Chapter 7
Bai Cangze felt like he was possessed.
After returning to Kunze Palace in the evening, he stayed indoors and sat alone in front of the desk, pen in hand, staring blankly at the open book in front of him.
He pondered for a long time, hesitated again and again, and pondered over it repeatedly before finally picking up his pen and starting to write on the blank notebook in front of him: "Father God and Mother God, today's events are extremely strange. I hope you can guide me."
After finishing writing, he was about to put pen to paper when he thought of something else. He lowered his head and added another sentence.
"What I ate today was delicious. I'll try it again soon."
Ji Mingqing didn't know that the little white cat he was feeding was none other than Lord Bai, the most noble one in the fairy world, whom he had always wanted to meet. He was now sitting at the table like he was yesterday, watching Lu Jiyao sweep away everything in his path.
"Is it really okay for you to eat so much?" Ji Mingqing looked at Lu Jiyao, who was eating his second bowl of fish and taking out his ninth steamed bun, and asked with some concern: "Eating like this is not good for your stomach."
Lu Jiyao raised his head and grinned at him, "No."
Then Ji Mingqing saw a huge wolf head appear in front of him, "I will be fine like this."
Without waiting for Ji Mingqing to reply, Lu Jiyao lowered his head and continued to eat madly. Ji Mingqing was sitting opposite Lu Jiyao and was so shocked by his transformation that he couldn't recover for a long time.
It was not until Lu Jiyao picked up the basin to drink the soup that Ji Mingqing quickly said, "Don't let it leak, don't let it leak!"
When Lu Jiyao put the basin back on the table, Ji Mingqing looked at the clean bottom of the basin and realized that he had thought too much. He handed Lu Jiyao a glass of water and said, "Rinse your mouth. I have some more. You can take some with you when you go to the fighting arena tomorrow."
Lu Jiyao's eyes lit up immediately, "Really? Thank you so much!"
"That's fine, but there's something I need your help with." Ji Mingqing started to discuss with Lu Jiyao, "Could you help me talk to your colleagues tomorrow and spread the word? If anyone is interested, they can reserve meals from me every day."
This was the first step Ji Mingqing thought of. He had to cook every day anyway, whether cooking for one person or for a group of people. If someone liked it, then he could just treat it as another way to make money.
"Okay!" Lu Jiyao patted his chest and promised, "If nothing else, at least two people will definitely like it. I'll take care of it!"
After listening, Ji Ming smiled and said, "From now on, I'll take care of your meals."
When Lu Jiyao heard this, he immediately shook his head and said, "No, I can't take advantage of this."
Ji Mingqing wanted to speak up and persuade him. He sincerely wanted to thank Lu Jiyao for all the help he had given him. But then he heard Lu Jiyao say, "I eat too much. You can't afford it."
Ji Mingqing: "..." What he said is not without reason!
"Just give me a discount next time." Lu Jiyao smiled at Ji Mingqing with eight teeth showing, "That way I can save a little."
"Okay!" Ji Mingqing patted Lu Jiyao's shoulder heavily. What a good brother!
Then Ji Ming shared his discovery of the day with his good friend while drinking. "You know, when I was cooking today, a kitten appeared and kept me company."
"Really?" Lu Jiyao was curious. "Is it a spirit beast? Spirit beasts are supposed to have their own territories and rarely interact with immortals."
Spiritual beast? Probably, that kitten looks quite spiritual.
"It is also possible that it was raised by other immortals, but the spiritual beasts in the immortal world are not ordinary, so you must not offend him." Lu Jiyao said earnestly.
Ji Mingqing quickly said, "I like him so much, how could I possibly offend him?"
Ji Mingqing has liked cats and dogs since he was a child, but he never had the conditions to do so. When he was in college, he petted the stray cats on campus to satisfy his curiosity. He originally thought of getting a cat and a dog after he graduated and settled down, but in the end he didn't have the time.
I never thought that there would be a chance to realize it now.
"Do you smell anything?" Wolf-headed Lu Jiyao gently patted Ji Mingqing's shoulder, causing Ji Mingqing to stagger.
Ji Mingqing regained his balance and sniffed hard, "No, what's wrong?"
"There's a smell I haven't smelled before. Is there something planted outside? I'm going out for a walk. Do you want to come?" Lu Jiyao suddenly turned around. Ji Mingqing looked at his wolf head and was still a little uncomfortable.
"No, no, I plan to practice tonight." Ji Ming waved his hand at him, "You go ahead."
"Then I'll leave." Lu Jiyao turned and left, and Ji Mingqing also returned to his own small courtyard.
When he reached the door, Lu Jiyao changed his wolf head back. Ji Mingqing even heard him muttering to himself, "How come it disappeared as soon as I came out..."
The next morning, Ji Mingqing got up early. After delivering the packaged meals to Lu Jiyao, he went to his own small house.
I thought he had come early enough, but I didn't expect the kitten to be waiting in the house. When Ji Mingqing saw him, he smiled happily, "You came so early, I will make you something delicious right away."
Ji Mingqing discovered that if he called himself brother, the kitten would ignore him.
Bai Cangze felt that he was really crazy. He didn't practice well during his good time, but came to this poor and remote place just for a meal.
"We made fish balls yesterday, so let's make some shrimp balls today." Shrimp balls are chewier than fish balls. The kitten ate up all the shrimp on the plate yesterday and it seems that he is not averse to the taste of shrimp.
The kitten really likes the taste of fish and shrimp.
Bai Cangze didn't know why Ji Mingqing could still be so happy when cooking. He once inspected the chefs in his palace when they were preparing dinner. All the chefs had serious expressions, as if they were treating the ingredients in their hands with the most meticulous attitude.
The food made in this way was not as delicious as the one Ji Mingqing made while singing, which resulted in him having no desire to eat for so many years.
When he returns, he will let the chefs study hard. There are so many Golden Immortals, but their level is not as good as that of a little immortal who is almost an immortal.
The Lord of Kunze Palace was dissatisfied.
"Mimi, I might be very busy soon and won't be able to play with you." Ji Mingqing said, his hands never stopping. "I wonder if my colleagues can successfully contact them. I hope so, then I can have another income."
After Ji Mingqing finished speaking, he seemed to have thought of something else. "But it doesn't matter if they don't like it. I plan to try growing fairy grass in the yard later. If it succeeds, it will also be a considerable income."
"The fairyland is so nice. The air is so nice, the scenery is so nice, and the people I meet are all so nice. I'm so lucky." Ji Mingqing became happier and happier as he spoke, and he began to hum a tune unconsciously.
Finally, the shrimp and tomato soup Ji Mingqing made was ready. He turned around and asked, "Do you want to serve it separately like yesterday, or put it in a bowl?"
Bai Cangze raised his paw and pointed at the empty plate beside him. Ji Mingqing immediately understood, "Okay!"
I didn’t expect that the kitten could really understand. The fairyland is really great!
Ji Mingqing also filled a large bowl for himself and placed it on the table. The man and the cat ate face to face. While eating, Ji Mingqing said to the kitten opposite him, "Do you like shrimp balls?"
Seeing the kitten eating without answering, Ji Mingqing smiled and said, "I wonder if you have a place to live? Do you want to live with me in the future?"
How happy it would be to live with a kitten.
Bai Cangze raised his head and glanced at him, then continued to eat with his head down, not even taking to heart what Ji Mingqing had just said.
"Komaru? What do you think?"
Maru? What maru?
Bai Cangze raised his head with a puzzled look on his face, then he saw Ji Mingqing looking at him expectantly, and then he realized that Xiaowan was actually me!
Then Bai Cangze lowered his head again and said, "Forget it, Xiaowan is Xiaowan, what does she have to do with me, Bai Cangze?"
Seeing that the kitten tacitly agreed to the name, Ji Mingqing was in a good mood. It is said that a name is the most effective way to make people feel a sense of belonging, and this must be the case for the smart kitten.
"You seemed to like the shrimp balls and fish balls I made these past two days, so I called you Xiaowan. I'm so glad you liked them!"
Bai Cangze didn't know why Ji Mingqing thought the fairyland was good. It was a stagnant place and very boring. The fairies basically never communicated with each other. If he didn't have to stay here, he would have left early like everyone else.
"Please keep me company while I grow the magic herbs. Otherwise, I will be very bored. It will be different with you around." Ji Mingqing discussed with Xiaowan.
Bai Cangze didn't say anything. While he was still thinking, the familiar smell from yesterday appeared again.
He suddenly looked up, his eyes sharp, but the smell seemed to exist only for a moment, and before Bai Cangze could fully grasp it, it had dissipated into the air.
"What's wrong?" Ji Mingqing saw that Xiaowan seemed to be in an abnormal state, and then saw the empty plate on the table.
"Not full yet? Blame me. I was too busy talking just now. Wait for me to serve you another bowl!"
After saying that, Ji Mingqing hurried back to the pot and filled a plate of shrimp balls for Xiaowan.
Bai Cangze: "...Forget it"
It’s okay to have another plate.
After dinner, the man and the cat came to the front yard. The front yard was not big and there was only a small piece of land that could be used for planting. Ji Mingqing planned to use this small garden to practice first.
"...First put the seeds in water, then silently recite the [Yunsheng Jue]. What is the Yunsheng Jue?" Ji Mingqing quickly took out the encyclopedia jade slip, found the Yunsheng Jue, and began to recite it haltingly.
"Then take out the seeds, place them in the sun, and silently recite the [Suoyang Jue] three times." Ji Mingqing quickly found the Suoyang Jue again. He didn't recognize some of the words on it, so he had to guess before he finished reciting it.
"Finally, bury the seeds one inch deep in the ground, then recite the [Tengfa Jue] towards the ground."
"Tengfa Jue Tengfa Jue..." Ji Mingqing held the jade slip in one hand and the shovel in the other. He recited the "Tengfa Jue" loudly towards the place where the seeds were buried. Then he patted the dirt off his body and said to Xiaowan expectantly, "We will know whether it succeeded or not in a quarter of an hour."
Bai Cangze knew from the beginning that Ji Mingqing would not succeed. First of all, he made many mistakes when reciting the formula, and the seeds he bought were not of the best quality. According to his estimation, only one in ten would survive.
Forget it, since he wants to plant it, it’s not impossible for me to help him later.
Bai Cangze jumped onto Ji Mingqing's recliner, closed his eyes and enjoyed the sunshine. A quarter of an hour later, he actually heard Ji Mingqing's excited voice.
"It's sprouting! It's sprouting! Xiaowan, come and see!"
Bai Cangze was a little bit unbelievable. How could this be possible? His judgment had never been wrong!
He jumped to Ji Mingqing's side as fast as he could and looked at the neat row of green buds in disbelief.
They are all alive!
The author has something to say:
Cang Ze's Diary: Father God, Mother God, what should I do if I made a mistake in judgment today? It's a bit embarrassing, but luckily no one knows.
