23 Selling Art and Body
XXX milk tea welcomed more customers today than usual.
The weather was hot, so the girls decided to go to a newly opened milk tea shop and order a few cups of all-ice, three-quarters sugar milk tea. However, there were so many drink shops on this street that none of them were particularly popular.
But things were different when the red-haired boy appeared. Everyone loves beauty, and on the huge street, he was as eye-catching as a lamp.
It just so happened that the street was not only populated by local women, but also by many Chinese tourists taking advantage of the holiday break. So many people came to join in the fun, and Song Qixian was almost squeezed out.
Park Yoo-eun was at a loss for what to do, yet he still had to smile and gently invite everyone to try the sample bottles. This was much more tiring than performing on stage, but at least then he felt at ease.
Song Qixian was having a lot of fun taking photos outside, and he didn't show any psychological imbalance caused by being squeezed out. He thought that in the future, their group would not be out of work as long as they relied on Youen's autographs.
"Where's the handsome red-haired guy?"
"Here, over there. That's where the crowds are."
"Oh, I can't see it. I want to squeeze in too."
Girls kept coming over when they heard the noise, and Song Qixian had an idea.
"Hello, do you want to know more about the handsome guy in there? Actually, he's a member of a boy band. There's an introduction to him on Naver."
Two girls dressed as middle school students were anxiously wanting to catch a glimpse of the handsome guy inside. Suddenly, they heard these words. They looked over and saw a tall and thin boy looking at them with a smile.
The boy had delicate features and a bright gaze, his demeanor giving off a refreshing, gentle vibe. He was surprisingly handsome, too. Though he dressed stylishly, he possessed the steadiness and integrity of an older generation, unlike the somewhat frivolous and impetuous nature of most Korean men.
Seeing that it was a handsome man, the two girls looked at each other and asked shyly, "What group? Is it the Big Four?"
Song Qixian replied to the first sentence: "The group is called Kaleido. Sorry, I have to leave now."
The girl had just taken out her phone to search when she saw this extraordinary young man quickly squeeze into the crowd and disappear.
"Hey, wait. Why did you leave?"
The friend was also a little disappointed, but suddenly pointed at the phone and said, "Look! It's the brother from before."
The name displayed on Naver is exactly the group name Song Qixian mentioned, a boy group called Kaleido. There are five members in total, and the one on the far left in the picture is Song Qixian.
Song Qixian rescued Park Yoo-eun who was surrounded by a group of boys and girls in the crowd. He took the latter's hand and put it close to Park Yoo-eun's ear, which had turned red, and whispered his plan.
The girls around were screaming a little. The two good-looking boys were so close, and anyone who saw it would be excited.
After listening to Song Qixian's idea, Park Yoo-eun agreed even though she doubted whether it would be effective.
Seeing that Park Yoo-eun agreed, Song Qixian's smile became even wider. He raised the hand he was holding with Park Yoo-eun and introduced himself loudly: "Anihasayo, We are Kaleido, Kaleido, Kaleido."
There was a small murmur in the crowd. The name of this group was so unfamiliar that neither Koreans nor foreign tourists had ever heard of it.
But everyone was very considerate. Someone asked, "Can you sing one of your songs? If it's good, I'll support you."
Song Qixian looked for Park Youen's opinion, and seeing that he had no objection, he said, "Then we can only sing a few lines a cappella."
Without a cell phone, Song Qixian had to ask a young woman who was watching for help. Type "Butterfly" into melon and you'll find the Kaleido group's song on the second page.
The accompaniment sounded, and Song Qixian sang the first line: "Such a wonderful day, our meeting."
He looked at Park Yoo Eun, who continued to sing: "Then one, two, three butterflies flew over you."
The boy's voice was as sweet as mountain spring water, expressing the immature thoughts of a boy of his age.
The whole song is cheerful yet bittersweet, and the tune is simple. When it is repeated a second time, many people can hum along.
As the song ended, applause broke out one after another, encouraging the two young men who were fighting for opportunities for the group.
Song Qixian was surprised to see someone secretly recording a video. He pulled Park Yoo-eun and smiled at the person's phone.
With this kind of publicity, many people at the scene actually remembered this group, Kaleido. At least the girls who are fans of celebrities would search for this group and listen to the only two songs they released.
The lyrical song is "Butterfly". It sounds even better when played with music. Even those who have been listening to music for many years will fall in love with it after listening to it once.
Unbeknownst to Song Qixian, there was a Kaleido fan in the crowd, a Chinese fan at that. She excitedly filmed their entire singing session from the very beginning and quickly shared the video on her social media chat.
Tanya lives online almost 24 hours a day. When she finds the content of a video shared by a girl, she immediately pins the video to the top so that more fans can see it.
There weren't many people in the super topic, but they were all lively. Someone yelled, "I just walked down this street last week! How did they just catch them so easily? Ahh ...
"Who understands? Someone as beautiful as Yoo Eun was born in Korea. How abhorrent!"
"Both babies have double eyelids and don't look Korean at all. Come to China and become my dad's son-in-law."
"+1. I showed my mom a picture of the five Kaleido guys last time, and she thought Qixian was super handsome!"
"Hehe, my mom also likes Qixian. I feel like the older generation just likes this kind of old-fashioned handsome guy with thick eyebrows and big eyes."
"Is this a group variety show? It looks a bit miserable. The company is so cruel. They let them promote on the street in such hot weather."
"Small companies are like this. You'll know it later. You'll have many opportunities to see them on various commercial stages. They work like cattle every day, just like factory workers."
Song Qixian really made things difficult for Park Yoo-eun. After the first person came forward to ask for their autographs, many people followed and asked for their autographs, and then Park Yoo-eun became a tool for getting autographs.
Just as they were happily signing the contract, the hidden cameraman hired by the company could no longer sit still. He squeezed into a group of passers-by and struggled to hand the phone to Song Qixian.
Song Qixian was stunned. A mobile phone was handed to him. Just as he was about to ask if he had taken the wrong one, Ming Shangyu's voice came from the phone.
Song Qixian smiled shyly at the girl closest to him, not noticing that her face was turning unusually red because she was so close to him.
"Hiong, what's wrong?"
On the other side, Ming Shangyu was sitting in a coffee shop and was amused by his teammates' cleverness. There are really many talented people among the members of their group.
"Qixian, I really appreciate your willingness to promote our group. But now, you can no longer sign autographs."
Song Qixian realized belatedly that his self-willed behavior had caused trouble for the company. A trace of embarrassment appeared on his face, and he felt uncomfortable in his heart.
He stopped Park Yoo-eun who was signing autographs and taking photos, and apologized to everyone that they had to move to another place.
Park Yoo Eun was clueless about everything. Wiping his sweat, he asked, "It's only been over an hour, why aren't you continuing?"
Song Qixian drooped his face and said sadly, "I seem to have gotten into trouble."
Park Yoo-eun was shocked. He had never seen Song Qixian with this expression before. It was as if a usually strong child would occasionally show a vulnerable expression, which would make everyone feel distressed. Park Yoo-eun now played the role of an older brother and hurriedly asked what was going on.
Song Qixian told Park Youen the whole story and said dejectedly, "Did I cause a lot of trouble for Sangyu and the company?"
Park Yoo-eun thought it was a big deal, but it turns out to be like this.
He took on his responsibilities as an older brother and comforted her, "Don't think too much. It's just a group show, and there weren't any agreed-upon rules. It's just signing autographs, it won't affect anything big. Besides, I'm with you, and I agreed to it. I'm the older brother, so I should bear the greatest responsibility."
Song Qixian responded gloomily. The flyers had already been distributed, and they went to find the store manager to settle their wages.
The store manager was very satisfied with their work. Their store wasn't a big brand, and their daily business was mediocre, so he was willing to spend some money on so-called "promotion" when Song Qixian came to the door. Now it seems that the effect is very good.
The store manager happily invited Song Qixian and the other person to take a photo together, which he planned to print out and hang on the wall later.
A few streets away, Zhou Heyu was sitting cross-legged under a tree on the street, playing and singing on the guitar. In front of him was a simple box filled with some Korean won.
There was a circle of passersby around him, admiring the handsome young boy as he played popular songs one after another, and people kept throwing money into his box.
In the mall, Shen Minghe walked out of the e-sports internet cafe. He had just paid a fee to help some people gain points and successfully obtained some gold coins.
It was still early, and he saw something he liked and immediately spent half of the Korean won in his hand, which was still warm.
Ming Shangyu was the most relaxed person in the cafe. His family owned a business there, so he quickly found a suitable part-time job. Thinking he'd earned enough, he rented a cell phone and checked on his teammates.
It was not time yet and there was no way to find the next temporary job quickly, so Song Qixian and Park Youen stayed in the shade with an ice cream each.
"You said, the money we earn shouldn't be the least, right?"
Song Qixian didn't care about the punishment of being the last one, so he smiled and said, "I gave you an extra thousand won, so you definitely won't be the last one."
Park Yoo Eun was very touched: "Don't worry, I will help you when you clean up. I will share one bite of dinner with you."
Unexpectedly, the last one at the end was not Song Qixian.
