank robbery made me so excited that I was in a daze until the morning.

At 10 a.m., I was still aimlessly bouncing around.

Yes, there was absolutely no purpose.

Even though I still have so many things to do, I suddenly went online and decided to buy myself a giant Maine Coon cat, wanting to put my head inside its mouth.

I feel like I'm a popping candy, seemingly quiet on the surface, but actually exploding all the time.

London thinks I'm acting crazy for no reason.

However, at 11:30, Jenny wanted to ask me how to handle the follow-up situation of the bank theft case.

Because the Lloyds Bank theft was reported during yesterday's CAME live broadcast, it caused a huge uproar this morning, and public opinion was no longer something D-notice could suppress.

We have complete information, from beginning to end, which could even be made into a series of documentaries.

Her ambition was even stronger than I had imagined. She wanted me to negotiate with high-ranking figures whom I didn't know, couldn't imagine, or had already forgotten, to discuss how to make the news materials at hand as public as possible.

Joseph Pulitzer said, "The press is the last line of defense for democracy." The value of the press lies in enabling the public to better understand social truths and phenomena, and to monitor...

From the moment she started lecturing me, I became distracted.

Finally, after I heard her stop, I seized the opportunity to say, "I'm hungry."

Jenny interrupted, "Sorry, I didn't notice that. Boss, what would you like to eat?"

"You buy it for me," I said, then added, "but I don't want the salad bowl."

Last time I saw her eating a salmon salad, the thick slices of salmon were covered with arugula, onions and cheese, so I just took a detour.

"I don't want to eat panini either."

Panini is an Italian sandwich, unlike other sandwiches, it is pressed and toasted, so the bread is warm.

But I'm already completely tired of the most popular chicken and avocado flavor.

Jenny raised her voice and said, "Oh, how about I bring you some pasta?"

I said, "I'm not suited to eating pasta."

London: "Why do you have so many opinions?"

Me: "I don't know what I want to eat, but I know what I don't want to eat. Didn't that help her solve a lot of decision-making difficulties?"

London: "You're just making it harder for her to choose. She doesn't eat the common ones."

I couldn't help but want to cover my mouth: "How pitiful."

"I've been eating the same things all the time, and I feel like I have no choice if I don't eat them."

London: "You're getting better and better at insulting people indirectly."

Me: "Hehe."

Jenny brought me a plate of shrimp fried noodles in a folded takeout box. As soon as I opened the box, a waft of steam came out.

The glossy noodles are savory and smooth, with an astonishingly rich variety of ingredients: cabbage, onions, shredded carrots, zucchini chunks, bean sprouts, plus beef and fresh shrimp, all swirling together in the savory sauce. The aroma is so enticing it could practically pull you right out of your chair.

After finishing the meal, I started to feel sleepy, like an inflated balloon slowly deflating and becoming flat.

"Mr. Milverton, what should we do now?"

"The on-demand programs can start preparing to be listed."

I said lazily, "I remember someone on our show did a video of the fried chicken shop next to Lloyds Bank."

"There's no reason for food shows to be banned, is there?"

As soon as I finished speaking, Jenny practically jumped up on the spot. "I remember the team that was tracking the area next to Lloyds Bank said that they often felt the ground shaking at night all month, wasting a lot of their filming material."

"Aren't they actually digging a tunnel?"

Jenny began to speak.

Everyone now knows that the Lloyds Bank theft was caused by someone drilling through the vault floor from the bottom, and they have a record of the work.

It's unimaginable how many subscriptions and discussions our first on-demand program will attract, given the peak of the public's thirst for knowledge.

Jenny couldn't help but exclaim, "This is truly incredible, as if it were something we had anticipated and had been waiting for all along."

"Who can argue with that?"

I'm being incredibly presumptuous.

After a pause, I said, "I'm actually already closing in."

The whole case was clear at a glance, and from the moment I received notification from D, I felt confident of victory.

A note from the author:
