A belated summary and some random things [actually just asking for leave]
well.
There are a few days every month...
I just can't think of anything.
Looking at the records, I haven’t had a rest for more than half a month…
hey-hey.
As a newcomer, I feel more and more that writing online articles is not easy. It may not be about writing books, but about persistence. It is really difficult to persist in making energy output.
In particular, I have very high requirements for energy output. I have always stipulated to myself that every three to five hundred words must have at least one or two points that can stimulate people.
Can't be boring.
Boredom is something I absolutely cannot stand.
(Especially at the beginning of the month, when I still have plenty of leave notes.) So when I sit for most of the day and still can’t think of anything, I really don’t want to write a few thousand dry words. Although I know that sometimes, readers may not be too demanding after reading by inertia.
But I still, um... just wish the whole book had a higher concentration of enjoyable content.
I mentioned before that I wanted to write a summary at the end of the volume.
Why didn't I write it? Of course it's not because I'm lazy. It's because I posted a few chapters in the middle of last month. I was a little worried that too many words or comments from the author would make people feel bored, so I put it aside.
I just happen to be able to talk about it briefly today.
If there are readers who have read the entire book, I’m not sure what they feel, but they should be able to notice that the approach of the second volume is completely different from that of the first.
In the second volume, I tried to use a lot of folk tales or classic stories, using the shell of a classic story to write some novel ideas. Actually, I think... it should be quite interesting, right? Not too stiff.
However, this method will not be used often in the future. After all, using other people's things is a trick. If you have aspirations, you should use more of your own things.
Using the core of your own story to tell your own story in an attractive way is difficult, but it will give you a greater sense of accomplishment.
However, as I have mentioned many times, the preparation before publishing this book was seriously insufficient, and I never thought that I would get the results I have today... Although it is just okay, it is quite unexpected for me...
I don’t have any outline, rough outline, or detailed outline...so every day when the plot unfolds I’m walking on thin ice.
I know that if I update more, I will earn more, get more subscriptions, and rank higher...
However, if the plot is not well grasped, the story and characters will collapse... So it takes a long time to think about it, and adding jokes later, the whole process is still quite difficult.
For an unskilled writer like me.
I have also wondered why this book has suddenly become popular. It may be because happiness is a basic need for people.
My whole purpose is to be funny.
So sometimes, when weighing some plot points, I might suppress some of the "funny" parts for the sake of comedy.
Because this book may look like a cool novel, but all the coolness is actually for the sake of being funny. If you look carefully, you will find that I don't have any traditional "bitter and vengeful" coolness here, only weird and strange coolness.
Because I can't write cool stories, I can only write funny stories.
I wanted to find some books with similar styles to mine, but found that there were almost none. After thinking for a long time, the only one that might be similar to mine is "The First Chaos in History"? This kind of extreme nonsense hidden under the legitimate plot, I think it has a bit of that meaning.
Really, being nonsensical doesn’t mean you have to be crazy, psychotic, or illogical. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. If you want to insert some “crazy” things into the plot in a reasonable way, the framework must be very stable.
And besides.
I am indeed an artistic young man with literary ideals. I have high standards for my writing style. Sometimes, in order to meet the deadline, I would feel particularly painful if I submitted a chapter without any polishing. Although I know that 99% of readers will not care about this, I personally feel very uncomfortable when I read it.
The barrier of writing style has isolated me from most online articles, and I don’t want my own to be isolated.
Then what.
I also have high expectations for the plot. For each volume, I hope to make it into a large framework with nested plot relationships. However, the amount of updates here means it is impossible to be perfect.
It's not entirely due to the amount of updates. Plot has always been my weak point, probably because I haven't read many online novels. It's hard for me to support a novel of several million words with just a few random plots.
As for the third volume, I will still work hard towards my highest expectations. As for how far I can go, we'll just have to wait and see.
Anyway, aim for the best and take the middle, aim for the middle and take the bottom. There is nothing wrong with having higher ideals.
I think what makes me better than other literary teenagers is that I am willing to please readers.
I don't have any weird obsessions. I like any plot that readers like, and I don't like any plot that readers don't like.
Therefore, any approach or character may have a first attempt, and after that attempt it will definitely be based on the readers’ preferences to determine whether he will appear a second time.
A typical one is the chapter called “Chen Huaji’s Dog-licking Diary”. I wonder if you remember it.
I particularly liked that chapter, and I kept deleting and revising it until eight in the morning. Before going to bed, I was thinking about making you laugh to death, but when I opened my eyes, I found that the negative reviews and positive reviews were half and half, and many people suspected that I was watering down the chapter.
I……
I was so angry at the time, but later I thought about it and I could understand it. After all, my update volume was not that large, and inserting a chapter that was irrelevant to the advancement of the plot and characters, no wonder people gave bad reviews.
So after that I stopped writing those little chapters about characters.
If I have time in the future, I might write a little for fun. Then I'll put it out for free on days like this, so that everyone can watch it to relieve boredom. This might be a better idea.
Another point is that I discovered why it is difficult to write a long invincible article.
Because the invincible flow is particularly destructive to the framework.
For example, I wanted to write a few outstanding supporting characters, like the one in the previous chapter, Zhan Liuming, and I had high expectations for him. But as I was writing, I found that he was weird.
If I want to write about how powerful he is, I have to make him beat others. But in order to highlight the protagonist's invincibility, he has to lose, and all enemies have to be dealt with by the protagonist.
This will overshadow the supporting characters.
And I can't use a lot of space to portray him, because this is an online novel, and I can't go without seeing the protagonist for several chapters.
Many people have recommended the way of writing supporting characters in One Punch Man before, but One Punch Man is an animation, so they can portray the supporting characters for a long time and then let the protagonist appear and end it with one punch.
It is difficult to achieve this online.
Then there is the background framework. It is easy for an invincible protagonist to jump out of the world ceiling while fighting. This is something everyone understands.
I may have to figure out on my own how to balance the characters and background.
What’s worse is that, at the same time, nonsense also destroys the framework.
Because nonsensical ideas are often used to advance the plot, it is certainly eye-catching, but if it happens too often, the style of the book will be completely distorted.
By then, no matter what foreshadowing you put in or what hidden connections you embed, readers won't care.
It's like knowing that you are a magician. No one will guess where your coin is. They just want to see what new tricks you have.
Such basic logic no longer applies in this world, and you can no longer set it up like this.
It's a bit troublesome to explain, but it's actually a book that everyone agrees doesn't require any brainpower to read, so it's difficult to set up suspense or foreshadowing.
It's like I'm carrying two huge mines at the same time, jumping back and forth on the edge of collapse.
These are the difficulties I have to overcome.
It’s a little difficult, but I like doing it. I like reading interesting stories and I also like writing interesting stories to share with others. So I didn’t feel it was too much effort to write all the way.
I am also very grateful to the good brothers who have supported me until now, both male and female brothers.
I hope you can forgive my lack of ability.
I really rely on inspiration and sparks to write, and it is difficult to guarantee that I am full of energy every day.
So I plan to pick up my fitness plan as soon as I get home, because I find that exercising well and staying energetic may also be a manifestation of dedication.
By now, you can tell that I'm not lazy, it's easy to type 2,000 to 3,000 words in an hour. If I want to, it's not hard to write 4,000 to 5,000 words.
In particular, I recently discovered the tricks of online writers in terms of textual content, dialogues and fighting.
You don't need to think about these two things. Typing out a few thousand words is as easy as pie.
So one day, if you find that I start to use long sections of meaningless dialogues and lengthy descriptions of fights to fill up chapters, that is definitely watering down the text, and I allow you to insult me at that time.
As for being criticized for making some jokes and complaints before, that's really unfair.
Seriously speaking, as long as my life is stable, my work and rest schedule is regular, and I am in good health, I will definitely increase the amount of updates.
I'm still a newcomer, I'm still very adaptable, I still have a chance...
I personally feel that I only write a few thousand words a day, which are gone after just a few minutes of reading. It's too short.
My ideal is to update about 10,000 words a day without reducing the quality, which should be able to meet basic reading needs.
It's just too difficult, oops.
I want to write good books, write more, and have time to play. It’s too difficult.
But I will try my best!
I hope that friends who read this book will also work hard, study well, work hard, smile every day, and be full of positive energy.
You guys keep pushing me to work harder all day long, but actually I should be pushing you too.
When you all become big bosses and won't be stingy with a small silver alliance, I'm sure my life will improve a lot.
(The salted fish author hopes that readers will get rich all day long.) Come on, everyone.
