In the early morning, the first brilliant rays of morning glow appeared in the sky, and wisps of smoke were floating in the surrounding town of Kale.
It should have been a very peaceful morning, but the sudden arrival of several inspection cars broke the tranquility of the town.
On the road not far outside the town, Officer Celt, the sheriff from New York, stood in front of the crime scene with a frown on his face.
"Sheriff Celtic, the deceased's information has been released. One is named Wilson and the other is named Jack. Both were inspectors in Carter Town. Now they are dead here for unknown reasons."
"Wilson, Jack..."
Sheriff Celtic muttered the two men's names, but when he realized he had no recollection of them, he sighed, "Has the medical examiner arrived yet? How are their autopsies going?"
As a veteran criminal police officer, Celt knew that there was something different about the two bodies... Their stomachs had been ripped open, and there were signs of extensive bite marks on their bodies. Fatty areas like the abdomen and thighs had long been reduced to bones, having been eaten clean.
The flesh on his body was completely gone and he was badly mauled, but the pistols that the two policemen carried with them were not lost.
It didn't take a forensic pathologist like Celt to tell that this was definitely not a case committed by humans.
"The medical examiner hasn't arrived yet."
An inspector at the side hadn't finished speaking when Sergeant Celt continued, "How did they check the firearms? Were there any signs of firing?"
"Inspector Jack's service gun is missing two rounds of ammunition, and Inspector Wilson's service gun is missing six rounds of ammunition."
The Inspector spoke dully, "This is the first such brutal case since we reinstated our inspectors' weapons, and... we don't have any evidence yet."
Since 1829, Great Britain has been one of the few countries in the world where inspectors are not armed. However, this policy, which lasted for two hundred years, was quietly abolished not long ago.
From the time it was abolished until now, although there have been reports of inspectors being attacked, with guns, the inspectors were able to fight back, and at worst, they could find the murderer.
But this one is really a headache.
Sheriff Celt is now a little annoyed. He doesn't understand why the inspector's car in this small town is not equipped with a dash cam. If there is a dash cam, the outcome of the case will be clear!
Sheriff Celt followed the direction of the bloodstains, but found that the bloodstains finally disappeared into the vast forest, leaving no trace and making it impossible to track down the suspect.
Could the perpetrator really be an animal?
With deep doubts, Sheriff Celt returned the same way, only to find that the forensic doctor had arrived at the scene and began to examine the two bodies.
Seeing this, Celt quickly stood aside, lit a cigarette, and began to think about the circumstances of the case. He had no intention of rashly stepping forward to disturb the forensic examination.
After a while, the medical examiner seemed to have reached a preliminary conclusion and ordered several inspectors to carry the body to the ambulance. He then came to Celt and said to him, "It must have been torn apart by some kind of wild animal. I found several strands of blue-black hair at the crime scene. They must have been from a wolf."
"There aren't any wild animals anywhere near London, let alone wild wolves."
The Celtic Sheriff had ample knowledge of London.
London is the capital of Great Britain. The land around it is very expensive. Hundreds of years ago, all the animals around it were hunted to ensure safety. The staff of the Animal Protection Association only release herbivorous animals, at most some foxes or something. How could wolves be released?
And most importantly, according to the data, neither Jack nor Wilson were killed by a sudden bite. They both fired shots, one fired two shots and the other fired six shots.
Wilson is an old inspector. According to the files, he is very familiar with firearms. Even if Jack missed the target with one shot, Wilson could have been hit by at least three shots.
But...a normal wolf would die instantly from unbearable pain if shot by a single gun, let alone these guns.
With doubts, Celt followed the forensic doctor to his work area. After waiting for two hours, Celt received a report.
The forensic doctor compared the blood on the ground and found that it all came from Jack and Wilson, with no other bloodstains.
No fingerprints were found on the body, only deep bite marks. Not a tenth of the flesh and blood remained. Even Sherlock Holmes could not figure out the cause of death.
Celt walked on the streets of London in shock, holding the report. He was skeptical about the report.
He didn't think that Jack and Wilson were killed by wolves. It must be something else, most likely related to extraordinary events!
Europe has been in turmoil in recent days, and Celtic naturally knew it very well. His first reaction to this case was indeed an extraordinary event.

"Captain, I went to Kalai Town and asked a few townspeople who slept late. They all said they heard loud wolf howls at night, and many were so scared that they couldn't sleep."
An inspector quickly caught up with Celt, who was walking on the road, and reported to him, "The Forest Service has also received a complaint about wolves in the area."
