Chapter 5 Combat Techniques
"roar!"
Fang Bai, who had just entered the apartment building, was startled when he saw the zombies rushing towards him. Instead of retreating, he rushed forward with his hands pushing the pot cover shield, and pressed himself against the zombies through the pot cover shield. Then he slammed his forehead forward! Bang! Fang Bai felt his head buzzing, but he still didn't stop. He pushed the zombies away and smashed the claw hammer on the zombies' temples.
Bang! The zombie fell to the ground. Fang Bai looked outside with lingering fear, and was relieved to see that the zombies outside were not alarmed.
"Huh, this zombie has much more impact force on flat ground."
Fang Bai rubbed his wrist. The handle of the pot lid shield was very twisted. It was fine to hit it from above while standing on the stairs, but facing the running zombies on flat ground, Fang Bai could only use it as a barrier and then push the zombies away with both hands.
"I'll have to find a way to get a good shield later. Well, there's a police station nearby. The magic shields they have are quite useful."
Fang Bai whispered, venting his emotions as he spoke, while looking around alertly.
"Also, you must pay attention to safety issues next time you enter a room. No matter how dangerous it is outside, you must slow down when you enter the room and be prepared for an enemy attack from inside.
If I hadn't been well-equipped, I would have died by now."
Fang Bai looked at the several tear marks on his military coat and silently memorized them in his heart.
This zombie provided nothing to Fang Bai except experience points.
"There are still seven to go."
After Fang Bai made sure that there were no zombies on the first floor, he stood at the stairs and the elevator entrance. After a little thought, he pressed the elevator button. After that, he immediately ran to the door of the apartment building, ready to run away at any time.
Although once there are people in the elevator, the elevator will take them to the corresponding floor, but what if the zombies stay in the elevator and don't get out? If there are zombies in the next elevator, it will be a surprise.
There is no joy but shock.
After what happened just now, Fang Bai dared not ignore these details.
"drop!"
With a slight sound, the elevator reached the first floor. Fang Bai threw a stone over there. The stone made a crisp sound when it hit the ground, but no zombie came out of the opened elevator door.
Empty.
Fang Bai waited until the elevator door closed again before walking over.
The interior of the elevator was clean and tidy, and Fang Bai directly pressed the top floor, which was the ninth floor.
Feeling the elevator slowly rising, Fang Bai, who had been tense all the way, finally felt a rare moment of relaxation.
"Now I can still take the elevator without any worries, but in a few days I probably won't dare to take it even if there is electricity."
Fang Bai couldn't help but think, because he didn't know when the power outage would happen, the chance of a power outage would increase the later it was. Although a power outage in the elevator wouldn't kill anyone, being trapped in the elevator would be quite troublesome.
The thought flashed through his mind, and when the number displayed on the elevator approached nine, Fang Bai's mind tensed up again. He raised the pot lid shield in his left hand, ready to meet the attack of the zombies.
"drop!"
The elevator door slowly opened. There was no movement outside the door. Fang Bai breathed a sigh of relief.
After looking around and seeing that both doors were closed, Fang Bai began to walk downstairs.
Ninth floor, eighth floor, seventh floor. "Roar!"
A familiar zombie growl was heard. Fang Bai smiled as he watched the zombie walking up the stairs. He slapped the zombie's hands away with a shield strike with his left hand and smashed the zombie's temple with a claw hammer in his right hand.
Bang! The zombie fell to the ground, and the experience points were obtained.
"Well, they are much easier to deal with than the zombies on the ground. As expected, it was the right decision to risk going upstairs and sweeping from top to bottom.
A few of them are just for free."
Fang Bai picked up a fallen copper coin. He had no equipment, but he also found a bunch of keys on his body, which Fang Bai took away.
Continue down.
Sixth floor, fifth floor, fourth floor. "Hmm? Two?"
Fang Bai was stunned, and watched the two zombies rushing towards him turn around and run away.
After running two floors and looking back, he saw a zombie fell on the stairs and had distanced itself from the other one. Fang Bai turned around to fight back. A moment later, both zombies fell under Fang Bai's claw hammer. One of them gave Fang Bai a copper coin, and the other one got nothing.
"Is the chance of equipment dropping so low? Even copper coins are not 100% dropped."
Fang Bai picked up the copper coin, frowned slightly, and looked down at the cloth shoes on his feet, liking them even more.
"Sure enough, I was lucky. I got a pair of shoes right at the beginning."
"There are still four left, and we can upgrade again soon."
After Fang Bai finished speaking, he thought for a moment, looked at the open door on the fourth floor, and walked straight in. There was no one or zombies inside, so Fang Bai closed the door and sat down inside.
Fang Bai took off his cotton-padded jacket, raincoat and motorcycle helmet, wrung his clothes and sweat poured down.
After taking off his clothes, Fang Bai went to the family's kitchen to mix some sugar and salt water, and ate some Rendan with the sugar and salt water. After sitting and resting for more than half an hour, Fang Bai felt better.
Wearing a raincoat, a cotton jacket and a motorcycle helmet in the middle of summer is safe, but it can also be really hot.
For safety reasons, Fang Bai could only endure it while taking various preventive measures.
Fang Bai put the prepared sugar and salt water into a bottle and carried it with him, then went downstairs again. However, he did not encounter any zombies on the lower floors.
Fang Bai returned to the first floor and looked at the next unit building again, but this time Fang Bai did not choose to run over. Instead, he walked to the stairs and went down to the underground floor, which was the underground parking lot.
There were two or three zombies wandering around in the parking lot, and they were scattered over a fairly large area.
Fang Bai went over and solved them one by one.
After hunting so many zombies, and the action patterns of these zombies are the same, Fang Bai has almost summed up a set of methods.
He blocked with his left hand shield, turned his body slightly, and smashed his temple with the claw hammer in his right hand.
After following the familiar process, the zombies basically couldn't touch Fang Bai, let alone hurt him.
Moreover, Fang Bai also figured out some uses of high mental power and high agility.
High mental power gives Fang Bai faster thinking speed and mental arithmetic ability, which means that as long as Fang Bai calms down, he can calculate various data in battle, calculate dodging angles, dodging frequencies, etc.
This means that Fang Bai can control it very accurately, and even the claw hammer can hit the zombie's temple accurately every time.
The improved agility can increase Fang Bai's nerve reaction speed, which gives Fang Bai the basis to realize various action ideas and achieve the expected results.
Under the effects of these two attributes, Fang Bai found that he could face the siege of two zombies with ease.
Just like just now, two zombies besieged Fang Bai, and Fang Bai was able to dodge one, resist one, and finally deal with them one by one.
One against two, but there wasn't even a scratch on Fang Bai's body or clothes.
The three zombies gave Fang Bai another copper coin and three experience points.
Fang Bai looked at the experience bar that was about to fill up and felt quite excited.
"There's only one left."
