Chapter 149: Paying Money When Being Wronged

Han Li took a deep breath. "I'm just angry. Why? Is it because I'm a daughter? I've been more capable than my brother since I was a child. I'm better at studying and doing things than him. My parents have always liked me more. My brother didn't even graduate from elementary school and can't even read a few words!"

Zhou Zhichuan calmly pointed out the facts.

"That's right! Because you're a daughter, no matter how well you perform, you can't compare to a son who can barely read."

Han Li turned her head and glared at him. Zhou Zhichuan put his hands on the back of the chair.

"I'm telling the truth, but you don't want to hear it."

Han Li stood up and walked forward a few steps, then turned around and stretched out her hand.

"Give me the red envelope! I've been wronged again!"

Zhou Zhichuan raised his eyebrows slightly, smiled, and handed over the red envelopes. Han Li put the two red envelopes back into her bag, patted her hands with satisfaction, and finally felt relieved.

The two sat outside until four in the afternoon, and Zhou Zhichuan took her home on his bicycle. As soon as they got home, they heard the sound of a child.

"Grandpa, my grandpa asked me to bring you a bag of tea!"

Zhou Zhichuan whispered to her, "My eldest brother, his wife, and Zhuangzhuang are back."

Han Li tidied her hair, took Zhou Zhichuan's arm and walked in. A gentle woman and a tall and handsome man were sitting on the sofa talking to Mr. and Mrs. Zhou.

"Brother, sister-in-law, you are back."

Zhou Zhichuan came forward to greet them, and Han Li followed suit, calling them "big brother and sister-in-law." The man and woman both stood up with a smile, and the woman came to Han Li's side.

"You must be Han Li! I heard grandpa and mom mention you and praised you for being very beautiful. Now I see that you are indeed very beautiful. Zhichuan, you are so lucky."

Han Li pretended to be shy and lowered her head. Zhou Zhichuan pulled her to sit on the other side of the chair.

"Sister-in-law, please don't tease her. She will be embarrassed."

Mrs. Zhou sat next to her brother and said, "Ji Zong, look at our Zhichuan. He knows how to protect his wife."

Zhou Jizong patted her and said, "This is your first time meeting your sister-in-law. Be more restrained and don't tease me all the time."

Mrs. Zhou covered her mouth and smiled, and said nothing more.

In the evening, Zhou's mother and sister-in-law were cooking in the kitchen. In the living room, Han Li, Mr. Zhou, his father, Zhou Zhichuan, and Xiao Zhuangzhuang were sitting together chatting. The presence of men in the room made her feel uncomfortable. Han Li got up and went to the kitchen.

"I'm going to help mom and sister-in-law cook."

Mr. Zhou called her, "No need! Just sit down and play for a while while you wait for dinner."

Mr. Zhou loved his little grandson Zhou Zhichuan the most, and he also loved Han Li. Han Li walked to the kitchen.

"Grandpa, I'm going to make you one of my specialties. Please wait."

"Okay." Grandpa Zhou smiled kindly, very satisfied with Han Li, his grandson's wife.

"Zhichuan, you have found a good wife, you must treat her well."

Zhou Zhichuan nodded guiltily and looked back at Han Li.

Han Li walked into the kitchen and saw tomatoes and eggs on the table. She picked up the tomatoes and beat the eggs into a bowl.

"I'll make scrambled eggs with tomatoes."

Zhou's mother smiled and said, "Put a few more eggs in. I also want to try the scrambled eggs with tomatoes made by my daughter-in-law."

"Okay." Han Li only knows how to make simple scrambled eggs with tomatoes and boil noodles, and she doesn't know how to do anything else.

Mrs. Zhou looked at the braised pork in the pot and turned back to make a joke.

"Put another egg in it. I want to try the scrambled eggs with tomatoes made by my sister-in-law."

Han Li smiled at her and said, "Okay!"

Mother Zhou walked out of the kitchen, and Sister Zhou hurried to Han Li's side.

"I heard Shuyun came at noon. This sister-in-law always likes to meddle in our affairs. From now on, no matter what she says, you don't have to pay attention to her. Our grandfather and parents are sensible people and will not be provoked by her."

Han Li looked at her gratefully, "I understand. Thank you, sister-in-law."

Mrs. Zhou smiled and said:

"It's okay. From now on, we are all a family and we should live in harmony."

"Yeah." Han Li likes the Zhou family very much. Except for an aunt who is already married, everyone is very nice.

In the evening, the family sat together for dinner. Grandpa Zhou specially ate the eggs fried by his grandson's wife. The whole family was very supportive and gave Han Li enough face.

Seeing that her youngest son was only concerned with eating, Zhou's mother snorted, "Zhichuan, pick some food for your wife."

Zhou Zhichuan raised his head and saw that everyone was looking at him. He picked up a piece of tender tofu and gave it to Han Li. Han Li politely said thank you. Grandpa Zhou laughed.

"Look at how polite you two are. You don't look like a couple at all."

Han Li was startled and looked at Zhou Zhichuan. Zhou Zhichuan calmed down and picked up another piece of braised pork for Han Li.

"Eat quickly, and don't say thank you. I'm your husband, and it's my duty to serve you food."

Han Li pursed her lips and smiled, picked up the braised pork and put it in her mouth. The Zhou family nodded in satisfaction. Grandpa Zhou said:

"Zhichuan, you should love your wife more. You know, a man who loves his wife will become more prosperous."

"Yes, Grandpa."
