Massachusetts sounded a level one combat alert, and all inspectors rushed to Boston Harbor. The Massachusetts army also received orders and began preparing to go to Boston to fight against the unidentified creatures at sea.
One after another, armed helicopters appeared in the blue sea and sky, carrying a large number of American soldiers to establish a defense line in Boston Harbor.
"Who can tell me where these guys came from?!"
The soldiers transported from the Spectacle Island military base were extremely nervous. They held their rifles and encouraged each other to relieve their inner tension: "What are they, aliens or underwater monsters?!"
To be honest, they have no idea what to do now.
Although the military operations were dangerous, at least the opponents were human beings. But now... they don’t even know what kind of monster the opponent is!
"I don't know. We have very little information right now. We only know that their scales can resist bullets. The only way to kill them is to shoot their eyes!"
The officer on the helicopter shouted to every soldier with a serious expression: "Remember to shoot their eyes!"
"The Air Force will bomb Boston Harbor at 1 p.m. sharp. Our mission is to evacuate residents near Boston Harbor!"
"Did you hear that clearly?!"
"I hear you clearly, sir!"
The soldiers stood at attention and spoke in unison, each of them listening attentively as their leader described the monster's characteristics.
No one wants to die, so of course you have to listen carefully to your opponent's characteristics.
"So...that's the enemy we're going to face?"
Looking outside the helicopter at the huge six-armed giant, Dagon, the god of the sea, on the coastline, all the soldiers widened their eyes, some of them could not believe their eyes.
"Yes, if you're scared, then go home and drink your milk. This is not a place for women!"
The commander's rebuke made the soldiers shut up. Everyone on the plane fell silent and didn't say anything else, but the tension in their eyes couldn't be concealed at all.
A moment later, a loud noise was heard, and a helicopter landed at the blockade near Boston Harbor. Soldiers filed in and arrived at a command post, where they were stopped by the lieutenant colonel.
"Group one will go to this location, and group two will go here. If you encounter the enemy, you are allowed to kill them. However, the team leader has the right to decide whether to kill anyone or anything that hinders the execution of the mission!"
The lieutenant colonel, holding a map, urgently gave orders. It seemed they were already completely overwhelmed with these matters, with no extra troops at all. "Team Three, rescue the civilians. The Air Force will bomb in three hours. You must evacuate half an hour in advance. Do you understand?"
"I hear you clearly, sir!"
Since arriving here, they felt like they had all turned into tape recorders, repeating the words "I heard you clearly, sir" for a long time.
The third team was ordered to pass through the layers of blockades set up by the military and inspectors and move towards the "enemy-occupied area".
Those deep divers were initially only around the coast, but with the appearance of the dragon sucking water and Dagon, the inspector was almost wiped out, and the deep divers immediately entered the residential area near Boston Harbor. It was the residential area that was blocked by the military.
“Hurry, hurry, hurry!”
The fifteen soldiers of the third group filed in, quickly entered the blockade area, and began to search for survivors in the ruins.
While searching for survivors, they also kept a vigilant eye on all sides to avoid being attacked by the Deep Ones who were hiding somewhere unknown.
“Hiss, hiss, hiss…”
Suddenly, a strange sound was heard in front of the street, and then smoke began to slowly rise. The soldiers in the team lost their sight in a moment.
“Damn it!”
The captain cursed and then lowered his voice to his left and right, saying, "Be alert and don't get ambushed."
Soon after the smoke filled the air, they smelled a distinct fishy odor in the smoke. This odor was not only fishy, but also gave people an invisible feeling as if their necks were being strangled. Several soldiers in the team were already having difficulty breathing.
"Everyone, wear gas masks. We've lost contact with the previous rescue teams nearby. Everyone, be careful and make sure you get back alive!"
As soon as the captain finished speaking, black shadows rushed out from both sides one after another, emitting a strong fishy smell. The soldiers immediately pulled the trigger and the bullets flew out of the chamber.
“Clang clang clang!”
Like the sound of metal clashing, all the bullets were blocked by the Deep Diver's scales, creating bright sparks. All the soldiers were stunned. They didn't know how to face the Deep Diver in front of them.
This deep diver was a dull green, white only on its belly. Most of its body was shiny and smooth, but its back was marked by a high, scaly ridge. Its body had vaguely humanoid features, but its head was that of a fish, with large, bulging eyes that never closed. It had gills trembling on either side of its neck, and its long arms and legs were webbed.
The bullets they just fired...did not hit the scaly part of the Deep Diver in front of them!
So...how on earth did he manage to withstand the bullets?!
“Retreat! Retreat!”
The rescue team barely made a second attempt, ordering a retreat to avoid the Deep One's attack. In the thick fog, they couldn't guarantee their shots would accurately hit the Deep One's eyes, not to mention that there seemed to be more than one Deep One in front of them...
They quickly fled into a house on the street, and several deep divers looked at the house and did not continue to chase them, but showed a rather humane expression.
