The corridor of the laboratory was very dim. The lights that should have been on all year round were out for some reason. However, the soldiers in the team had night vision goggles, so this level of darkness did not pose any difficulty for them.
The fully armed elite Team A, consisting of four people in a team, has successfully arrived at the rest area through the gate. The journey can be said to be safe and smooth without encountering any difficulties.
"Stop at the rest area first and look at the map."
After quickly confirming that no one was in the corridor, the leader of Team A pushed open the door to the lounge, pointed inside, and said to his teammates behind him, "Maybe there's something unexpected here."
After that, a stun grenade was thrown into the lounge. Then four soldiers divided the work in an orderly manner and entered the lounge one by one, pointing their guns at the four corners to ensure that all areas of the room were within their visual and shooting range.
However, to their surprise, they did not find any traces in the room. The entire lounge was surprisingly clean, without a trace of mess at all.
"Allow all alert, leave one person to guard the door!"
After the team skillfully arranged everything, the remaining three people began to move towards the lounge.
They did not dare to turn on the lights rashly, fearing that the bright light would attract something's attention. They also had night vision glasses, so the darkness did not have much impact on them.
Crossing the sofa and snack area, they went deeper and deeper into the lounge, but as they went deeper, a faint smell of blood floated in the air.
The smell of blood was vague and intermittent, but everyone was clear that the smell of blood filled the room.
The three members of the team were all elite soldiers who had fought in bloody battles. After smelling the blood, they looked at each other and began to move forward, following the smell, as if looking for the source of the blood.
Following the smell of blood, they came to the end of the lounge, in front of a wardrobe.
The smell of blood in the surrounding area and the large pool of blood oozing from the bottom of the wardrobe told them that there might be some horrible scene in the wardrobe.
The team leader glanced at the wardrobe, then at the two teammates nearby, and began to make some complicated gestures.
The other two teammates immediately understood what he meant, slowly backed away, and after forming a safe distance from the team leader, they all pointed their guns at the wardrobe door.
The team leader took a deep breath, put down his gun, and reached out to the wardrobe, as if wanting to open it.
“Crack—”
The harsh sound of a door opening rang out in the quiet and dark lounge. After the team leader opened the closet door, the scene inside made him feel nauseous.
Through the red flashes of the guns in the hands of the three fully armed soldiers, one could see that the closet was densely packed with skulls, one after another. Their dull eyes stared fixedly at the front, and a feeling of terror instantly filled the entire room.
When the team leader opened the wardrobe, blood began to flow out like a waterfall!
“Fuck!”
The team leader cursed in disgust, then quickly stepped back and removed his hands from the wardrobe door to avoid getting them stained with blood.
At first glance, these densely packed heads seem to be numbering around twenty or thirty people!
The three soldiers felt their scalps tingling and their hairs standing on end. They couldn't imagine what could have killed these scientists silently under the protection of the soldiers, leaving them unable to even send out a distress signal!
"These are the scientists who work and conduct research here."
After a moment of silence, the team leader slowly said, "Take photos and report. Let's retreat and prepare to leave."
Before they set off, they received photos from their superiors, who asked them to remember the scientists working here and bring them back as safely as possible if they found any alive.
After all, scientists are still very valuable.
But now it seems that these valuable scientists will have little chance of returning.
Two-thirds of the scientists were trapped in the closet alone, and they couldn't believe that the remaining one-third could survive such a horrific attack.
They began to slowly retreat. Admittedly, the lounge was quite large. While they were reaching the door, the team leader took out his intercom and reported to the captain, "Team A, Team A, we found twenty-seven heads in the wardrobe of the lounge as we passed through it. Their faces were calm and empty, as if they had been killed in one blow. We've taken photos."
Soon, the leader of Group A received a fragmented reply from the captain: "Roger, Group B has lost contact with us. Group A, please note, Group B was last seen at Lab A-12. Proceed with caution. Over."
"Team B has lost contact?"
The heart of the leader of Group A skipped a beat, and the two soldiers around him looked shocked.
To boost morale, the team leader forced a smile and said to the two, "Don't panic, it might be because the signal is bad. We are all comrades from the army. Everyone knows that Group B..."
“Boom!”
Before the team leader finished speaking, a loud noise suddenly came from the corridor outside the lounge!
The team leader's face changed, and he shouted as he ran, "That's the sound of a grenade exploding. I'm afraid something's happened. Go support Ellis!"
Their other teammate was in charge of guarding the goal, and now they heard the sound of a grenade exploding in the corridor. There was no need to think too much about it, as something must have happened to 'Ellis'.
However, when they rushed out of the lounge and arrived at the corridor, they found that there was no one in the corridor.
