[This has nothing to do with the main text. This idea was the initial conception of this novel, but I later decided it wasn't good enough and abandoned it. I'm posting this as a side story. Feel free to skip it if you don't like it.]
On Anju Mountain, which has the best feng shui in Hong Kong, the Gu Mansion is brightly lit and dazzling fireworks bloom in the sky. Today is the third birthday party of Gu Zhinian, the daughter of the Gu family. Business leaders take this opportunity to visit the Gu family to discuss cooperation, and socialites and ladies also bring their children to make friends.
Mother Gu was wearing a high-end custom-made dress and holding a doll-like little girl by her hand. The little girl looked around with her big eyes, not shy at all at the people around her. Everyone at the scene was wearing a dress or a suit, toasting each other and chatting happily.
Three housekeepers carefully pushed a twelve-layer cake in a cart. The cake was more than two meters high, and there were six fairy tale princesses on each layer. The children surrounded it with envy, but were held back by their mothers for fear that it would be accidentally overturned.
The old lady of the Gu family walked up to the podium holding her granddaughter's hand.
"Thank you all for coming to my granddaughter's birthday party. My granddaughter is three years old today. She has brought so much joy and happiness to our Gu family. We hold grand birthday parties for her every year. We don't want to miss any of her happy moments. I also hope that you will join us in witnessing her growth."
Old Mrs. Gu picked up the three-year-old Gu Zhinian and asked her to give a speech. Gu Zhinian said into the microphone in a baby voice:
"Thank you all for coming to my birthday party."
There were bursts of applause and praise from the audience, "The daughter of the Gu family is so adorable."
"She's also very beautiful."

After thanking her, Gu's mother took her daughter to blow out the candles and sing birthday songs. Gu's mother half squatted down and kissed her daughter on the forehead.
"My most precious daughter, Mommy will always love you."
Eight-year-old Gu Juan was wearing a black suit, standing next to his sister and singing birthday song with her.
Mr. Gu and his father got rid of those pestering businessmen and came to celebrate their granddaughter's (daughter's) birthday.
Gu's mother advised Gu Zhinian to make three wishes. Gu Zhinian held the jade pendant on his neck in his hand, closed his eyes, and made three wishes. Everyone blew out the candles together and divided the cake.
After eating the cake, Gu Juan took his sister's hand and went to play with friends. Someone brought in a puppy. Gu Zhinian shook off his brother's hand and went to look at the puppy. Gu Juan wanted to go play with friends by himself, but suddenly he remembered the nightmare he had last night. In the dream, his sister was chased by a dog and disappeared. Gu Juan didn't care about his friends and followed his sister.
For some reason, the puppy started barking like crazy. Gu Zhinian was so scared that she ran behind the potted plant and suddenly turned into a ten-centimeter little person. Gu Juan chased after her and happened to see this scene. He was also startled and grabbed the ten-centimeter little sister and put her in his pocket.
Gu Zhinian sat down in his brother's pocket, his heart pounding. Gu Juan returned to the room and carefully took out his sister.
"Niannian, are you okay?"
Gu Zhinian sat on his brother's palm, looked up at his brother's huge head, and was shocked.
"Brother, I've become a tiny little person. I can't grow up!"
"Niannian, don't be afraid. I'm here. I'll definitely find a way to change you back."
Gu Juan comforted her, sang a lullaby, and coaxed her to sleep. Gu Zhinian fell asleep peacefully in her brother's palm. Gu Juan took the small quilt to cover her, put her on the bed, and ran out to find her mother. The sleeping Gu Zhinian emitted a bright light, and her body instantly became larger, becoming the height of a normal three-year-old child.
Gu Juan dragged his mother into the house to see his sister, "Mom, my sister has become a little person."
Gu's mother thought her son was joking and didn't believe it. Gu Juan pointed to the bed and asked her to see that her sister had returned to normal size. Gu Juan was confused.
"Strange, what's going on?"
Mother Gu tapped his little head with her finger and said, "Okay, you stay here with your sister. I'll go out and entertain the guests."
"Oh." Gu Juan stared at my sister without blinking. I don't understand what's wrong with my sister?
After Gu Zhinian woke up, she had already forgotten that she had become small and started playing happily with her brother. When Gu Juan asked her, she couldn't say anything.
From that day on, Gu Juan observed his sister every day. He found that his sister would automatically shrink whenever she encountered danger. Gu Juan asked the family doctor to check his sister. Only when he found that there was nothing wrong with his sister's body did he feel relieved. This was so interesting.
As Gu Zhinian grew up, she discovered that she was different from normal people. Apart from her brother, only her parents knew about her situation. Her parents and brother were afraid that her secret would be discovered by others and would take advantage of her, so they nervously guarded her and did not let her encounter any danger.
Gu Zhinian grew up safely until she was eighteen years old. Miss Gu, who was spoiled by the Gu family, was cute and a little willful. She was not allowed to go out by her parents since she was a child. After completing her coming-of-age ceremony, Gu Zhinian asked her parents if she could go out for a trip.
Of course, Gu's parents wouldn't allow it. "Niannian, your secret can't be known to anyone. Let's just stay home, okay?"
"No!" Gu Zhinian said with a grumble. "Friends my age travel all over the country, but I'm like a young lady from ancient times, locked up at home by you all every day. It's like being in prison. I'm so fed up!"
Gu's parents couldn't persuade her, and they felt sorry for their daughter, so Gu Juan said, "Why don't I go with her?"
Gu Zhinian hugged Gu Juan and acted coquettishly.
"Great! Great! My brother is the best!"
Gu Juan warned: "I can take you out, but when you are outside, you must listen to me, can you do it?"
"Of course!" Gu Zhinian assured.
"Okay then." Gu Juan looked at his parents, "Mom and Dad, I'm going to take Niannian out to play for a few days. Don't worry, she'll be fine with me around."
Mother Gu warned worriedly, "You must keep an eye on your sister and don't let her get into danger. If she becomes smaller, how will you find her?"
"I know." Gu Juan asked Gu Zhinian,
"Where do you want to go?"
Gu Zhinian blurted out, "Inland! I heard the scenery there is particularly beautiful, I want to go and see it!"
"good!"
Gu Juan flew to the mainland with Gu Zhinian in a private plane. Gu Zhinian looked down excitedly from the plane. Three hours later, they passed a primeval forest. A large number of birds swooped down from the forest and hit the plane. Gu Juan was frightened and took control of the plane, shouting:
"Niannian, put on your parachute quickly. When I get a little lower, open the hatch and jump out!"
"Brother! I'm scared!"
The plane was out of control and crashed left and right. Gu Zhinian and Gu Juan both put on parachutes, opened the cabin door and jumped out holding hands. The wind was too strong and the brother and sister were blown apart. Gu Zhinian was frightened and shrank again. The parachute tied to her carried her down and swung back and forth on the branches.
"Help!" Gu Zhinian was young and his voice was soft. Even if someone heard the sound, they probably wouldn't be able to find him.
