Chapter 41: Simple Ideas

"I've improved too quickly lately, which has made this cheap master wary."

A sense of foreboding rose in Han Feng's heart.

Li Changsheng has a jealous nature.

His three disciples were too talented, and just as they were about to break through to the Core Formation stage, he used underhanded means to kill them.

As for why Hu Yingying and Leng Boran were not harmed, it was because their aptitude was too poor, making it difficult for them to break through to the Core Formation stage.

Han Feng's performance during this period has been outstanding.

Others, even at their most formidable early Foundation Establishment stage, were defeated in the top 50.

Han Feng directly entered the top four and will compete against the strongest Foundation Establishment cultivator from the Star Moon Sect.

This level of talent and combat ability far surpasses that of the three disciples whom Li Changsheng has already murdered.

How could he prevent Li Changsheng from becoming jealous and developing a desire to kill Han Feng?

Han Feng was also filled with helplessness.

He wanted to break through to the Core Formation stage as quickly as possible in order to win the reward of first place in the Four Sects Competition.

During this period, he had to reveal his true strength.

However, Han Feng was not too worried, as Li Changsheng was a hypocrite.

He wouldn't openly attack Han Feng; he prefers to kill him through underhanded means.

As long as Han Feng is careful enough, he should be able to survive.

"My unlucky constitution is just too much."

Han Feng couldn't help but sigh repeatedly.

Before the competition even began, his cheap master was already plotting how to kill him.

Han Feng snapped out of his thoughts and walked to the competition square.

"I didn't expect someone at the early Foundation Establishment stage to have made it this far in the Four Sects Competition. You're really lucky." Zhao Yan didn't take Han Feng seriously at all.

"You think it's luck?" Han Feng smiled faintly. "I don't think so."

"You're quite confident. I won't give you the chance to admit defeat."

Zhao Yan unleashed a top-grade giant axe, urging it to strike Han Feng.

Han Feng also summoned a small bronze shield and placed it beside him for protection.

The battle between the two top-grade magical artifacts was so intense that it was difficult to determine a winner for the time being.

Han Feng then unleashed his silver sword magic weapon, aiming it at Zhao Yan himself.

Zhao Yan revealed a disdainful smile and also summoned a small golden shield.

The golden shield is a top-grade magical artifact; the silver sword simply cannot penetrate it.

The two fought for a time without a clear winner, which surprised everyone.

Those who had previously boasted that Han Feng wouldn't last more than three seconds all shut their mouths, secretly heartbroken over the loss of their spirit stones.

The only ones who ran the gambling den had mixed feelings of surprise and affection towards Han Feng.

He was astonished by Han Feng's terrifying strength, which completely overturned his worldview.

Love must be the spirit stone that Han Feng has persisted with for so long, one that has already won over everyone.

"Chang Sheng, your disciple is indeed skilled. He was able to fight Zhao Yan to a standstill. Even if he lost in the end, it wouldn't be shameful."

Li Shenhai's gaze toward Han Feng grew increasingly fond of him.

If Han Feng weren't Li Changsheng's disciple, he would have wanted to take him on as a disciple as well.

Li Changsheng's eyes flickered: "I never expected my disciple to have such terrifying strength. It seems I really underestimated him."

"It seems you do have some skills, but two magical artifacts are not enough."

Zhao Yan then unleashed another large seal and hurled it at Han Feng.

Han Feng immediately sensed something was wrong and hurriedly dodged, summoning a high-grade magic artifact, a small bronze shield, to block.

With a loud "boom".

The large seal slammed into the small bronze shield.

After the two collided, three cracks were clearly visible on the bronze shield.

"Another top-grade magic artifact!"

Han Feng's eyes flickered.

If he hadn't used his small bronze shield, his men would have been killed if they had been hit by that large seal.

"You won't be so lucky next time."

Zhao Yan revealed a cruel smile as he channeled his magical power into the seal.

The seal absorbed enough magical power and slammed it down towards Han Feng.

Han Feng also poured all his magic power into the bronze shield, unleashing power far exceeding that of the bronze shield itself.

With a loud "boom!"

This time the sound was even louder than before.

The bronze shield shattered completely, and even Han Feng felt a sharp pain in his chest and abdomen.

If I hadn't pushed the bronze shield to its limit, that seal could have crushed me to death.

"Do you have any high-grade magic artifacts on you?"

After damaging one of Han Feng's top-grade magic artifacts, Zhao Yan's smile grew even colder.

"I only have one top-grade magic weapon, and you only have one life."

What do you mean by that?

Zhao Yan immediately had a bad feeling.

By the time he fully realized what was happening, it was too late.

A lifelike puppet maidservant shot out a beam of light from her mouth, heading straight for Zhao Yan's head.

Caught off guard, half of Zhao Yan's head was blown off by the beam of light.

Brain matter and blood mingled together and flowed out of the wound in large quantities, looking quite gruesome and terrifying.

Even though Zhao Yan was a pseudo-core stage cultivator, he was still alive even after losing half of his head.

The intense pain drove Zhao Yan to hysteria, and he wanted to smash the maid puppet that had ambushed him to pieces.

He wielded his giant axe, a top-grade magical weapon, and slashed at the maid puppet.

The maid puppet was no match for them; it avoided the core head and arms but was chopped into pieces.

I'm going to kill you!

The pain from losing half of his head intensified, causing Zhao Yan to completely lose his mind.

In the moment he completely lost his mind, a silver sword slashed across Zhao Yan's neck, and his head flew off.
