Dirty, cold and smelly.
This was Bruce's impression of the sewer. Led by a security guard in a wealthy area named Kevin Lay, he entered the sewer and began to clean the sewers in this area.
"What are these rich people doing? Why is it so dirty and messy?"
Looking at the sewers filled with a foul smell, Bruce couldn't help but frown. He suppressed the urge to vomit and began to clean the dirt in the sewers that might cause blockage.
After cleaning for about half an hour, Bruce took a deep breath and began to move carefully along the corner of the sewer.
A job that pays two hundred dollars an hour is not easy to complete. Bruce could have chosen to live like other people in the slums, going into the sewers and living off his salary.
However, Bruce's character does not allow him to do so. He believes that corresponding labor must be used to obtain corresponding rewards.
Bruce slowly moved forward along the corner of the sewer, and suddenly heard a smell that was different from the heavy stench, a unique fishy smell.
"Smell of blood?! Is there a dead body here?"
Bruce took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down as much as possible.
He was not a fool, so he naturally knew what that fishy smell was.
It is actually normal to have a bloody smell in the sewers of wealthy areas. After all, rich people often eat steak, roast lamb and the like.
But there was no way. Even though Bruce understood that it was normal for the smell of blood to appear in the sewer, ever since he heard the conversation between the priest and the night watchman, Bruce couldn't help but have wild thoughts and thought of scenes like monsters eating people.
With this mentality, Bruce carefully turned the corner, and as he expected, a terrible scene appeared before his eyes!
The scene was disgusting, looking around...
The "monster" was dressed in a black robe, and its arms, cheeks, neck... any skin exposed to the air was rotten, with tadpole-like tiny characters engraved on it. The characters were dark and surrounded each other, as if they were growing directly on the skin.
The 'monster' sensed someone coming, looked up, and met Bruce's eyes.
"ah!"
The sudden encounter with this scene made Bruce, a sixteen-year-old boy, panic. He looked at the monster in front of him, his legs trembling, his whole body trembling with fear, and his brain went blank in an instant.
“You…you…”
The monster was chewing something in its mouth. Bruce could vaguely see worms wriggling in its skin. The monster murmured in a hoarse voice: "No... Don't go. I... I won't hurt you..."
Before the rotten humanoid monster could finish his words, Bruce wanted to run away.
If a rotten monster that is eating raw flesh and blood talks to you and says it won’t hurt you, would you believe it and would you not run away?
No one else knows, but Bruce will run anyway.
However, before Bruce could wade through the water for a few steps, the sewage behind him suddenly began to twitch rapidly, and the sewage began to quickly condense and form, directly blocking Bruce's way!
"Why?! Why do every one of you want to run!!!"
Immediately afterwards, the sound of the monster in front became more and more crazy, and a strange red light began to appear all over the monster's body. The originally rotten skin began to become smooth and delicate.
The monster's voice began to become distorted, and the entire sewer began to tremble slightly. Bruce was already terrified at this moment. He looked at the monster and shouted in panic, "I'm not leaving. I just wanted to get something. Don't get me wrong!"
Of course, this was just a lie Bruce made up. He didn't have anything to take.
If there is something, it might be a trash can for garbage.
After saying this, Bruce felt a little desperate.
What's the use of this lame excuse? Can this monster really let me go?
No, it's impossible. If this monster lets me go, I will drink up all the water in the sewer!
"You think I... Never mind, I don't have much time left. Come closer."
The monster was about to get angry, but in the end, he sighed and waved to Bruce, "Come here... kid."
Faced with such a situation, Bruce was actually still very panicked.
The thought of a monster waving at you to come over is enough to be frightening.
After all, this is a monster!
But now, Bruce has no choice but to go.
The consequence of not going there is obvious, that is death.
In response, Bruce took a deep breath and slowly moved towards the monster. The panic in his heart became even stronger, and he even seemed to be unable to hold it back and was about to show it.
"Do not be afraid, my child."
The monster's voice appeared in Bruce's ears again, and with the appearance of the voice, the monster's figure instantly flashed in front of Bruce.
The monster's smooth skin faded once again, returning to its previous rotten state. It seemed even more rotten than before, and there were more and more bugs in its flesh and blood.
Seeing this, Bruce couldn't help but feel a little creepy, but before he could react, a pair of rough hands pressed on the top of his head. A cold and piercing feeling came into Bruce's mind. Bruce's heart immediately shuddered and he fainted in an instant.
