Chapter 31 Changfeng, why are you so good to me?
As their lips and teeth met, the air rapidly heated up.
A faint scent of cedar enveloped her, and her posture this time was different from the last.
He was on top, she was on the bottom.
In the darkness, no one could see the other's expression, yet they were all confused and lost their sense of propriety.
Tonight felt different. From turning off the lights to applying the medicine, to hugging and kissing her, everything made her body temperature rise.
Something strange seemed to be emerging from the depths of her frozen body, carrying a slightly tingling heat that urged her to accept, succumb to, and respond.
This is the first time in twenty-eight years that I've felt this way.
It was an impulse related to lust.
She was a stranger to me, yet I couldn't control myself.
The man's right hand pinched her earlobe lightly, causing her body to involuntarily flinch.
He then kissed her more deeply, with an aggressive allure.
His palms were hot and burning, the calluses sliding down to her shoulders, where only a bra strap remained.
It was peeled off along with the rest of the garment and hung loosely to one side.
The blanket slipped off, and a cold wind blew in, but I didn't feel cold.
His hand slid down her waistline.
This is the third time my nightgown has been lifted up tonight.
But it wasn't for applying medicine.
The rough texture of his fingertips brushed across her leg from bottom to top, like sparks falling on dry straw, instantly igniting a strange, tingling sensation.
His movements were slow, a mixture of probing and suppressed urgency.
When his fingertips brushed against her inner thigh, he paused noticeably, deliberately avoiding her wound, and continued to explore upwards.
His breathing suddenly became heavy, and the breath that landed on her neck was scorching hot.
"Rong Chengzhou..." she murmured softly, her voice warm and moist.
"Hmm?" His lips brushed against her collarbone, and he responded vaguely.
The last syllable rose slightly, and the voice was incredibly hoarse.
The rest of the words were left unsaid.
She was just feeling uncomfortable from the swelling in her body and couldn't help but want to call his name.
That's all.
However, this sound gradually awakened Rong Chengzhou's consciousness.
The movement suddenly stopped, and did not continue.
He did not take any contraceptive measures.
She said she didn't want children.
He lingered on her for a few seconds, his breathing still heavy. Finally, he restrained himself and withdrew his hand, pulling down her skirt to cover her slender, fair legs.
The blanket was put back over her, and Jiang Mingxue gradually regained consciousness.
She looked up at him with her bright, moist eyes.
The veins on the back of the man's clenched hand bulged slightly, Rong Chengzhou's jawline tightened, and he pulled up the two shoulder straps.
He leaned down and gently kissed her lips, his voice still hoarse with lingering passion:
"I was presumptuous tonight, I should get some rest."
Jiang Mingxue's face flushed, and she pursed her lips slightly: "It's nothing."
Rong Chengzhou stood by the bed, stared at her for a few seconds, and then slowly turned around.
Without turning on the lights, Jiang Mingxue only saw a tall silhouette walk to the bedroom door and open it.
The light from the living room seeped in through the crack in the door, only to be blocked again as the door opened and closed.
The room returned to silence. Jiang Mingxue gently touched her lips with her fingers, lost in thought.
His warmth still lingered on it, and the scenes from just now played back in my mind like a movie.
He wasn't the only one who lost control tonight; she did too.
If she pushes him away in time, Rong Chengzhou will not continue against her wishes.
It's normal for newlywed couples to have sex sometimes.
She did not regret her actions and even experienced a feeling she had never had before.
Like lying on a cloud, feeling light and airy.
It feels quite comfortable.
This feeling is truly wonderful.
She even felt a little greedy.
only......
She looked up at the doorway, in the direction Rong Chengzhou had left.
The tears in her eyes gradually receded, leaving behind a misty surface of water, and a hint of pity rose in her eyes.
Being able to stop at the crucial moment further confirmed her and Madam Rong's suspicions.
She stared intently at the doorway, letting out a soft sigh in her heart.
Rong Chengzhou himself must be feeling very bad.
--
Rong Chengzhou was certainly in pain, but it wasn't the kind of pain that comes from being powerless to do anything; rather, it was a pain that was unbearably stifled.
He was afraid that if he stayed in Jiang Mingxue's master bedroom for even a second longer, he would lose control again, so he even took a shower in the second bedroom.
"Sir, dinner is still warm. Would you like to eat now?" Aunt Lian asked as she saw him come out of the restaurant.
Rong Chengzhou's face was cold and stern. He walked straight to the second bedroom without stopping and said, "I'm not eating."
"OK."
Aunt Lian was sensible and never interfered in her master's affairs.
After clearing away and throwing away the food from the restaurant, and tidying up the kitchen and dining room, I left Songyunting.
Jiang Mingxue lay on the bed for a while, waiting for the heat to subside, then turned on the light and got up to go to the bathroom.
My vision suddenly became bright, and I felt a little disoriented for a moment.
She stood in front of the bathroom sink and looked up at herself in the mirror.
In the spotless mirror, a blush spread from her earlobes to her cheeks, and it hadn't faded even after all this time.
She lowered her eyes slightly and caught a glimpse of several dark red marks on her neck and collarbone, all traces left by Rong Chengzhou on her body.
She casually withdrew her gaze and changed into a new pair of underwear.
I washed it clean and hung it to dry on the balcony of my bedroom, then dried it a little.
After all that fuss, my hair is almost completely dry now.
Only the ends of my hair were not completely dry.
After finishing all these things, it was already nine o'clock at night, and Rong Chengzhou still hadn't returned.
It was still early, and she usually went to her study to look at medical books, but she wasn't really in the mood today.
He then lay back down on the bed and looked at his phone.
After replying to WeChat messages and browsing through my Moments, I didn't know what to do next.
With nothing to do, I tapped through all the entertainment apps on my phone that I hadn't thought to open for two months, but it felt like no information got into my brain.
Just then, the bedroom door opened.
Jiang Mingxue quickly turned off her phone, placed it beside her pillow, and closed her eyes.
She was lying on her side with her back to the door. Rong Chengzhou walked in from outside, glanced at the bed first, closed the door very quietly, and slowly walked to the bedside.
My gaze fell on her pillow, where her phone, which should have been on the table, was now on the bed for the first time.
His gaze lingered on her back for a few seconds, then he said nothing, turned off the bedroom light, and lay down under the covers.
Jiang Mingxue is able to remain calm and composed in any field, but she is completely clueless about matters of the heart. Not knowing how to avoid the awkwardness after an ambiguous relationship, she pretends to be asleep to cover it up.
Feeling the other side of the bed sink slightly, she closed her eyes even tighter.
My mind was unusually clear, and I couldn't fall asleep for a long time.
Suddenly, Rong Chengzhou's voice rang out beside her pillow. The hoarseness had faded, replaced by his usual clear and magnetic voice.
Seemingly knowing she was pretending to be asleep, he spoke up: "Ning Jialing's mother is my friend, and she went to the same school as me. When I was in my senior year of high school, she was still in the first year of junior high school. Her mother asked me to deliver some tutoring materials to her once, and Yu Feijie and I took her to and from school together."
"After that, I went to military school and we didn't keep in touch much. Until five years ago, when I was on leave and went home, she suddenly came to my house and asked me to be her boyfriend."
“I refused.” He paused, then continued, “She’s a good girl, but you can’t force feelings. What she said to me today was about your injury, nothing else.”
He paused, turned to look at her, and said slowly, “I have never had any extra entanglements with anyone else. Not before you, not since we got married, and certainly not in the future.”
He spoke so solemnly that Jiang Mingxue could no longer pretend.
She slowly opened her eyes and replied, "I know, Miss Ning told me."
She spoke softly, "Actually, you don't need to explain so much to me. I believe you." "Mm," Rong Chengzhou replied calmly.
After a few seconds of silence, she asked again, "And what about you?"
"Huh?" Jiang Mingxue tilted her head, puzzled.
"How did you feel when you heard what she said?" he suddenly asked.
Jiang Mingxue thought for a moment and answered truthfully, "She said it so suddenly, I was a little surprised."
"Anything else?"
"Hmm... Miss Ning is very frank, I really like her personality."
He continued, "Is there anything else?"
Jiang Mingxue frowned and turned to look at him.
What else could it be?
What do you want to know?
Rong Chengzhou was stumped by the question.
He didn't know what he wanted to ask. He originally just wanted to know if she felt offended, but he felt that the answer was not enough.
After a long silence, he said:
"It's nothing, go to sleep."
"Oh." That's inexplicable.
Jiang Mingxue turned her head, completely bewildered. The atmosphere had eased considerably during the conversation, and she fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.
The next day, she picked out a white shirt with a high collar from her closet to cover her collarbone and neck.
While eating breakfast, Rong Chengzhou looked down at her high-necked shirt and asked, "Aren't you hot?"
Jiang Mingxue: "......?"
Anyone can ask that question, but not him.
She didn't speak, but just stared back at him intently.
"......"
Seemingly realizing something, a fine crack appeared on Rong Chengzhou's usually calm face.
He looked away and picked up the glass on the table to drink some water.
It was still quite hot in the late summer in the north of the city, and wearing a turtleneck shirt was a bit stuffy.
Fortunately, the clinic had plenty of air conditioning, so I didn't feel hot while seeing patients.
When Xu Yan finished preparing the medicine and came over, she immediately noticed something was wrong. She raised an eyebrow at her and said, "Sis, wearing a turtleneck in the middle of summer, isn't that a bit of a fuss?"
Jiang Mingxue took the medicine packet and pretended to be calm: "It's better than not covering it up at all."
Xu Yan: "Tsk, that's true."
Jiang Mingxue looked around but couldn't find anyone, so she asked, "By the way, where's Aze?"
"I don't know." Xu Yan shook her head. "I didn't see him when I came."
Jiang Mingxue frowned slightly and glanced at her phone.
Yan Ze did not ask her for leave.
He would never have done this before.
Xu Yan guessed, "Maybe something happened at home."
Jiang Mingxue remained silent; only she knew that Yan Ze had no parents.
After thinking for a moment, I lowered my eyes and sent a message:
[Aze, why didn't you come to the clinic today?]
【Cheng Ying and I are going to Huzhou Gorge on Saturday, do you want to come?】
After sending the message, I turned off my phone and continued seeing patients.
Back at Songyunting that evening, after dinner and a bath, Jiang Mingxue started decocting the medicine.
Yesterday, Rong Chengzhou's antics prevented me from even decocting my medicine, and of course, I didn't eat it this morning either. I absolutely must continue taking it today.
While decocting the medicine, she went to the study to organize medical records. Halfway through, she suddenly thought of something, got up, went to the bookshelf, took down a book on "Traditional Chinese Medicine Andrology" and carefully looked through it, making notes in her notebook.
By the time I had finished examining everything, the medicine was almost ready to be decocted.
She put away the medical book, poured out the medicine, put it on the dining table to cool, and then took it to Rong Chengzhou's study.
He was drawing on the table when he saw her arrive. He put down his pen, took the medicine, and said, "I'll just go out and drink it myself next time."
Jiang Mingxue smiled slightly: "It's alright. You finally got a vacation, so get some rest."
Her tone was gentle and considerate. Rong Chengzhou paused slightly as he held the medicine bowl, a ripple appearing in his eyes. He glanced at her, then slowly looked away.
After he finished drinking his medicine, Jiang Mingxue asked, "Is there anything else going on later?"
Rong Chengzhou put down his bowl: "Nothing's wrong, what's the matter?"
Jiang Mingxue used the words she had prepared beforehand: "I noticed that Instructor Lu has developed many health problems in his later years and looks like he's suffering a lot. I thought since you're at home all the time, I wanted to help you with acupuncture."
Rong Chengzhou's eyebrows twitched slightly, but he didn't respond. He simply said calmly, "You've been acting a little differently lately."
Jiang Mingxue's eyelids twitched involuntarily: "How is it different?"
Rong Chengzhou lowered his eyes to look at the medicine bowl and stated slowly and deliberately, "Decocting medicine, massaging, and now, because you're worried about my health, you want to give me acupuncture. These are not things you would have done before."
Jiang Mingxue felt guilty and made up an excuse: "I just saw how hard you work to protect our country and wanted to do something for you as much as possible."
What she said is completely unfounded.
Rong Chengzhou remained silent, lifting his eyelids to gaze into her eyes, his gaze and words carrying a hint of inquiry:
"Jiang Mingxue, why are you so good to me?"
