Chapter 148 Han Li calls home

Mr. Zhou stayed in the hospital for another seven days, and the doctor told him that he could be discharged.

Zhou Zhichuan took Han Li to the hospital to pick up Grandpa Zhou. After arriving home, Han Li and Zhou Zhichuan each supported one side of Grandpa Zhou, and Zhou's mother asked the nanny to clean the house.

This was Han Li's first time visiting the Zhou family's old house, which was a three-story house with a courtyard. Grandpa Zhou and his father and mother lived here. Zhou Zhichuan lived in an apartment in the provincial capital and came back to stay for two days every weekend.

Zhou's mother took out a thick red envelope and gave it to Han Li.

"Han Li, this is a little gift from my parents, please accept it."

Han Li and Zhou Zhichuan were in a fake marriage, and she didn't want to accept the red envelope. She looked at Zhou Zhichuan, and Zhou Zhichuan nodded at her, signaling her to accept it. Only then did Han Li feel at ease to accept the red envelope.

"Thank you, Mom."

"You're so polite!" After Zhou's mother gave the red envelope, Mr. Zhou sat on the sofa and waved.

"Granddaughter-in-law, come here, grandpa also has a red envelope for you."

Han Li walked over and took the red envelope from Mr. Zhou with both hands.

"Thank you, Grandpa."

Grandpa Zhou smiled and waved his hand, "Give us a child next year, and grandpa will give you a big red envelope."

Han Li smiled awkwardly and Zhou Zhichuan coughed uncomfortably. At this time, a child's voice came from outside the door.

"Great-grandfather, I'm here!"

Han Li quickly put away the red envelope. A chubby little white boy rushed in, followed by a woman dressed in a coat and high heels, dressed in a fashionable style. The woman was about thirty years old, with curly hair. After entering the room, she went straight to the old man on the sofa.

"Grandpa, how are you?"

Mr. Zhou smiled and took his great-grandson in his arms, talking to his granddaughter.

"I'm fine." Mr. Zhou pointed at Han Li and introduced her.

"Shuyun, this is your sister-in-law Han Li. Han Li, this is Zhichuan's second sister. You can call her sister."

Han Li greeted her calmly.

"Hello, second sister."

Zhou Shuyun looked her up and down as she spoke, "Han Li, where are you from?"

"I live in An City." Han Li answered calmly.

Zhou Shuyun asked again, "Anshi? In the city or in the countryside? What do your parents do? Do you have any brothers or sisters?"

Han Li pursed her lips and stared at her with displeasure. She had no obligation to say this to Zhou Zhichuan's second sister. Zhou Zhichuan frowned and scolded her. "Second sister!"

Old Master Zhou interrupted Zhou Shuyun and said, "Shuyun, you're checking the household registration here! Go to the kitchen and see if your mother has cooked."

"Got it! Grandpa!"

Zhou Shuyun rolled her eyes, stood up and walked towards the kitchen. Grandpa Zhou supported himself with his crutches and looked at Han Li.

"Lili, ignore her. Your second sister is always worrying about nothing!"

Han Li did feel a little uncomfortable just now. Zhou Shuyun questioned her like checking her household registration. However, Mr. Zhou protected her, and the discomfort in her heart had long since dissipated. She sat on the sofa and peeled an apple for the old man.

"Grandpa, come and eat an apple!"

Han Li cut another piece of apple for the child, "Kid, you eat too."

The child took the apple and said, "Thank you, Auntie!"

Mr. Zhou corrected him, "Call me aunt."

The child called her "Auntie" again. Han Li smiled slightly. Zhou Zhichuan sat beside Han Li.

"That's my second sister, and this is her son, Xiaohu, who is nine years old. I have an older brother who has a son named Zhuangzhuang. He and his wife took the child back to her parents' home and will be back tonight. I am the third child."

In the kitchen, Zhou Shuyun asked her mother about Han Li.

"Mom, who is this Han Li, and why is she married to Zhichuan?"

Mother Zhou lowered her head while cutting vegetables. "They've been dating for a long time. Your grandfather was sick this time, so Zhichuan brought her here and even got the marriage certificate. I'll prepare everything and hold a wedding for them."

Zhou Shuyun was washing vegetables by the sink and said regretfully, "Mom, I remember Zhichuan and Li Qingmei were very close before. I thought they would be a perfect couple, but who knew Li Qingmei went abroad to study."

Zhou's mother was startled, closed the kitchen door, and lowered her voice, "What nonsense are you talking about? Li Qingmei and Zhichuan have nothing to do with each other. Don't ruin your brother's reputation. If Han Li finds out, I won't forgive you!"

Zhou Shuyun shook the water off her hands and said, "Mom, I don't like that woman. She and Zhichuan are not compatible at all. She doesn't even smile when she sees me. She has a stern face. Who is she showing it to?"

"Shut up!" Zhou's mother's face darkened. "Who are you showing off to? Han Li has a decent job and is beautiful. How can she not be worthy of your brother? If you dare to sow discord again, go back to your in-laws' house!"

Zhou Shuyun was so angry that she threw the food in her hand into the basin, "Just leave! Who wants to stay here?"

Zhou Shuyun pushed open the kitchen door, walked angrily to the living room, and dragged her son away. Old Man Zhou sighed.

"This stinky girl, every time she comes back she makes a fuss. She can't even have a good meal with me."

Han Li pursed her lips and said nothing. Zhou Zhichuan sat beside Mr. Zhou and comforted him. During the meal, Zhou's mother talked about the wedding.

"Han Li, we plan to give you 888 as a betrothal gift for good luck. We'll also give you a TV, a bicycle, and a sewing machine. Do you need anything else?"

"No, thank you, Mom."

Zhou's mother asked again, "The wedding date is set for the 8th of next month. Before that, can you meet your parents so we can discuss the wedding?"

Han Li hesitated and said, "Okay, I'll call them and tell them."

After dinner, Zhou's mother pushed her younger son and daughter-in-law out for a walk. Zhou Zhichuan rode a bicycle and took Han Li to the park. The two of them sat on a bench, one on each side, with the space in the middle wide enough for another person to sit.
