As night deepened, the apartment building was eerily quiet, but the occasional roars of zombies could be heard from downstairs.

“When I first heard Xiao Wu say that you had just gotten together with An Qingge, I thought you were threatening An Qingge with food or force.” Ji Yuetong blew the dust off the steps and sat down next to Zhang Lin. “But I talked to her during the day and found out that you didn’t do that.”
"What do you want to say?" Zhang Lin asked directly.
“You’re different from other men.” Seeing Zhang Lin’s directness, Ji Yuetong couldn’t help but smile bitterly and said, “I know that once we get to the suburban villa, I’ll be of no use anymore, and you definitely won’t protect me then, right?”
