Chu Mo in the picture was born into a wealthy family.
He has lived a luxurious life since childhood.
Logically speaking, he should have lived a carefree childhood, and when he grew up, he would either be a successful scholar or a playboy, but no matter what, his life would be happy and worry-free.
But fate plays tricks on us!
When he was young, he was weak and sickly, and needed to drink a lot of bitter medicine every day. Although his family had mountains of money, thousands of mansions, and groups of servants, he was tortured by long-term illness and his life was miserable.
In order to cure his illness, his parents spared no expense to hire many famous doctors and even used their connections to hire several imperial physicians at a high price. They prescribed a large number of medicines and made him drink countless medicinal soups, but his condition did not improve at all.
Instead, it became more and more serious later on.
At first he could still walk, but later on he was bedridden.
When the situation is most serious, the patient may even fall into a coma and rarely be awake during the day.
In order to treat his illness, his parents' hair turned white in just a few years. Even his mother fell ill because of it, and his father became ill due to overwork.
It seemed as if the wealthy family was about to collapse in an instant.
At this most desperate moment, a master suddenly came to the door.
That was when he was ten years old. He remembered it was winter and there was a rare heavy snowfall.
The snow piled up three feet, and even an old tree in the yard had its branches broken by the thick snow.
Chu Mo lay in bed as usual, staring blankly out the window at the bitter cold winter. His mind was as cold as the snowflakes falling from the sky, as if he had lost hope in his life.
His eyes lacked the brilliance of a young man, and were filled with emptiness.
"Will I die?"
Every day after waking up from his sleep, he would ask himself this question, and then answer with a wry smile: "Maybe!"
Ten years of illness have made me a doctor.
He knew long ago that his disease was rare in the world and no one could cure it.
therefore.
Every time he woke up, it was almost the last time for him - because even he could not be sure whether he could hold on next time, or whether he would have another chance to wake up.
He was completely desperate.
Despite his young age, he already has the thoughts and ideas of an elderly person.
And just at this moment.
The door opened, and his father, who hadn't smiled for a long time, actually smiled this time and respectfully invited an old Taoist in.
His words were full of humility.
The old Taoist has white hair and looks like he is in his sixties, but he is full of energy and has a youthful face.
Especially those pair of pitch-black eyes were extremely sharp, and the aura around him was transcendent, as if he was a banished immortal who had descended to earth.
Through the introduction of parents.
He learned that this old Taoist priest was an immortal!
Immortal?
Chu Mo wondered, are there still immortals in this world?
The old Taoist priest may have seen Chu Mo's doubts, so he didn't even take his pulse and said directly: "This boy has great talent. If he can practice, he will achieve something. Today, I see that he has a good relationship with you, so I will give him a chance!"
As he spoke, he handed out a scroll of scriptures.
Then.
The old Taoist priest then floated away and disappeared.
At first, Chu Mo scoffed at this and did not believe it, thinking that the old Taoist priest was just a charlatan. But as his parents came to ask him every day whether his health had improved after practicing, their eager and expectant eyes made Chu Mo unable to look directly at them.
He thought about it and finally decided to give it a try and started practicing breathing exercises according to the scriptures.
Just half a year!
He was pleasantly surprised to find that his physical condition had been effectively improved, his illness had eased, and even some heat would occasionally appear in his originally weak body.
This made him ecstatic.
Therefore, in order to heal his body, live longer and see more scenery, he practiced day and night and became obsessed with it.
Everything seems to be moving in a good direction.
He saw hope in his practice, and believed that his future would be like those immortals in the legend, where he would be able to achieve immortality and live as long as the sky.
However.
Little did he know that fate had played a huge joke on him.
When he was eighteen years old, his parents died of sadness in their early years. In grief, he inherited the family's huge fortune, fell in love with an extremely beautiful girl, and then got married and had children.
Although my parents are no longer with us, my life is already complete. Moreover, I still have goals to pursue in the future. What else can I ask for?
pity.
Twenty years later, the old Taoist priest appeared again.
It is a good thing to meet old friends again.
Chu Mo was also very happy and wanted to chat with his savior, but as soon as the old Taoist priest appeared, his face changed drastically and he shouted that his time was up!
Chu Mo was shocked and immediately knelt on the ground to ask the reason.
Initially, the Taoist priest kept silent, but Chu Mo begged him so earnestly that perhaps he was moved by sympathy and finally spoke: "This is a secret of heaven. I shouldn't have told you. But you and I are destined to be together. I can't bear to see you remain in the dark when you are about to die, so I have to explain it to you."
"Cultivation has its drawbacks and drawbacks. Once you embark on this path, you'll never again be tainted by the mundane world. Yet, you now possess immense wealth, a beautiful wife and concubines, and a multitude of servants. How could such a perfect thing exist in this world that could be possessed by one person?!"
Upon hearing this, Chu Mo stood there in shock as if struck by lightning, and then hurriedly asked the old Taoist how to avoid it.
