Chapter 11 Mother and Son Talk on the Phone

As soon as Yun Muye opened the door, Gu Zhinian and Xiao Tangyuan, one big and one small, were lying on the door, listening to the commotion outside.

"You're back." Gu Zhinian bit his lip awkwardly, turned around and went to the kitchen. He was caught eavesdropping in the corner and felt really ashamed.

"Well, I'll go cook."

"Zhi Nian." Yun Muye stopped her, "Next time you meet someone unreasonable like this, just curse back. Don't worry about me. I don't want you to suffer any injustice."

"Okay, thank you." Gu Zhinian clasped his fingers.

"It's my duty." Yun Muye put the little glutinous rice ball in her arms.

"Play with Xiao Tangyuan for a while, I'll go cook."

Yun Muye walked into the kitchen, took out the meat filling he bought last time, took out the flour and poured it into the basin.

"How about we have wontons for lunch today?"

"good."

Gu Zhinian stood behind him holding the child and hesitated for a moment, "I just heard a fight downstairs."

"Well, it has nothing to do with us." Yun Muye comforted her.

"Han Li was wrong in this matter. You don't have to feel burdened."

Gu Zhinian asked out of pure curiosity, not because she had any psychological burden. She also wanted to hear how the fight started. Yun Muye stopped talking.

Seeing his son eagerly looking at the dough in his hand, Yun Muye pulled off a little dough and gave it to him.

"Take it and play with it!"

"Thank you, Dad!" Little Tangyuan played with the dough with his little hands.

"Ding-ling-ling..." The phone rang. Yun Muye washed his hands and quickly walked over to answer the phone.

"Hello."

"Son, it's me, your mother."

"Mom." Yun Muye sat on the sofa, "What's wrong?"

"I heard from your Aunt Zhang that you found a nanny who looks a lot like my grandson. Tell me the truth, is she Xiao Tangyuan's mother?"

Yun Muye looked up at Gu Zhinian, who was playing with the little glutinous rice balls and didn't pay attention to this side. She covered the microphone with one hand and lowered her voice.

"Mom, do you have anything else to say? If not, I'm hanging up."

"Hey! Don't hang up!" Li Yuling hurriedly called him,

"Your sister took the train to the army to find you."

"What!" Yun Muye sighed, "Why is she here?"

"I asked her to go. I'm at home taking care of my granddaughter and can't get away. Let Yunshuang take care of Tangyuan so that my eldest daughter-in-law won't be burdened. Besides, she's already twenty years old. It's just right for you to find her a suitable partner in the army. If you delay any longer, she'll become an old maid!"

When Yun Muye heard his mother talking about his eldest daughter-in-law, he looked at Gu Zhinian with a guilty look, and covered the microphone with his big hand.

"Mom, don't talk nonsense."

"What nonsense did you say, Mom? I just asked you if she was Xiao Tangyuan's mother, and you didn't say anything. With your personality, if she wasn't, you would have said it long ago. Why would you keep silent?"

"Mom, this matter is very complicated. I can't explain it in a few words. I'll tell you later."

Yun Muye looked at Gu Zhinian as he spoke, "Also, don't mention this anymore!"

Yun Muye asked again, "What time is Yunshuang's train? I'll pick her up when she arrives."

"The train is at 10 o'clock the day after tomorrow. It's the first time that girl is going on a long trip by herself. I wanted your second brother to see her off, but she insisted on going out on her own. When you pick her up, call me back so I can feel at ease."

"I know. Hang up. I still have to cook."

"Go ahead! Don't tire my eldest daughter-in-law."

"You still say!" Yun Muye stood up and pinched his eyebrows. Gu Zhinian looked back at him in confusion.

"Hang up!" Yun Muye hung up the phone and went to the kitchen to continue making wontons.

"My sister is coming the day after tomorrow. I'll clean up the study for her to stay in."

"Oh." Gu Zhinian didn't ask any more questions. No matter how many people came to her employer's house, she would only take care of one little dumpling.

"Yun Shuang is quite lively and easy to get along with."

"Oh." Gu Zhinian smiled.

After Yun Muye finished wrapping the wontons, he boiled water in a pot and threw the small wontons into the pot one by one. After boiling, he scooped out the small wontons with the soup, poured in light soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, a few drops of sesame oil and dried shrimps, added coriander, and served it out.

"Eat quickly."

Gu Zhinian held the little glutinous rice ball farther away, fearing that it would burn him. The wontons were fresh and fragrant, with thin skin and big fillings. One bite and your mouth was filled with juice.

While he was eating, someone knocked on the door. Yun Muye opened the door and saw that it was Zhao Xudong, holding a box of yogurt in his hand.

"Muye, I'm really sorry about what happened today. This is for Xiao Tangyuan, please accept it."

"No need!" Yun Muye refused him, "You can take it back."

"Muye, you must accept it. I'm really sorry for what happened today."

A girl about eighteen or nineteen years old, dark and thin, ran up from downstairs.

"Brother, go home quickly! My sister-in-law's parents are here! They're arguing with our mother at home!"

"What!" Zhao Xudong stuffed the yogurt into Yun Muye's arms and ran downstairs.

Yun Muye was holding a yogurt in his hand, listening to the crying and shouting sounds downstairs. He slammed the door shut. It was too noisy, with chaos everywhere.

"What's wrong?" Gu Zhinian held little Tangyuan in his arms, and both the big and small looked at him curiously.

"A box of yogurt was sent downstairs as an apology."

When little Tangyuan saw Yogurt, his eyes widened, and he stretched out his hand and rushed towards Yun Muye, smiling ingratiatingly.

"Dad, dear dad, what is this?"

Gu Zhinian and Yun Muye couldn't help laughing. The little guy was trying to please him because he was stuttering. Yun Muye raised the yogurt.

"This one says Chinese medicine on it. Baby, do you know what Chinese medicine is? It's a very, very bitter medicine."

"Dad, you're lying. This is yogurt. I've seen sister Tiantian drink it." Little Tangyuan hugged the yogurt tightly, trying to open it with his little hands.
