4. Opportunity

4 Opportunities

After distributing flyers and returning to the dormitory, Song Qixian found that there was another person in the dormitory.

Park Yoo-eun, his roommate with a very unique personality.

Park Yoo Eun was lying on the bed playing with her phone, ignoring the sound of Song Qixian coming in. Song Qixian put the fried noodles he had packed on the table and began to eat them mouthful by mouthful.

The aroma of fried noodles wafted out, and Park Yoo-eun's nose moved, and he changed from lying down to lying down.

Finally, I couldn't help but said, "Hey, don't you know we can't have midnight snacks?"

Song Qixian stopped moving, with a noodle still at the corner of his mouth. He took a sip, turned around, and looked a little dazed.

"But I haven't eaten in eight hours..."

Park Yoo Eun got up from the bed, her face still looking sour.

"I don't know how you got in here, kid. Do you think being a trainee is something you can do casually?"

Song Qixian didn't look up, but responded, "I know the word 'trainee' means 'dream,' but for me, just being alive is my biggest dream. I don't mean to look down on him, I just don't have much energy left."

Park Yoo Eun curled his lips. He was prejudiced against Song Qixian, so he thought everything he said was an excuse. But forget it, he would be kicked out sooner or later anyway.

So he slammed the door open and went to wash up.

Song Qixian was left sighing in the room. Was it so difficult for him to just get along harmoniously with his roommate?

After dinner, it was already 11pm. Song Qixian felt that his basic skills were too poor, so he went to the practice room to practice more.

The second-hand machine with a flowery screen was running with difficulty. Song Qixian was observing the movements step by step in front of the mirror. He recalled the advice Zhou Heyu gave him today.

"Keep your legs together, use your waist to push upwards."

"Keep your lower body still, quickly lift one shoulder up, lower it, switch shoulders, and speed up."

Song Qixian was immersed in practice and before he knew it, it was three o'clock in the morning.

During the daily dance activity on the second day, Zhou Heyu was surprised to find that he, the cheap student, had made great progress.

He patted Song Qixian on the shoulder and praised him: "That's great. You must practice more tonight."

There is no teacher who doesn't like hard-working students. Zhou Heyu put himself in the role of a teacher and treated Song Qixian better.

Park Yoo-eun snorted coldly, while Shin Myung-hyuk surrounded Song Qixian and asked him to dance the complete basic dance steps again.

Song Qixian smiled shyly and showed his learning results again in a good-tempered manner.

She's definitely improved a lot compared to yesterday, and it's obvious she's put in the hours of practice. The dance instructor is also very pleased. While the new trainee may not have the best foundation, she's a hard-working individual. Even if she doesn't make her debut, she won't necessarily remain in obscurity.

Death is a small, relatively unknown company, but its president, Choi Byung-hee, is a renowned producer with a team of talented producers. In other words, if you can join this team, your future is limitless.

A month passed like this, and when Choi Byung-hee finished his work, he remembered the boy he brought back a month ago.

He pushed open the back door of the practice room and entered without disturbing their practice.

But Ming Shangyu was standing in front leading the dance, and the four people behind him followed suit.

Wow, I can keep up with these guys.

Choi Byung-hee focused on observing Song Qixian and found that his movements were still a bit stiff, but his dancing sense was good, and he knew how to use leverage and save energy. Looking at his overall appearance, he had changed a lot compared to a month ago.

After they rested, Song Qixian came up happily to say hello, and Choi Byung-hee discovered more details about him.

His eyebrows and eyes have relaxed a lot, and his neat short hair can't hide his handsome features. He is a lively big boy.

"well done."

Choi Byung-hee patted Song Qixian's shoulder approvingly, and then called Ming Shangyu to go out with him.

"Hey, what do you think the president is asking Sang-woo to go out for? Is it... Hey, I bet 10,000 won, anyone want to join me?"

Shen Minghe was afraid that the world would not be in chaos, so he actively encouraged the other three to bet with him on the purpose of the president calling Ming Shangyu out.

Park Yoo-eun wanted to make a bet with him, but Zhou Heyu didn't tolerate his youngest brother at all and scolded him, "What nonsense! Shin Minghe, have you finished practicing your dance homework from yesterday? And Park Yoo-eun, have you finished writing your rap lyrics?"

Song Qixian said nothing and didn't join in. Not because he hadn't fully integrated yet, but because he knew what they were gambling on.

When President Choi heard that his four seniors were about to debut, he probably asked Ming Shangyu to go out because of this.

Even though he had never thought about debuting, Song Qixian couldn't help but feel a little lost. What would it be like after debuting? Would he stand on that shining stage, make tons of money, and have fans who love him?

For the first time, Song Qixian felt a desire because he found that the road to becoming a trainee was wider than he could have imagined.

Ming Shangyu looked normal when he came back, but after class he called out to three people except Song Qixian.

The bet was right. Shin Minghe winked at Park Yuen, and Zhou Heyu glanced at Song Qixian with some concern. Song Qixian forced an awkward smile, suppressed his disappointment, and closed the door of the practice room.

It was still a part-time job as usual. Tonight he was a milk salesman, but Song Qixian couldn't help but lose his mind as he held the sample bottle of milk in his hand.

He is eighteen years old and not yet an adult, but no one tells him where his future lies.

During his school years, Song Qixian's grades weren't great, as he yearned to return to the orphanage to help the director, his mother, care for his sick younger siblings. The orphanage housed mostly disabled children, many of whom were chronically ill. With limited staff, the older children often helped care for the younger ones, and Song Qixian continued to do so until he was 16. He abandoned his studies and chose to venture out to Seoul on his own.

He had no education and was underage, so finding a job was difficult. While working at a convenience store was hard, it was the first respectable job he had finally found. He was content not to have to clean the houses of the deceased or clear filthy sewers.

Joining Death Company was an unexpected thing. It allowed him to quit his convenience store job and have more time to learn the knowledge that a trainee should know.

This month, he lived a very fulfilling life, attending classes during the day, working part-time in the afternoon, and returning to practice at night.

He found that he really liked this kind of life, and his ever-increasing dance skills gave him a sense of accomplishment. The gloom in his eyes and eyebrows also became less and less, and He Yuge praised him for becoming more handsome.

Song Qixian also found changes in himself when he looked in the mirror. There was less anxiety and more longing on his face.

But there are many things that he cannot get just because he wants them, and the distance between him and them is still too far.

The frowning young man looked worried and caught the attention of a man not far behind him. His eyes lit up and he ran to Song Qixian.

"Hoo-hoo, are you interested in making a movie?"

Song Qixian looked at the bearded man in a baseball cap with surprise, who had no image at all, and forgot to think about the truthfulness of his words.

-

The bearded man's name is Kim Seo-jin, a bona fide film director. His representative works include "Orphan," nominated for Best Film at the Blue Dragon Film Awards, and "The Stepdaughter," nominated for Best Film at the Grand Bell Awards. Just looking at his track record, it's clear that he's a very consistent director, with a rating of around 8 out of 10.

Holding the business card in his hand, Song Qixian was still a little skeptical.

He asked the question in his mind: "Do you think I have the talent to make movies?"

"Of course, you are the best Cha Min Seok in my mind."

Jin Ruizhen was very excited because he finally found the young male protagonist he had been looking for for a long time.

Just now, he was still worried about the casting for the role of the young Cha Min-seok. Kim Seo-jin had many options, but whether it was experienced child actors or idols looking to take advantage of the opportunity, none of them were suitable for the role.

Child stars have decent acting skills, but perhaps because they've never experienced hard times, they often inadvertently reveal their pedantic ways. Idols are even worse, with those delicate faces that don't look photogenic and look fake.

The choice of the young Cha Min-seok was very important because although he only appeared for 20 minutes, it was the first 20 minutes of the film and was supposed to set the overall tone of the film. So Kim Seo-jin would rather cut his part than just choose someone who was not suitable.

So, when he saw Song Qixian, he was pleasantly surprised. This was exactly the image of the young Cha Minxi in his mind.

There's a persistent lingering melancholy between his brows, a stark reminder that life hasn't been easy. Meanwhile, the upward ridge at the end of his brow suggests he won't give in to life. Only a young man like him would remember and never forget those who have hurt him.

The closer Kim Seo-jin looked, the more satisfied she became with Song Kye-hyun. Song Kye-hyun's facial features and shape were perfect for photogenic viewing, making him a very endearing face. While such a face might not strike you as stunning at first glance, you'll gradually be captivated by its charm as you grow older.

Kim Seo-jin didn't even let Song Qixian audition. Out of a director's intuition, he was sure that Song Qixian would not disappoint him.

Song Qixian didn't immediately accept Jin Ruizhen's invitation. Firstly, his doubts had not completely disappeared. Secondly, he was already a trainee under Death Company, so if he wanted to go, he would need the company's consent.

Song Qixian did not hesitate for too long, because Choi Byung-hee found out about it the next day.

Choi Byung-hee called Song Qixian to his office and asked him what he thought, whether he agreed or rejected it.

Song Qixian pondered the president's attitude and did not answer for a moment.

Choi Byung-hee advised him not to hesitate any longer.

"Director Jin is a very serious director. He has a deep respect for movies, so if you can play a role in one of his films, you will definitely benefit a lot."

Choi Byung-hee paused and continued, "Your qualifications are a bit too much for a trainee, so I also hope that you can find another path that suits you. Perhaps this is your chance."

Song Qixian felt relieved, nodded, and told Choi Byung-hee his choice, saying that he was willing to give it a try.
