Chapter 175 Do You Miss Me?

Chapter 175 Do You Miss Me?

The emperor and the empress played with the child for a while. It was afternoon, and Lin'er fell asleep after a while of making a fuss.

Jiang Yingli carried him to the small room where Xiao Chenglan had rested before. She put him down carefully, and before she could stand up, she felt a warm embrace coming from behind.

"Lin'er misses me, do you miss me?"

Jiang Yingli was slightly stunned, as if she hadn't expected Xiao Chenglan to ask such a question. She hesitantly said, "Your Majesty, why is he suddenly so cheesy? Let's go out and talk, so as not to disturb him and start crying again."

"But I miss you so much."

As soon as she finished speaking, Jiang Yingli almost screamed, but fortunately she covered her mouth in time.

Xiao Chenglan picked him up by the waist and was able to free one hand to lift the bead curtain and leave the hall. The palace maids who were originally standing in the hall to serve lowered their heads and quietly withdrew.

Jiang Yingli pushed his chest, "Your Majesty, what are you doing?"

Xiao Chenglan placed her on the dragon throne, supporting her with his arms on both sides, holding her tightly in his arms. He leaned over to look at her, emotions surging in his dark eyes.

"I miss you so much."

Jiang Yingli was a little confused, "But Your Majesty and I haven't seen each other for only two days."

Xiao Chenglan's eyelashes trembled, and his voice became hoarse: "Jiang Yingli, it's been a long time since you took the initiative to kiss me."

When Jiang Yingli heard him say this, she raised her head and kissed his lips.

Like rain after a long drought, Xiao Chenglan immediately returned the kiss, his movements becoming more and more urgent.

Any slight struggles were firmly restrained by his hands and knees, and she was pinned to the dragon throne. After a deep kiss, Jiang Yingli leaned limply against the backrest of the dragon throne, her almond-shaped eyes watery as she looked at the person with red eyes so close to her.

She couldn't help but reach out and touch Xiao Chenglan's cheek, pressing her fingertips on the corners of his red eyes. It seemed as if something in her heart was about to burst out, carrying with it some unspeakable pain.

"Why is your majesty so sad?"

"Don't you know why I'm sad?" Xiao Chenglan rubbed his cheek against her warm palm, his voice sounding very aggrieved.

Jiang Yingli's eyes, which had been clear for a moment, gradually became confused.

"I understand. Your Majesty, do you want me to sleep with you? Then I will go to Changyang Palace tonight."

Xiao Chenglan's eyes dimmed instantly. He grasped Jiang Yingli's shoulders and spoke in an almost urgent tone, "That's not the case. What I want is not my bed! I want your eyes, your gaze, your heart, all focused on me."

Jiang Yingli looked very conflicted: "What about Lin'er? He's still so young. As soon as I leave him, I feel so sorry for him. Lin'er needs me."

Xiao Chenglan had thousands of words stuck in his throat, and in the end he couldn't say the words to ask her to leave Lin'er alone.

Xiao Chenglan knew that the paranoia deep in his heart was different from that of ordinary people, and Jiang Yingli was the normal one between them.

Previously, he could design ways to isolate her relatives and concubines from Jiang Yingli, and Jiang Yingli could tolerate him doing so and even enjoyed it.

But this child can't do that.

Although he loves Jiang Yingli more, it doesn't mean he doesn't love this child.

A deep sense of frustration welled up in Xiao Chenglan's heart.

After a few moments of silence, Xiao Chenan's crying was heard.

"Your Majesty, Lin'er is crying..." Jiang Yingli's expression became visibly nervous.

Xiao Chenglan rubbed his brows, stood up, and made way for her. Jiang Yingli walked over quickly.

After coaxing Lin'er, Jiang Yingli left after a short while.

At night, Xiao Chenglan went to Zhaohua Palace very late, and Jiang Yingli had already gone to bed.

Xiao Chenglan was wearing a black and gold dragon robe, covered in moonlight, and stood silently in front of the small bed. His figure almost merged with the shadow outside the moonlight.

He bent down and found that Lin'er was still looking around with his eyes open, but he didn't make any sound.

Xiao Chenglan put his finger to his lips, signaling him to be quiet, then gently picked him up and walked a few steps away from the brocade tent.

"You are a good boy. You know your mother is asleep. You were so noisy during the day, but now you are quiet."

Lin'er grinned happily, fiddling around with his little hands. Xiao Chenglan lifted him up and shook him, and Lin'er became even more excited.

Xiao Chenglan played with him for a while, then held him back in his arms and touched his little nose with his fingertips.

But as if he thought of something, his smile faded, his expression became serious, and his tone was no longer that of a father admonishing his child, but that of a king admonishing his crown prince.

"Xiao Chen'an, I made you the Crown Prince because your mother is Jiang Yingli. If you are no longer useful in the future, I will still train ministers to assist you in governing and ensure that you become a king who maintains the status quo."

"But your mother loves you so much, she loves you so much that you are the only child she has eyes for. If you dare to disrespect your loving mother in the future, I will not only depose you, but also expel you from the capital."

There was a sound of a shelf collapsing behind him. Xiao Chenglan turned around suddenly and saw Jiang Yingli standing barefoot in front of the brocade tent, covering her mouth with her hands, her eyes filled with panic.

"Your Majesty, what are you saying to Lin'er? Lin'er is still so young, how can you scare him like this?"

When Xiao Chenglan saw Jiang Yingli's panicked eyes, his heart tightened and he took a step forward anxiously.

"Li'er, don't look at me like that."

Jiang Yingli took a step back, but then strode forward again and rushed in front of him: "Your Majesty, give me Lin'er."

Xiao Chenglan let go of Xiao Chenan when she reached out to hug him.

Jiang Yingli held him in her arms, turned her back to him and coaxed him gently.

"Don't be afraid, Lin'er. Mother is here."

Xiao Chenglan's eyes were fixed on Jiang Yingli's profile, and he walked straight towards her.

Jiang Yingli felt his footsteps following her and kept backing away. The panic in her eyes became more and more obvious as Xiao Chenglan approached.

Xiao Chenglan was irritated by her appearance. His eyes were red and he was filled with hostility, as if he was on the brink of collapse.

"Li'er, don't look at me like that..."

"Don't look at me like that, it makes me sad!"

Jiang Yingli noticed the unusual condition of the person in front of her. She took a few steps back, put Lin'er on the couch, and stood in front of him.

The Xiao Chenglan reflected in her eyes seemed like a trapped beast that was about to roar at the next second. She listened to his hoarse whisper in confusion.

The next second, her wrist was grabbed and she was pressed into Xiao Chenglan's arms with almost brutal force.

Jiang Yingli's alarm bells rang, and she stretched out her hands to push his chest away.

Xiao Chenglan didn't expect her to push him so decisively. He staggered back twice, and the candlestick next to him was knocked over by his sleeve, hitting the ground with a harsh sound.

Jiang Yingli shuddered with fear, the lines on her neck were stretched straight, and her hands were clenched tightly.

After Xiao Chenglan stood firm, he looked at Jiang Yingli who pushed him away in disbelief.

The sound of the candlestick collapsing seemed to be amplified several times in his mind, making him dizzy, with tinnitus and a buzzing in his head.

Why.

He shook his head in confusion, took a few steps back, and raised his fingertips to point at Jiang Yingli with trembling hands.

"How outrageous!"

Jiang Yingli suddenly realized that her action was disrespectful, and she bent her legs and was about to kneel down, but before her knees touched the ground, Xiao Chenglan grabbed her and lifted her up.

Jiang Yingli looked at him, her eyelashes trembling like butterfly wings: "Your Majesty, I was wrong."

Xiao Chenglan's eyes flickered a few times, he closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and when he spoke again his tone had calmed down.

"From today on, you will be fined one year's salary. Reflect on your mistakes."

After saying that, Xiao Chenglan let her go, flicked his sleeves, turned around, and strode away.
