Extra: The Old Story of the Royal Palace (Six)

On the evening of her coming-of-age day, Jiang Yingli sat in the sedan chair, still feeling a little dazed.

She didn't know why Prince Su suddenly invited her into the palace to be his concubine.

Perhaps the flowers she planted were really good and grew prosperously, so he admired her very much and took her as his concubine so that she could take care of the flowers in his house forever.

Jiang Yingli was somewhat happy.

Although her family runs a flower business, there is no place for her to grow her own flowers.

From now on, the entire back garden of Prince Su’s Mansion belongs to her.

After the sedan stopped, Jiang Yingli became more nervous.

Her mother was afraid that she would not be able to serve Prince Su well, so she showed her rare kindness and spent money to find a nanny to teach her.

She couldn't help feeling shy when she thought about what she would do after entering the mansion.

The person who usually only watched from afar, today he had to get close to him...

I dressed up very beautifully today. The wedding dress I am wearing was given to me by him. I wonder if he will think it looks good?

While lost in thought, Jiang Yingli saw a pair of slender, jade-like hands reaching out through the curtain, and she immediately held her breath.

After a short delay, the hands pushed aside the curtain, and a red wedding dress that matched her wedding dress came into view. Behind the curtain, the gentle face was set off by the bright red, making the man look unique and handsome.

Jiang Yingli almost forgot how to breathe.

She saw the jade-like hands reaching out to her.

She reached out her hand and gently placed it on him, and was held tightly.

Jiang Yingli followed his force and walked out, but just as she lowered her head and stepped out of the sedan, she felt someone supporting her lower back. Then, she was steadily lifted up by a pair of strong arms and held in his arms.

Amid the deafening sound of firecrackers, Jiang Yingli looked at the perfect face without a single flaw so close to her and forgot to breathe again.

"Don't be afraid, I will treat you well."

He looked at her and spoke these words to her in a gentle voice.

Jiang Yingli couldn't help but hug his neck tightly and nodded.

The following process was completely different from what Jiang Yingli had learned.

The prince did not carry her directly to the bridal chamber, but took her to a small ancestral hall where a tablet was enshrined.

Jiang Yingli couldn't read, so when Prince Su bowed, she followed suit.

After the worship, the prince took her back to the bridal chamber.

The brocade screen is warm, the red candles warm the tent, and the two dragon and phoenix candles are burning brightly.

The wedding wine and the tying of the knot were things she had never learned before. Fortunately, the prince was very patient and guided her through the ceremony step by step.

Just when Jiang Yingli thought she had finally reached the stage she had learned and could demonstrate her talent, the prince took her hand and sat down beside the couch, then took out a box.

A bracelet lay quietly inside.

He took it out, put it on her, and smiled gently.

"Do you like it?"

Jiang Yingli raised her arms, turned around in the candlelight, pursed her lips and nodded shyly.

Nothing embarrassing happened next. When the prince said he wanted to go to bed, she and he even lay down with their clothes on.

The light from the dragon and phoenix candles was too bright, and she was so nervous that she couldn't sleep at all. She lay beside the man who was once unattainable to her, and looked at his profile cautiously.

Perhaps her gaze was too obvious, which caused the prince to reach out and hold her hand, repeating what he said when he carried her out of the sedan chair.

"Don't be afraid, I will treat you well."

Jiang Yingli felt the constant warmth from his hands and suddenly felt at ease.

She nodded and said the first words she had spoken to him today.

"I'm not afraid."

The moment the prince asked the question, she knew her choice.

Since it was her own choice, she has no regrets.
