Chapter 89 Gu Juan

Han Li took a sip of tea and put it down. "Zhi Nian, where do you live? I'll come visit you later."

"nursing home."

Han Li asked her nervously, "What's wrong with you?"

Gu Zhinian lowered his head and touched his belly, his eyes became gentle,

"I'm pregnant and in a nursing home."

"Really, congratulations." Han Li showed a sincere smile on her face.

After the two separated, Han Li returned home and announced to her parents that she wanted to break up with Zhao Xudong.

Mother Han and Father Han looked at her in surprise. "What's wrong? You're fine, why do you want to break up? Last time, Xudong said he wanted to marry you as soon as possible."

Han Li frowned irritably.

"I was on a date with him, and he brought his sister along. We bought things, and I used my own money. His sister wanted to buy whatever I had, and shamelessly asked me to buy extra. I'm not a sucker. If I had a sister-in-law like that, my life wouldn't be much better if I married into her in the future!"

Han Li didn't decide to cancel the engagement just because of Gu Zhinian's one-sided words. She had also thought about it carefully. With a mother who protects her child like that and a selfish sister-in-law, her life would probably not be easy.

Han's father and mother disagreed with their daughter's breakup, and Han's father advised:

"You're getting married to live with Xudong, not with your mother-in-law or sister-in-law. What does it have to do with them?"

Han Li retorted, "My mother married you so she could live with you, so why is she serving my grandmother every day after marriage?"

"You unfilial daughter!" Han's father pointed at her with trembling fingers. Han Li rolled her eyes and went back to the house to pack her things. She wanted to go out to work and didn't want to stay at home and cause trouble!

Han Li came out carrying a bag of clothes. Han's father roared angrily, "If you leave, don't come back!"

"If you don't want to come back, then don't come back! Who cares about me?"

"Lili! Lili!" Han's mother chased after her, and Han's father pulled her back.

"Don't chase her! Get her out of here! I want to see what she can become!"

Han Li turned around and glared, then strode out with her bag and settled down in the guesthouse.

Gu Zhinian returned to the sanatorium carrying his things.

"I'm back!"

Yun Muye sat on the bed absentmindedly reading a book until he heard her voice. His brows relaxed, he put down the book and took the thing from her hand.

"What's this?"

Gu Zhinian picked up Yun Muye’s cup and gulped down two mouthfuls of water.

"Buy a bunch of fabrics. I want to make a small quilt and clothes for little Tangyuan. However, a small quilt is easy to make, but I don't think I can make clothes."

Gu Zhinian was afraid that little Tangyuan would be embarrassed if she went out wearing the clothes she made, so she decided to just make a small quilt, which was simple and easy to make.

"It's okay." Yun Muye comforted her, "As long as it's made by you, your son will like it."

Gu Zhinian felt so comfortable after being coaxed, and took the things back to his room. After a while, he lowered his head with a bitter face, and Yun Muye followed him slowly.

"What's wrong?"

"I forgot to buy scissors and a sewing kit. I've been losing things lately."

Yun Muye touched her head and said, "It's okay. You can go out and buy it tomorrow. Are you tired? Lie down on the bed and rest for a while."

Gu Zhinian helped Yun Muye sit on the bed, "You should rest too. You are covered in wounds. It's better not to worry about me."

"I'm fine." Yun Muye pursed his pale and bloodless lips.

"Makino, you are alone in the nursing home. Is there no one at home to visit you?"

Yun Muye shook his head.

"I didn't tell them. My mom has to take care of the family every day and can't leave. Yunshuang is still in school, and my dad and Langqian can't be relied on. Telling them would only make them worry more. Let's talk about it later."

"I will take care of you in the future." Gu Zhinian promised seriously.

Yun Muye placed his hand on her belly and gently stroked it, "I should be the one taking care of you and the baby."

Gu Zhinian tilted her head and rested it on his shoulder, interlocking her fingers with his, and placed her other hand on her stomach.

"Muye, I miss my son. I miss my little Tangyuan. He's so well behaved. He's only three years old and knows how to love mom and dad. He always lets us have a bite of something delicious first and pesters us to call him mom and dad every day. He's really an angel baby. I miss him so much."

Gu Zhinian's eyes were red, and she missed her son so much that it ached. She hadn't seen her little Tangyuan for three months. Would he cry himself to sleep every night and wake up crying in the morning?

Gu Zhinian was in a very low mood. She slept with the photo in her arms at night. Yun Muye sat beside the bed and watched over her. When she fell asleep, he wanted to take a look at the photo, but she held it tightly in her arms. Even in her dreams, she still held the photo in her arms as if it were her treasure.

Yun Muye lowered his head and kissed her cheek, his cold eyes covered with tenderness.

"I'm really jealous of myself three years from now. You guys must be very happy!"

It was just daybreak when Gu Zhinian woke up. When she opened the door, she was startled. Han Li was guarding outside the door and waved to her.

"Why are you here?"

Han Li walked into the house, put the breakfast she bought on the table, sat on a stool, and took a bag of soy milk to drink.

"I bought xiaolongbao, fried dough sticks, and soy milk. Come and eat!"

Gu Zhinian went to the sink to wash his hands, picked up a steamed bun and put it in his mouth, his mouth full of juice.

“It’s delicious.”

Han Li smiled and said, "As long as you like it."

After dinner, Han Li said:

"I had a fight with my parents and ran away from home. Now I live in a guest house."

Gu Zhinian sat on the bed and drank some water. "Why are you arguing?"

Han Li twisted her hair with her fingers and sneered nonchalantly:

"They wouldn't let me break up, thinking I was being unreasonable."

Gu Zhinian was speechless. In the past, when Han Li and Zhao Xudong divorced, Han's parents disagreed. They would rather their daughter be beaten to death than let her get divorced, as they thought it was shameful. Han Li once complained to her and cried in front of her.
