On the big screen, the story continues.
There weren't many people in the cinema, and they were scattered here and there. All you could see were couples who were absent-minded and only thinking about what to eat later, some college students with nothing to do, and some unemployed idlers. The person watching the movie most attentively was probably the cleaning lady who was preparing to clean up the place.
Lu Ban sat in the back row. He watched the joys and sorrows in the movie, but he felt a sense of alienation.
Sitting next to him were Du Danping and Song Yunyan.
Both of them look very young, as if they were frozen in the best age, full of infinite hope.
"How about it?"
Lu Ban asked.
The two looked over.
"Not bad, huh? If only my death wasn't so tragic in the end. My head was blown off by a crowbar that I mistook for a baseball. It's ridiculous no matter how you look at it."
Du Danping protested.
"I think my acting skills could be better. Alas, I didn't grasp the character's psychology well."
Song Yunyan touched her face and murmured.
"That's great. We may have a chance to work together in the future."
Lu Ban smiled and shook hands with the two of them.
When he looked up, they were gone, replaced by Stone.
"I originally thought I was the protagonist. After all, you see, I grew up from a young boy to the head of a gang, met love, and then inherited the mantle of a detective after repenting. This is a complete protagonist template!"
Stone was wearing a long trench coat and had a somewhat shy smile on his face.
"Next time, the protagonist will definitely look for you."
Lu Ban laughed.
"I have to have a happy ending."
Stone said.
“It hasn’t been written yet.”
Lu Ban patted Stone's shoulder, and the chair next to him turned into a petite girl again.
The girl was crying, her eyes were red and swollen, and she looked pitiful.
"Don't cry, Lin, you've behaved very well."
Lu Ban rubbed the other person's head.
"Really?"
Lin asked uncertainly, looking at Lu Ban eagerly.
"Of course, you are the best!"
Lu Ban pinched her face and put his hands on her shoulders.
"So, it's time to move on."
"Um."
Lin nodded vigorously, she stood up, turned around and jogged, and soon disappeared at the end of the seats.
"You are quite good at coaxing children."
A voice was heard from the other side of Lu Ban. Lu Ban turned around and saw Hongye sitting in a seat separated from Lu Ban.
"It's nothing."
Lu Ban replied.
"I thought we had already finished filming, but you pulled me back to shoot another scene. It's just that this plot has a hidden meaning."
Hongye said with a little dissatisfaction.
"I think you are suitable to appear."
Lu Ban laughed.
“… Never mind. I like this story anyway.”
Hongye held it in for a while, and finally laughed out loud, and she asked again.
"I am a little curious, what will be my ending?"
"I haven't decided yet, but maybe I'll live quietly somewhere."
Lu Ban thought for a moment before answering.
"That's not bad."
Hongye nodded and spoke earnestly.
"You are always so heartless to girls. You need to change this habit. Look at the plots you shoot. Don't you have any heart?"
"Next time, for sure."
Lu Ban answered.
"Then I'll go first. It looks like there are quite a lot of people waiting for you over there."
Hongye stood up leisurely, took two steps, and turned back.
"However, if we meet in another situation, maybe I will really be tempted, hehe."
She turned and left without looking back.
“Tsk tsk.”
A voice came from behind Lu Ban. He looked back and found Charlotte sitting right behind him.
"After all the hard work I put in, this is the outcome?"
She seemed a little unhappy.
"Look, your goal is to backstab the real me. Now I have arranged for the clone to be crushed to ashes along with the real me. Has that fulfilled your long-cherished wish?"
Lu Ban answered as a matter of course.
"What you said seems to make some sense."
Charlotte said disdainfully, leaning forward again.
"But even so, in the new world, you can't stop everything from running towards tragedy. The world will gradually cool down, and no matter how long the dream is, there will be a time to wake up."
"I see."
Lu Ban nodded.
The plot of the movie seemed to have reached a tense point, with light and shadow interweaving, and many viewers who had been absent-minded began to watch it seriously.
"Anyway, being able to do this is already amazing. As an avatar, I probably can't understand human emotions, but because of this, I find communication and interaction between humans very interesting."
Charlotte put a finger to her lips and said as she thought.
"Maybe there, I can experience this as a human being."
"Yes."
Lu Ban nodded.
"Then I'll be leaving now. It seems you're quite busy. I wonder if you can solve the problem by the time the movie is over."
Charlotte pulled out a fan from somewhere, opened it, covered her face, and quickly disappeared into the darkness.
"I didn't expect you to make such a choice."
On Lu Ban’s right, a man in a shirt spoke as if relieved.
Gu Du looked at Lu Ban with emotion and said.
"Just like you, isn't it?"
Lu Ban asked back.
"That's true."
Gudu did not deny it.
"I heard that before a person dies, he or she will enter a movie theater, where all the memorable things in his or her life will be shown. When the movie ends, life will also come to an end."
Lu Ban murmured.
"What I heard was the novel version."
Gu Du sighed as he looked at the characters showing their joys, sorrows, anger and happiness on the screen.
"This movie's still a little while longer, but I should go now."
"Well, have a nice trip."
Lu Ban waved his hand.
"Isn't it time to say goodbye?"
Gu Du said, and when he saw that Lu Ban did not respond, he smiled and left the row of seats.
The area around Lu Ban suddenly became much quieter.
He was able to take time out to watch the film.
From Lu Ban's perspective, the setting of this movie is full of flaws, contradictions and vagueness are everywhere, the actors' acting skills are sometimes good and sometimes bad, not to mention the plot, most of which are old-fashioned stories that have been told in Shakespeare's time.
But there are always some bright spots that people will still recall one afternoon long after work when they stand in front of the window of the tea room and look at the lush world outside.
Lu Ban laughed along with the characters in the movie, and sometimes fell into silence. The light and shadows reflected on his face, making it colorful.
“Does it look good?”
Another voice sounded beside Lu Ban.
He turned around and saw Amber.
