Old Mrs. Gu, Mother Gu and Li Yuling got along better and better as they talked. Gu Zhinian then turned around and started talking to his grandfather and father. Although they hadn't seen each other for more than ten years, their natural blood relationship made it easy for them to get close to each other.
Old Master Gu held his granddaughter's hand with a trembling hand, "Child, you have suffered a lot these years."
"I'm fine, Grandpa." Gu Zhinian approached him, lowered his head and pulled out a red rope from his neck.
"My brother said that you personally went to the temple to ask for this jade pendant. It is because of this jade pendant that I have lived in peace and security until today."
Old Man Gu took the jade pendant and examined it carefully. "At that time, I went to worship Buddha and donated some money to the temple. The master in the temple asked me what I wanted. I said that I hoped my family would prosper and have many children and grandchildren. It just so happened that I received good news from my family that my granddaughter was born. So I asked the master to carve a jade pendant for you, engraved with your name, to protect you from harm throughout your life."
Gu Zhinian pursed his lips and smiled, "It has indeed blessed me time and time again, always allowing me to turn danger into safety."
Grandpa Gu returned the jade pendant to her with a kind look on his face. "Wear it, don't take it off. Grandpa hopes you will have a peaceful life and everything will go well for you."
"Yeah." Gu Zhinian put the jade pendant back on.
Yun Muye, who was sitting next to him, glanced at his watch. It was already past five o'clock, and there weren't many vegetables and meat at home, so he simply went to the state-owned restaurant to order a table of food and have it delivered.
While everyone was chatting, Yun Muye quietly went out with the car keys, and Xiao Tangyuan chased after him with the tank in his arms.
"Dad! Where are you going to play? I want to go too."
Yun Muye picked him up and said, "Dad is going out to buy groceries. You stay home and play with your uncle."
"I want to go too!"
Little Tangyuan was acting coquettishly and wanted to go out and play with him. Gu Juan came over and asked, "What's wrong?"
Yun Muye glanced at the people on the sofa and whispered:
"I'm going to the state-owned restaurant to order a table."
Gu Juan nodded. His grandparents and parents had finally met Gu Zhinian, so they must be reluctant to leave early and stayed to have a reunion dinner with her.
Gu Juan reminded him softly, "Grandpa and grandma are old and have poor digestion, so they only like to eat light food. My dad likes to drink and eat meat, and my mom likes sweets. You can order according to your taste."
Yun Muye's eyes lit up, and he patted his shoulder with his big hand, "Thanks, brother!"
Gu Juan replied, "As long as you treat my sister well, it doesn't matter."
"Of course, Xiao Tangyuan and I can't live without her."
When Gu Juan returned to the house, little Tangyuan started to act coquettishly and cutely, and was carried away by Yun Muye with a smile.
Yun Muye drove him to the nearest restaurant, trying to get his son to talk along the way.
"Did your uncle take you to the zoo today?"
Little Tangyuan enthusiastically recounted what he had seen and heard today, gesturing excitedly with his hands.
"Yes! Dad, I also saw a big tiger. Woohoo! It's so powerful! And there's a giraffe. Its neck is so long! It's taller than me."
Yun Muye smiled and said, "After visiting the zoo, did your uncle take you to the airport?"
"Yeah! I had fried chicken legs and a soda for lunch. They were delicious."
Little Tangyuan looked at his father with his big round eyes expectantly, "Dad, I want to go again next time. Can you take me to the zoo too?"
"Okay." Yun Muye agreed and asked again,
"Did Grandpa and Grandma talk about Dad?"
Little Tangyuan lowered his head and played with his fingers. He looked up when he heard that. "No! They were talking about Little Tangyuan and praising how great he was!"
Little Tangyuan puffed out his chest proudly. Yun Muye naturally understood what his son meant and continued to praise him.
"The little dumplings are awesome."
"Hehe." Little Tangyuan covered his mouth and laughed secretly.
Yun Muye sighed. He couldn't get anything out of him no matter how hard he tried. He guessed that his mother-in-law's family was only thinking about their daughter and had no time to pay attention to him.
Arriving at the entrance of the state-owned restaurant, Yun Muye parked the car and walked in holding Little Tangyuan. The waiter came over and Yun Muye took the menu and carefully selected the dishes according to the preferences of the four elders. Little Tangyuan pointed at the meatballs and shouted,
"Dad, I want to eat this little dumpling."
"These are not dumplings, they are meatballs. Do you want some?"
Yun Muye glanced at him, and the little glutinous rice balls nodded, "Eat, I want the meaty ones."
Yun Muye corrected him as he selected the dish, "This is meatballs."
Little Tangyuan turned his head stubbornly,
"It's glutinous rice balls. Our glutinous rice balls are all round."
Yun Muye was speechless. "Okay, you are from the Tangyuan family, you have the final say."
After choosing the dishes, paying half of the bill and leaving the address, the boss would send someone to deliver the dishes home. Yun Muye then drove Xiao Tangyuan to buy some fruit.
In front of the fruit stall, Yun Muye squatted on the ground to pick fruits. Xiao Tangyuan was very busy, carrying the fruits into the bag.
"These grapes are sweet. Let grandma try some. Dad, buy a watermelon! It's sweet. Mom and grandma like it too."
"good."
Yun Muye took the watermelon and put it in the bag. The fruit vendor teased Xiao Tangyuan with a smile, "Kid, what do you like to eat?"
Little Tangyuan thought carefully and said, "I like to eat sweet tangyuan, because I am tangyuan."
"Haha..." The boss fanned himself with a big fan and laughed.
After buying the fruits, Yun Muye took Xiao Tangyuan home. When the car drove downstairs, Xiao Tangyuan carried a bag of grapes and Yun Muye carried the rest of the things. The father and son went upstairs hand in hand.
When I opened the door, I heard laughter coming from the house. Little Tangyuan ran over holding Grapes.
"I'm back!"
Everyone looked at him with a smile, and Mrs. Gu asked him, "Little sweetheart, what delicious food did you buy?"
Little Tangyuan held up the grapes in his hand and said, "It's grapes! They're so sweet! I also bought watermelon."
