Chapter 19 Mutant Beast

The emerging base was initially formed spontaneously by organizers, and later the most famous and capable person among them was selected as the leader.

When they were in the suburbs, they happened to meet people from this base who were on a mission and encountered danger.

He and Ji Heng saved people, and the captain of that team invited him and Ji Heng to go to Xinxing Base and join their team, but they refused.

They sent Ji Yang to the Xinxing base. As for how Ji Yang would live in the future, that was none of their business.

The Xinxing Base was once a large factory in Rongcheng, with high walls and easy to defend.

There was a long queue outside the door at this time.

Shi Qinghe knew that Ji Heng was not in the mood to take Ji Yang to queue up, so she did not let Ji Heng get off the car. Shi's father and mother did not get off the car either. They just sat in the car and waited for Shi Qinghe to come back.

Ji Yang followed Shi Qinghe out of the car and lined up. He didn't know what to do, nor did he know why he had to line up with Shi Qinghe.

After waiting in line for two hours, it was finally their turn.

When Ji Yang saw that his name was the only one registered on the registration form, he finally realized what was happening.

Are they going to dump him here?!

How can this be?

He doesn't have any relatives here, he doesn't know how to kill zombies, and he has no food. Is he just waiting to starve to death here?

And now that he has come to a place like this where there are factories, where is he going to live?

He might as well have starved to death in the basement of the villa.

"I'm not going in. I want to stay with you." Ji Yang grabbed Shi Qinghe's hand. Although he was very weak and hadn't eaten much for several days, he had a lot more strength holding someone's hand.

Shi Qinghe sneered, without even looking at him, and pushed Ji Yang's hand away. She then said to the staff member in front of her, "Then I'll trouble you, little brother. Find him a smaller house to live in and get him some food."

Shi Qinghe stuffed two or three crystal cores into the staff's hands.

There is no need to pay any money to enter the emerging base. The staff's salary is just two meals a day. Some people use crystal cores to exchange for a small room and some food. The staff are very happy and immediately agree.

Crystal core, that is a great treasure that can enhance supernatural powers.

People like them who have no special powers and are unable to kill zombies can exchange the crystal cores for a good price with people who have special powers.

Seeing Shi Qinghe was about to leave, Ji Yang became anxious.

"Don't leave, my brother! He will never let me leave here alone. I want to go with you. How can he be worthy of my parents like this?"

"I am his only family now."

Shi Qinghe paused, turned around and looked at the younger brother of the Ji family whom he had known since childhood, and was extremely disappointed. "Aheng, my parents and I are a family."

"He didn't kill you because he was being worthy of your parents. Don't think he doesn't know what you did."

Shi Qinghe was no longer as playful as usual. Her face was dark and her eyes were so cold that Ji Yang was scared. He could only watch him leave.

Ji Yang sulked and went into the observation room with the staff for two hours. They let him leave only after they saw that he had no fever and had not turned into a zombie.

He will make Ji Heng pay the price sooner or later. Why should he abandon him in such a desolate place?

Why have Ji Heng’s parents always loved him so much since he was a child?

And he was like a found person.

Shi Qinghe returned to the car and silently patted Ji Heng's shoulder.

"Let's go find something to eat first. This trip back to Zhe City will probably take more than half a month."

"Um."

Mother Shi, who had been silent the entire time, hesitated for a while before finally speaking, "Xiao He, is the base in Zhe City really that good? Why don't we just live in the base in Rongcheng?"

The road to Zhe City is extremely dangerous, and no one knows what they will encounter. It would be great if we could not go far and the whole family could live together.

Shi Qinghe looked at Ji Heng speechlessly.

"It will be fine." Ji Heng's voice was very low, and then he closed his eyes, looking like he didn't want to talk anymore.

Mr. and Mrs. Shi looked at each other, and became more expectant about the base that Ji Heng and Shi Qinghe mentioned.

Zhe City.

Xu Bai was near a pig farm.

After the end of the world, the pigs in the pig farm grew twice as large as before the end of the world. The original pigpen could not contain all these pigs at all, and the door of the pigpen had been knocked open by these pigs long ago.

The pigs, now without a pigsty, regained their freedom and rushed towards the surrounding villages like wild beasts. Many villagers were harmed and some even lost their lives.

We were on guard against zombies in every possible way, but we couldn't prevent pigs.

When Xu Bai arrived, he happened to see a pig banging its head against a farmer's door for its life. The door was banged with a loud bang, which attracted zombies wandering in the distance.

Looking again, the door was already shaking from being hit, and it looked like they were about to break in.

She saw someone behind the door trying desperately to prevent it from being broken open.

Xu Bai hurried forward and took out the rope she got from the outdoor store. She was very fast and wrapped the rope around the mutant pig several times and pulled it tight.

But how could Xu Bai pull the mutant pig by himself?

Xu Bai didn't care about the fat meat, he picked up the dagger and stabbed it hard into the pig's body. The mutant pig screamed in pain and struggled to shake off the little thing on its back.

Xu Bai's body was shaking and sliding down, and the rope tied to the mutant pig was tightened a lot.

The giant pig screamed in my ears and struggled even harder.

Xu Bai frowned, inserted the dagger into its neck, and took advantage of the momentum to stand up. He flipped over and sat on the pig neatly. He pulled out the original dagger and stabbed it into the head. Before it fell, Xu Bai rolled over and knelt on one knee. Without delaying for a minute, he threw the dagger in his hand and hit a zombie's head accurately. Then he swept his leg and kicked another zombie to the ground and exploded it.

In just two or three minutes, three or four zombies were immediately dealt with by Xu Bai.

Xu Bai helped up the old man who had fallen to the ground.

The old man was still holding the hoe in his hand and breathing heavily.

"Grandpa, are you going to die?"

Before Xu Bai could say anything, the door next to him opened and a dirty little girl rushed out, crying and hugging the old man.

Xu Bai: “…”

Xu Bai looked at the old man who was having trouble breathing, and then saw that his trouser legs were covered with zombies' blood. It was no wonder that the little girl thought her grandfather was going to die.

Without disturbing the two, Xu Bai silently dissected the mutant pig next to him.

After the early days of the apocalypse, many animals and plants changed drastically. For example, the one in front of us had its body mutated into a huge size.

Xu Bai used a knife that had never been used to kill zombies. She would sharpen the knife every night before going to bed, so the knife was very sharp. With a little force, the belly was peeled open. She turned it over with the tip of the knife and looked at the pig's teeth. She found that it had never eaten zombies, so she put it into her personal space with peace of mind.
