Chapter 154 Han Li's Dissent

Hospital.

After the doctor examined the patient, he told the family, "There's no bone damage. Just apply some ointment and let him rest in bed for about a month. He should be fine. Go home and use a hot water bottle every day to help him heal faster."

"Okay, thank you, doctor."

Zhou Zhichuan picked her up and carried her back to the car. Mother Zhou gave Han Li a piece of bread and a bottle of milk.

"Eat something quickly, you must be starving!"

Han Li took the bread and ate it. Zhou's mother said:

"Let's prepare a wheelchair. Maybe it can be used on the wedding day."

"No!" Han Li refused. "I want to stand up and get married beautifully on my wedding day. I won't sit in a wheelchair. Otherwise, people outside will think Zhichuan is marrying a disabled person."

Zhou's mother was worried about her waist. "Can you stand for a whole day? A normal person would get tired, let alone your waist which is so bad."

Han Li comforted her, "There's still a week left. Maybe my waist will be better in a week."

Zhou Zhichuan was driving and replied,

"It's okay if she doesn't want to sit. As long as I'm here, it's fine."

When she got home, Mr. Zhou was waiting for her at the door with a cane. Zhou Zhichuan carried Han Li into the house, and Mr. Zhou followed, full of worry.

"Lili, are you still in pain?"

Zhou Zhichuan put the man on the sofa and put a cushion behind his waist. Han Li took Mr. Zhou's hand, pursed her lips and smiled.

"Grandpa, I'm not hurt anymore. Don't worry. I'm young and a fall won't be a big deal."

Mr. Zhou sat beside her and carefully instructed:

"Just stay here and rest well. You won't have to go to work for a few days. If you need anything, ask Zhichuan to do it. If you want to eat something, tell the nanny and she will make it for you."

Han Li was moved and held her grandfather's hand tightly.

"Okay, I know, Grandpa, don't worry about me."

Zhou Zhichuan stayed by her side the whole time, serving her tea and water, carrying her to the toilet, and serving her wholeheartedly. In the evening, after returning to the bedroom, Zhou Zhichuan washed her feet and applied a hot towel to the wound.

"I'm going back to the factory tomorrow. Do you want to go with me or stay here?"

Han Li lay on the bed and looked at him, "Here."

"Okay, I'll be back after get off work."

Han Li was surprised and happy, but also felt sorry for him because he would be tired. "Isn't it too tiring? You should live in the city."

"No need!" Zhou Zhichuan insisted running back and forth. "If I don't come, how will you go to the bathroom at night?"

"I can walk slowly holding onto the wall, it's fine."

Zhou Zhichuan shook his head, "I'm not busy recently, so I'll come back and live here."

Han Li smiled sweetly, "Zhou Zhichuan, are you running back and forth because you're worried about me?"

"Well, yes." Zhou Zhichuan sat on the bed and nodded seriously. Han Li's heart was moved. Maybe she was not just wishful thinking.

"Zhou Zhichuan, why are you so nice to me?"

Zhou Zhichuan looked at her.

"You are my wife, do I need a reason to be nice to you?"

"Is that so?" Han Li turned her head away in disappointment. She thought she would hear his confession and then agree to him.

"What’s wrong with you?"

The two were talking peacefully, but she suddenly wanted to sleep. Zhou Zhichuan sat on the bed to check on her, thinking she was not feeling well. Han Li pretended to be asleep, breathing steadily. Zhou Zhichuan helped her sleep by pulling up the quilt, waited until the hot compress time was up, applied the ointment, and then went back to sleep.

At six o'clock in the morning, Zhou Zhichuan got up early. Today was Monday and he had to go to the factory. Han Li had not gotten up yet and was sleeping soundly with her eyes closed. Zhou Zhichuan went to the bathroom quietly to wash up and changed into his suit. Before leaving, he sat on the edge of the bed and looked at the sleeping Han Li. He bent down and kissed her face lightly. His big hands gently rubbed her soft earlobes, and he opened the door and left with a smile.

The nanny downstairs had already prepared the meal. Mr. Zhou and his mother had also gotten up. Zhou Zhichuan sat down to eat.

"Are you going back to the factory today?" Zhou's mother asked him.

"Yes, I'll be back in the evening, so it's convenient to drive back and forth."

Zhou's mother joked, "It's different now that you have a wife. Before, I asked you to come back but you never said so. Now that your wife is home, you run home every day."

Zhou Zhichuan chuckled, "Mom, I feel at ease leaving with you at home. Han Li will always be inconvenienced tonight, and she will be embarrassed to trouble you."

"That's all!" Zhou's mother smiled with relief. "I know. I will take good care of her. Just go to work with peace of mind. No need to flatter me."

Zhou Zhichuan finished his meal and drove away.

Han Li slept until nine o'clock, and Zhou's mother knocked on the door.

"Lili, are you awake?"

"Mom, I'm up!"

Han Li supported herself on the bed with both hands and sat up. Zhou's mother opened the door and came in. Seeing Han Li leaning against the wall to go to the bathroom, she hurried forward to support her.

"Be careful, the floor tiles are slippery."

"It's okay." Han Li endured the pain in her waist and went to the bathroom. As soon as she entered, Han Li said to Zhou's mother embarrassedly:

"Mom, I can do it myself. You go downstairs first! I'll go downstairs to eat later."

"Can you do it yourself?" Zhou's mother tried to take off her pants, but Han Li stepped back in fear.

"Mom, I can do it myself."

Zhou's mother turned and left.

"Okay! I'll go prepare dinner for you. You can take your time cleaning up. There's no rush."

After Zhou's mother left, Han Li breathed a sigh of relief and asked her mother-in-law to take off her pants and watch her go to the toilet. She would be so ashamed and angry that she would hit her head against the wall and die.

"Oh! My mother-in-law is so nice, but I still have worries."

After going to the toilet, Han Li brushed her teeth and washed her face by the sink, then slowly went downstairs, her movements even slower than Grandpa Zhou. Mother Zhou heard the sound on the stairs, put down the work in her hands, and ran up to help her.

"Thank you, Mom."

Zhou's mother helped her down the stairs slowly. A middle-aged woman came in from outside the door. She looked sarcastic and mean.
