Chapter 34 Why did the female donor knock on my temple door?

"Thus have I heard. At one time the Buddha was in the Jetavana Grove in the country of Sravasti, with 1,250 great bhikkhus, all of whom were great arhats, known to all: the elders Sariputra, Mahamaudgalyayana, Maha Kasyapa, Maha Kaccayana, Maha Kaccayana, Revata, Sudhana, Nanda, Ananda, and Rahula..."

The thudding sound spread far away in the quiet night, accompanied by the sound of chanting, neither loud nor soft.

The clear voice and gentle tone recited the "Amitabha Sutra".

Apart from the sound of chanting, there is naturally the sound of wooden fish.

At this moment, the chanting suddenly paused before resuming.

"At that time, the Buddha told the elder Shariputra: 'From this west, across ten thousand billion Buddha lands, there is a world called Sukhavati. In that land lives a Buddha named Amitabha, who is now preaching the Dharma.'"

Ignoring the knock on the door, the chanting began again, but the knocking sounds from outside were also incessant.

"Why!"

The figure on the cushion in the Zen room sighed, closed the "Amitabha Sutra", stood up and walked out of the empty Zen room.

It’s a small temple, but it has everything.

In addition to the Main Hall, there are also meditation rooms and scripture storage rooms.

Coming out of the Zen room, the young figure shook his wide sleeves, walked past the main hall, crossed the courtyard, and stood in front of the gate. The young figure calmed his mind.

The knock on the door sounded quick and rhythmic.

Four long and three short!

Listening to the urgent sound, the force became stronger and stronger. At first it was just knocking on the door, but later it was almost banging on the door.

But the rhythm has not changed, it is still four long and three short.

"You knocked on my head, it's really... Amitabha!"

The young figure wanted to say something, but in the end he just chanted the Buddha's name.

He straightened his plain white monk's robe and opened the gate with a calm expression.

There was no one outside the door.

"There are three people and four ghosts. Why is the female donor knocking on my temple door?"

Outside the courtyard gate, there was no one around, and all that was visible was the deep darkness and dead silence.

The young monk didn't care either. He clasped his hands together with an indifferent expression.

"Oh, I'm wrong. How can there be a female donor? Not even a male donor."

He spoke to himself, as if he didn't notice the tall figure hidden in the darkness.

The distance between them was only a few steps, but it was the deep darkness that blocked them.

Seeing the young monk come out, a pale claw stretched out from the darkness, without a trace of blood.

"Donor, if you enter the temple and disrespect the Buddha, I don't blame you, but do you know that no one should enter the temple?"

The young monk had a calm expression and spoke in a gentle tone.

But just after he opened his mouth, the ordinary monk seemed to become much taller at this moment, and his burning blood turned into a furnace, as if even the darkness was expelled, so that the red blood could be clearly heard from several feet away.

Ordinary people might just feel that the surroundings are a little warmer, but for that pale hand and the huge body hidden in the darkness, everything disappeared the moment they came into contact with the furnace of qi and blood.

"Master, I still can't control my anger and my unbridled thoughts."

With a creak, the temple door closed.

"The world is trapped in a sea of suffering. My Buddha only saves those who are destined to be saved. But the Buddha is in my heart and I am there. Who is not destined to be with me?"

The white robes fluttered, the long sleeves danced, and in the small temple, the only sound was the young monks' laughter.

"Master, I understand."

"The Buddha is in my heart, the Buddha is in the hearts of all beings, and all beings are Buddhas."

"There is no Buddha in my heart. The Buddha is in the hearts of all living beings. There is no Buddha in the world."

"In that case, whether I am a monk, a Taoist, a warrior, or an ordinary person, what difference does it make?"

"The Mahayana Dharma is meant to save sentient beings, but if I don't save my heart, how can I save sentient beings? It's better not to practice the Mahayana Dharma."

As the young monk spoke, his white robe quietly turned black.

"From now on, the Tiantai sect's Dharma will no longer exist, and only the Hinayana Buddha will remain nameless!"

"My heart's home is the Pure Land, and wherever I am is the Buddha's kingdom. Saving me is also saving all living beings, and saving all living beings is saving me!"

As he spoke, the monk's eyes lit up, as if illuminating the dark night.

"In this world where demons and ghosts are rampant, how can I possibly sit there in meditation, chanting Buddhist scriptures, always accompanied by the ancient Buddha?"

After figuring out the doubts in his heart, all the shackles on the monk were removed. In an instant, he reached the stage of blood refining and went straight into marrow cleansing. He was only one step away from having his mind clear, and he could reach the pinnacle of martial arts and become an immortal on earth!

How terrifying is a warrior who is half a step away from becoming a human immortal?

That night, all the evil spirits and ghosts within a ten-mile radius around Mingling Temple were eliminated, leaving not a single one.

This is true whether it is level one, level two, level three, level four or level five.

Even though the sixth-level Yin Ling was at the same level as Wuming at this time, he was still the same. Facing the vast energy and blood of the Half-Step Human Immortal, he was also burned to ashes.

Wuming, who had figured it out, changed his plain robe into black in order to redeem himself and enlighten himself. In Mingling Temple, he just took a bowl and a Zen stick, closed the temple door, and left.

To Wuming, the night is no different from the day.

As for evil spirits, ghosts, mountain goblins and wild monsters, if they dare to appear in front of Wuming, then Wuming doesn't mind giving them a great opportunity.

The crisp sound of the rings on the Zen staff echoed through the darkness, but as Wuming walked, there was peace.

He walked briskly, so he had already passed the ten-mile radius of Mingling Temple, but the journey was very calm.

He did not deliberately restrain his qi and blood, nor did he deliberately release it. This was the most attractive to mountain spirits, monsters, and ghosts, but to Wuming's disappointment, no one came to find him.

Cultivate yourself but not your mind, this is what Master Wuming often tells himself.

Now Wuming feels that he has found the great way, to cultivate his mind, and to realize that fate arises from the heart and ends with thoughts.

So do what you feel like, and helping others is also helping yourself.

His way of saving people is different from that of Mahayana Buddhism.

Others may be Buddhas, saving people for various reasons.

For Wuming, saving others is for his own benefit.

Theravada Buddhism is not that lofty and does not have any great ambition to save the world.

The so-called self-improvement means that only when you save yourself from the sea of suffering can you save others.

It’s just that Wuming himself couldn’t bear to see the sufferings of the world, so in order to save himself, he needed to save others as well. That’s why he went down the mountain.

They look similar but their fundamental nature is different.

Just like today, every temple has closed its gates and hidden itself from the world.

But not everyone is willing to choose this way, so they all go down the mountain by themselves and become worldly people from then on, no longer being outsiders who are cut off from the world.

It is not only Taoists who are saving the world. In fact, there are also angry-eyed Vajras who are burning with resentment. They cannot give up their anger and cannot practice Buddhism, so they have to leave the mountain.
