84 The dusty past
The story of Kim Joon-hyuk and Park Yoo-eun begins on a very ordinary autumn day.
The two attended the same arts high school, in the same grade and class. The difference was that Park Yoo-eun immediately became a prominent figure at the century-old school, while Kim Joon-hyuk remained a bespectacled, invisible figure.
Park Yoo-eun was just 16 years old at the time, the most brilliant age in her life, with the most unbridled beauty. At the same time, she also had the most vicious heart.
On the first day of school, he drove away everyone who wanted to be friends with him with disgusted looks and sarcastic words.
He is just like the handsome male protagonist in the anime who has shut himself off from others because of his tragic life experience, waiting for a girl to untie his knot.
People kept rushing over, and the ice in Park Yoo-eun's eyes froze everyone to death.
During the first few days of school, Kim Jun Hyuk really disliked him. It was unfair that such an arrogant and conceited guy could win everyone's love just because of his deceptive appearance!
This anger reached its peak after learning that Park Yoo-eun had interviewed for M Company, and Kim Jun-hyuk vowed to join M Company as well.
If things had continued to develop like this, their relationship would at best be that of classmates who never interacted with each other. Years later, it might become one of the Kpop lists of classmates relationships you didn't know about.
But something else soon happened.
Kim Jun Hyuk's childhood sweetheart Rowena fell in love with Park Yoo Eun, and it was like a bolt from the blue for Kim Jun Hyuk when he found out about it.
Rowena is Kim Jun Hyuk's neighbor and his best friend since childhood. It was her encouragement that inspired Kim Jun Hyuk to enter the entertainment industry.
She has set her sights on Park Yoo-eun, which is terrible news for Kim Jun-hyuk.
Kim Jun Hyuk couldn't accept it for a moment, and he slandered Park Yoo Eun without thinking.
But Yi-na stopped him sternly. “He’s the way he is, for a reason,” she said, “Jun-hyuk, you can’t make assumptions about him. It’s unfair.”
Ina is a kind-hearted girl. Although she fell in love with Park Yoo-eun at first sight, she also knew that she could not force him. If possible, she and Park Yoo-eun could start as friends.
After learning that Rowena had prepared a heartfelt "friendship letter," Kim Jun-hyuk felt a pang of sadness. In his heart, Rowena deserved the best man in the world. That man definitely wasn't Park Yoo-eun.
After knowing that Kim Jun Hyuk had a problem with Park Yoo Eun, Rowena did not ignore it. She said: "Jun Hyuk, I will definitely have someone I like in the future, and maybe even have one or two children. But you will always be my best friend. I am not the kind of person who values love over friendship. So, you will support me in bravely pursuing love, right?"
What could Kim Jun Hyuk say? No matter how much he hated Park Yoo Eun, he had to admit that Park Yoo Eun's appearance and background were both top-notch in the art school. Ina liked him, and he had no right to object.
Having to accept the fact, Kim Jun Hyuk began to observe Park Yoo Eun during the break. He found that Park Yoo Eun was not so annoying recently. When someone talked to him, he did not curse at them rudely. Although his face was still sour, compared with before, it was an improvement.
Fortunately, the person Ina likes is not a hopeless person, Kim Jun-hyuk thought.
The day Yi-na went to see Park Yoo-eun was a cloudy day, threatening to rain. Kim Joon-hyuk was conflicted, wanting her to get what she wanted, but also wanting Park Yoo-eun to reject her cleanly so he wouldn't have to constantly face this person he hated.
So, when Kim Jun Hyuk received a call from Ina and heard her sad feedback, his first reaction was relief. But Ina was very sad, so Kim Jun Hyuk anxiously comforted her and said he would go to her right away.
But then, there were sharp brake sounds and collision sounds from the other end of the line, and then the call was hung up.
Jin Junhe was shocked and the strings in his head broke.
Rowena had a car accident at the school gate. The police diagnosed it as an accident. The accident scene was tragic. Rowena died before the ambulance could take her to the hospital.
Kim Jun-hyuk vomited the first time he saw the car accident scene. Red and white things were scattered everywhere, and the whole scene was filled with the smell of blood and fresh meat.
In a trance, Jin Junhe saw a ball of paper in a corner, and inside the ball of paper was a "friendship letter" written by Rowena.
He looked up and saw Park Yoo-eun, who was looking frightened, in the crowd.
After that, Kim Jun Hyuk completely hated Park Yoo Eun. If it weren't for him, Ina wouldn't have been run over twice because she was too sad to avoid a passing truck. Poor Ina, her last sight was with someone like Park Yoo Eun.
Kim Jun Hyuk, who had already passed the initial audition at M Agency, went to AHE for an interview. He didn't want to see Park Yoo Eun again, but at the same time, he also hoped to defeat Park Yoo Eun, who was also an idol, at AHE.
-
Kim Jun-hyuk told a story in a calm voice, but Song Qixian could feel his grief over the departure of his friend from his voice.
People are always like this. The more sad they are, the more they have to pretend that they have no feelings at all.
Song Qixian felt the same way. When he learned that the dean's mother had passed away, he felt the same way. He blamed himself for everything.
"Do you still miss her?"
Jin Junhe lowered his eyes, "I don't dare to go see her. I'm afraid to remember what happened that day."
“But you still blame yourself.”
Jin Junhe turned around suddenly, and his voice was obviously unstable.
"Yes, I blame myself. I didn't stop her, and I also put a lot of things on Park Yoo-eun. But Park Yoo-eun is not innocent."
"You know how he rejected Yi-na? He said Yi-na wanted to be with him only because she wanted to be the center of attention in the school. He said Yi-na was only interested in his appearance and that she was superficial and fake."
"Language is a sharp blade. Although Park Yoo-eun has not been punished by law, in my heart, he is using the knife to torture Ina bit by bit."
"That's what I hate most about him. He's always been like this, hasn't he? He never keeps his mouth shut. Whether before or after becoming an idol, he's never changed. And it's only you and your teammates who keep doting on him."
"Song Qixian, can you say that the illegitimate child you encountered some time ago had nothing to do with Park Youen?"
Song Qixian held his breath, "How did you know?"
Jin Junhe's face was full of sarcasm. "There's no such thing as an impenetrable wall. How can there be something completely confidential?"
Song Qixian pursed his lips, thinking about his wording.
Finally, he said, "I can't interfere with what's going on between you and Youen. But I'll analyze it from an observer's perspective."
"First of all, Yoo-eun is definitely wrong. He hurt your friend. But Jun-hyuk, will revenge on Yoo-eun make you feel better? Does your friend Yi-na want you to dwell on hatred forever?"
"I know that no matter what I say today, it seems like I'm speaking for Youen. But you are also my friend. I hope you can forget the hatred, or at least let go of yourself. Live a good life from now on."
Jin Junhe originally had his back to Song Qixian, but after hearing this, he slowly turned around and said in a complicated tone: "I really envy Park Youen, he has a friend like you."
He turned away, no longer discussing the issue. "There's no way he and I will ever reconcile. Super and Kaleido will always be competitors."
"I didn't come to you today just for this matter."
"I want to remind you that someone is targeting Kaleido, and Park Youen is one of their targets. This is what I told Zhou Heyu."
Song Qixian couldn't help but say, "Thank you, Junhe."
Jin Junhe looked up at the sky, a hint of bitterness in his smile. "There's nothing to thank me for. Just think of it as my conscience being awakened. I'm not a good person anyway. I'm afraid that in your and Park Yuen's world, I'm just a stereotyped villain."
There was a glint in his eyes. It was the first time he shared so many true words with others.
Maybe Song Qixian is a little different. He got to know him and felt his sincerity. If it weren't for Park Yoo-eun, he really wanted to be good friends with him.
But from now on, we can no longer be friends, we can only be rivals, Kim Jun Hyuk said self-deprecatingly.
-
Song Qixian stayed there alone for a long time, and finally he sent a long message to Jin Junhe.
"I'm sorry. I think I hurt you. I admit that I have always been wary of you and I always suspected that you had ulterior motives. But I just realized that my vigilance also hurt you."
"I can feel that you are kind, but you always cover yourself with a layer of cloth so that I can't see your true heart. Of course, I am the same. We both wear a thick layer of cloth when we talk."
"I used to have almost no friends, but I have people I cherished from childhood, so I know how painful it is to lose them. You've been stuck in the same place for a long time, right? Maybe you dream about your friends in many dreams. I feel sorry for you, but my words may have worsened the pain in your heart."
"I'm sorry, I can't make friends wholeheartedly anymore, so I can't repay your sincerity. But my dear friend, I sincerely hope everything goes well for you in the future. Good night, junhe."
After reading this, Kim Jun Hyuk deleted Song Qixian as a friend.
He looked up at the sky, but the crystal tears in his eyes never fell.
-
Song Qixian returned to the hotel, opened the door of the room and found Park Yoo-eun sitting on the sofa waiting for him.
"Going to see Kim Jun Hyuk?" Park Yoo Eun's face was no longer impatient. He seemed to have grown up overnight and was no longer like a child who asked his good friend not to play with other people.
"Yes, he told me about your past."
A trace of pain appeared on Park Yoo Eun's face. He covered his face and said, "I'm sorry, I didn't know she would have a car accident. I just wanted her to stop bothering me in the future. I really didn't know it would be like that..."
Song Qixian condescendingly held Park Youen in his arms and said softly, "What's past is past. It was just an accident that neither of you wanted to happen."
"Youen, can you promise me something?"
Park Yoo Eun looked up with red eyes: "I promised you, what is it?"
Song Qixian looked at him and said seriously: "Never lick your wounds alone. At least you have to tell me where you went."
