10. Daily Practice

10. Daily Practice

On the 45th day after joining Death, Song Qixian and his teammates began practicing their debut song.

The debut song "God penalty" is a dark dance song with fragmented and complicated movements. It was very difficult for Song Qixian to master it.

Trainees from big companies might practice their debut song for half a year or even a year to make sufficient preparations before their debut, but they only had two months to practice the song thoroughly.

During the break, Shen Minghe loved to talk about the four major entertainment companies, and Song Qixian learned a lot of knowledge that he didn't know before.

The leader of the four major entertainment companies is AHE, whose full name is A HEAD. Its boy and girl groups occupy half of South Korea, and there are four sixth-generation boy groups alone.

"However, only one of the four Supers is issued by the head office, and the other three belong to subsidiaries."

Shin Myung Hyuk revealed an envious look, "My friend is a trainee there, and he said their company cafeteria is delicious. He sent me a photo, and it looked delicious."

Zhou Heyu beside him patted his brother's head gently and said, "You are useless. You only think about eating."

Shen Minghe pouted. At his age, he loved to eat, and the daily meals in the cafeteria could not satisfy him at all.

Song Qixian interrupted with a smile: "Minghe, I also want to hear about the other major companies. Can you continue to tell me?"

Shen Minghe then excitedly told Song Qixian about several other major companies.

The other three companies are Messing, Lifetime and Day.

"I think M Company is the most worthwhile of the four major entertainment companies to join. Firstly, the company has an entertainment department, which makes it easy for idols to transition into actors. The company's top star, Jin Yuelun, is an idol-turned-actor, and he's so successful now, even winning Best Actor. Secondly, the company's music production is guaranteed, with their new group's music currently ranking in the top ten on Melodi. Past male and female groups have always been popular with the public."

As Song Qixian listened, he asked, "M Club is so good, wouldn't all the young people want to interview for it? What are its shortcomings?"

Upon hearing this, Shen Minghe's face turned red instantly and he was speechless.

Park Yoo Eun laughed and told Song Qixian: "In Ming Hyuk's heart, of course no other company can compare to M Company. He went to M Company for an interview a long time ago, but he didn't pass."

Shen Minghe's face flushed, and he tried to save face: "I went to their company for an interview last year, and I got second place."

Song Qixian was curious: "Then how..." Why did you come to our company?

Shen Minghe cried out, "Because they only accept one. They've been accepting two before, but now that I'm second, they only accept one."

Song Qixian comforted him, "Don't cry, don't cry. What if there's a chance of a turnaround? We might be acquired by M Company in the future. Isn't that how some small company groups became big company groups? There are many such examples."

Shen Minghe was even sadder: "Brother, if that's the case, I can go buy a lottery ticket."

Park Yoo-eun felt that the sight of Song Qixian hugging Shin Minghe to comfort him was irritating. He knew that Minghe would not be sad at all. Their youngest member was a cunning little fox with a very sharp mind.

As expected, Shin Myung-hyuk secretly made faces at Park Yoo-eun, and there was no sign of sadness on his face.

Park Yoo Eun picked up the towel in his hand and threw it over. Shen Minghe said to Song Qixian aggrievedly: "Brother, Yoo Eun is bullying me again."

When Park Yoo-eun saw this, there was another chaos.

Song Qixian now deeply felt the difficulty of the director's mother. It must be very difficult to take care of so many children! But he remembered that in the orphanage, none of his brothers and sisters were as naughty as them.

He stood between the two of them, with Shin Myung-hyuk hiding behind him and poking his head out, and in front of him was the angry Park Yoo-eun. Song Qixian was both the mother hen and the mediator.

"Stop———" Song Qixian stopped and said seriously: "As an older brother, you should be friendly to your younger brother, and the younger brother should also respect his older brother. Minghe, you apologize first, and Youen, stop it too, don't always hit your younger brother."

Song Qixian used the same aura he had when he was taking care of his younger brothers and sisters in the orphanage to scare off the two childish guys who were making a fuss.

Shin Myung Hyuk apologized shyly: "Yoo Eun, I'm sorry, you know I have no ill will towards you."

Park Yoo Eun accepted it reluctantly, and he raised his head slightly to show that he would not bother with him. Under Song Qixian's earnest eyes, he said: "Then I won't hit you in the future, as long as you don't provoke me."

Outside the door, Zhou Heyu clenched his fist and smiled to Ming Shangyu, "I think we can leave Youen and Minghe to Qixian from now on. Look, he looks like a kindergarten teacher."

Ming Shangyu agreed and smiled at Zhou Heyu.

Song Qixian, the "kindergarten teacher," breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed his words were working. He didn't know why, but even though he was only a year older than Shin Myung-hyuk and two years younger than Park Yoo-eun, he automatically became their older brother.

However, perhaps because he had taken care of his "brothers" during the day, Song Qixian missed his brothers and sisters in the orphanage. Taking advantage of the night, he called the orphanage.

Dean Song answered the phone, and Song Qixian felt a pang of disappointment. But he also knew that the dean's mother had long since passed away and would not be able to answer his call. So he gathered his feelings and greeted everyone, especially his sick sister.

Director Song was delighted. The child who had called was from their orphanage and was said to be earning a good living working in Seoul. He had recently sent home five million won and some clothes. Although she wasn't the director who had raised them, she saw the child's kindness and was genuinely happy for the director.

Dean Song went to the children's dormitory in person and told them that Brother Qixian had called.

The children's voices echoed on the phone, chattering and asking Song Qixian what Seoul looked like, whether he had seen the people on TV, and when he would go back to see them.

Song Qixian held his phone in his hand and listened to the children's lively voices. The smile on his lips was warmer than spring. He patiently answered the children's questions.

"Seoul is very big. When you grow up, you must come to Seoul. I will be waiting for you."

"Well, I've seen the mermaid princess on TV. She's very beautiful. She told me to tell you, 'Children, you must study hard so that you can live in Seoul like your brother when you grow up.'"

"Next month, I will definitely take some time off and come back to see you. Pinky promise."

Song Qixian also asked Xiao Ai, who was diagnosed with leukemia three months ago.

Dean Song told him that Xiao Ai is now in the hospital and her physical condition is much better than when she was first diagnosed.

"Xiao Ai misses you so much. She often asks me, 'Brother, why haven't you come to see me yet? Is it because Xiao Ai hasn't behaved well?' But Xiao Ai listens to the doctor and eats every day. Xiao Ai, she misses you so much. Qixian, please come back and see her when you have time. Xiao Ai is so lonely in the hospital."

Song Qixian almost cried. Xiao Ai was only eight years old, but she had already been lying in bed for three months. What was her future? He didn't dare to think about it. He hung up the phone in a hurry, and his mood became bad again.

Back in the dormitory, Park Yoo-eun was still awake. Seeing Song Qixian lying on the bed without saying a word, she noticed his lonely mood.

Park Yoo-eun thought it was finally his turn to be a close brother, so he took the initiative to start the conversation.

"Um, do you think we'll be popular after our debut?"

Song Qixian was not asleep with his eyes closed. He opened his eyes when he heard Park Youen's words.

In the darkness he said, "The song the president gave us is very nice, but we can't decide whether it will be a hit or not."

Park Yoo-eun turned over, facing Song Qixian, staring at his back and said, "Tell me, are big companies really that good? Can a lot of marketing prove everything?"

Song Qixian thought for a moment and said, "I can't prove it, but without marketing, the song will never reach the public."

Park Yoo-eun, looking dejected, revealed a secret: "Actually, scouts from AHE and M Agency have contacted me, and two other major agencies have also sent me interview invitations. But I didn't go."

Song Qixian's low voice sounded: "Why not go?"

Park Yoo-eun was too embarrassed to reveal the reason, but he was overjoyed when he received the invitation from the Big Four, and it only made him want to prove himself even more. Nothing could prove himself better than debuting with a small company and then becoming famous, so someone recommended him to Death, a company reportedly owned by a well-known producer in the industry.

Park Yoo-eun regretted his decision when he first arrived, but President Choi's unvarnished praise for him made him embarrassed to even think about leaving. Later, he met Ming Sang-woo and Zhou Heyu, and was so impressed by them that he didn't even think about leaving.

Now that I think about it, President Choi must have seen that he wanted to leave, so he was so enthusiastic that he didn't say a single harsh word. Just look at how Choi Byung-hee scolded them with an expressionless face after their roadshow a few days ago, and you can tell that President Choi is not a gentle person.

Few people know about Park Yoo-eun's past, and Song Qixian was the first among his friends to know about it.

Park Yoo-eun sounded frustrated, and Song Qixian asked him, "Do you regret it? Do you regret coming here?"

If I were to say there are regrets, then there are some, especially when he sees that classmates who are not as good as him have already debuted in big companies.

But Park Yoo-eun is quite open-minded. His father does business abroad and the family's money is enough for him to squander, so he is just worried that he will not have fans cheering for him when he becomes an idol in the future.

He said with a smile: "In the future, we can go to commercial performances. Commercial performances are much more interesting than those music performances."

He thought it was so simple. Song Qixian thought, he already knew he had an audition notice. The role was very lively and seemed to be somewhat similar to the simple-minded Park Yu-eun.
