Final remarks: See you in Jianghu
ah……
I thought about what to write in my final remarks a long time ago.
At this point, I still feel like I don’t know what to say. My feelings are quite complicated, with some feeling of happiness, some relief, and some reluctance.
Maybe for you, it just means that a novel that you really liked has come to an end.
But for me, it was the end of a very wonderful stage in my life. From July 2020, I quit my job, started a book, wrote without expectation, to the first time in my life, I suddenly became a full-time author. Then when my performance was rising, I suddenly fell seriously ill and have been recuperating until now.
I guess I've experienced some ups and downs in life. When I typed the last word last night on New Year's Eve, I felt a little complicated. . .
I know I haven't updated much, but it's really tiring for me. Every day after I finish writing with full concentration, I have to lie on the sofa and relax for an hour or two before I can slowly recover.
But when I was sitting there yesterday, I felt like I hadn’t written enough, and wondered if I could add something more.
As for the content of the book, it is lively, cheerful, and nonsensical, and there is nothing worth thinking about. But I have been working hard to create this relaxed and happy atmosphere, and I think it has been conveyed. Later, many brothers didn't care what I wrote, they just clicked in for fun. Seeing that there is such a magnetic field in the book that can make people happy, I am also very happy.
I actually wanted to leave a blank for the ending of this book. There are hints that Li Chu might go to the fairyland, or he might go back to the modern times, or he might go to the present.
As for where he went, it depends on where you want him to go.
I saw some comments that regretted not mentioning the endings of some supporting characters, as they were lost in the middle of writing. But it would be too much to mention all the supporting characters in this book. Anyway, in the universe of this book, as long as you are a good person, you will live a happy life, and that's enough.
Of course, if it is a bad person, then he must be at peace.
There is also the Chaoge chapter, which was indeed the map I originally intended to be the finale. I designed some rules for the immortal sect imperial examinations, incorporated some game modes from League of Legends and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, as well as the plot of Lu Xiaofeng's final battle on the top of the Forbidden City. It was one of the first maps I thought of.
But the subsequent plot development is that in the end, the protagonist is unlikely to participate in that level of competition. If it is moved forward, it will be placed in the middle.
The style is different from the previous volumes, and I am not sure whether it will have a good effect. Because many books change their style in the middle of the year, which is the beginning of a sharp drop in subscriptions. So after thinking about it, I decided not to add it.
I am satisfied with the overall performance of this book. The highest average subscription was 28,000, and it was 25,000 when it was finished. If I continue to write, it may continue to drop.
Apart from the readers who left due to my illness, there has been almost no period of significant drop in subscriptions, which shows that the overall quality is still stable and has not declined significantly.
The writing in the later stages is certainly not as patient as in the earlier ones, which may be a bit unfriendly to readers who demand elegant writing, but the plot design is more sophisticated.
In the first half, there were often some plots that were considered "toxic" by some readers, but this rarely happened in the later period, because I was also in the process of gradually figuring out the readers' preferences.
For an author, it is a blessing that so many readers are willing to grow with me in my first book. So I always treat readers as my good friends.
I’m tired of saying thank you to my family.
The first book took me a year and a half to write, which was too tiring for me. I was exhausted both physically and mentally, so I plan to take a two-month break, wait until I recover and can update more, and then start a new book.
In the next two months, I might prepare a new book, or write some short stories or novellas to keep my touch. After all, writing is a skill that needs practice, and you can't just sit there for a long time, and I really like writing.
I had an idea before, which was to write a second-person novel like writing a script-killing game, so that the sense of substitution should be very strong. People have written about the first-person and third-person, but I have never seen the second-person. Or just write like a game, give several plot directions while writing and let the readers choose, and then write the next chapter based on the readers' choices.
I created a reader group today. The group number can be seen at the end of each chapter. If you are interested, you can join it. After all, there will be no subsequent updates. If you want to know my recent situation or ask me about my situation, you can ask in the group.
But I won’t necessarily return.
Hahahaha, because I don’t use QQ very often, I have never liked to set up a reader group. A few days ago, my editor advised me to set up one, saying that it would be beneficial to announce the publication of a book in the group.
I think so too. I said that there are about two to three thousand people who have subscribed to the book so far. If I have such a readership, then the next book I publish will be invincible.
After that, the editor said, "That's really invincible. Because the full subscription group of the Lord of Mysteries only has 2,000 to 3,000 people. How could everyone join the group? You are dreaming."
Then he advised me to recognize myself and set the entry threshold to 2000 fans. I thought about it and decided to set it at 1888, which was a bit more auspicious.
In addition to this QQ group, if you want to contact me, you can also follow me on Douyin. 183031872, just call me Pei Bu Le. This is more like a circle of friends, I will post some of my moods at ordinary times. Hahaha, if there are more followers on Douyin, I will have more confidence when sending private messages to beautiful bloggers (just kidding) (really not).
If I publish a new book, I will tell you in the group and also notify you in a separate chapter after this book, so don’t delete it from your bookshelf yet.
Let me emphasize this again at the end.
During this time, I am really, really, really grateful to everyone.
It really is.
The people of this country can tolerate me and not make money by committing sins.
I sincerely wish you all a happy New Year, good health and happiness.
so.
Um……
What I want to say.
That’s about it.
The ancients said that we will meet each other everywhere in life.
The ancients also said that all good things must come to an end.
So every story has an end, which is inevitable. But after the end there will also be a new beginning, which is also certain.
To borrow a phrase from Mr. Jin Yong.
Look at the white clouds in the sky, gathering and dispersing, dispersing and gathering again.
The stories in the human world are just like this.
So yeah.
Peach blossoms are hard to come by, but spring breeze is not far away.
I hope you all stay young. See you in the future.
