It was a clear and cool autumn day in September with a gentle breeze. People were coming and going at the gate of Hong Kong City University. The school welcomed a new batch of new students. The senior students warmly welcomed the new students.
Li Guanqi stepped into the campus accompanied by her parents. The 18-year-old girl was full of curiosity about the new campus. Li's father and mother each pulled a suitcase.
The little girl was wearing a simple pink sweatshirt and blue jeans, a pair of white sneakers on her feet, and a large white schoolbag on her thin shoulders. Her face was filled with a youthful smile, and her black ponytail was swinging playfully behind her head.
"Dad, Mom, look, there's a lake over there, and there's a pavilion by the lake. It's so beautiful!"
Li Guanqi's clear eyes sparkled. She held her mother with one hand and pointed to the lake with the other. The warm sunlight shone through the willow trees onto the girl, and her delicate little face glowed white.
Mother Li looked over with a smile. Two swans were entwined in the lake, the surface of the lake was shimmering, and willow leaves were swaying in the wind.
“It’s beautiful, the environment here is great.”
Father Li smiled and continued, "A good environment will make people feel good, and a good mood will also help them learn."
Li's mother jokingly said, "Teachers are different. They never forget to learn."
Father Li smiled and said:
"Having a good environment is very important for learning. Otherwise, how could there be the story of Meng Mu moving three times?"
Li Guanqi ignored his parents' conversation and ran to the front alone, wandering slowly around the campus. His mother called out:
"Qiqi, don't go too far."
"I know!"
Li Guanqi smiled and turned back, waved to his parents, then turned around and strolled around the campus. School will officially start tomorrow, and many students and parents came to register early today.
From time to time, college students would pass by on bicycles with unrestrained smiles on their faces. Li Guanqi was excited and full of expectations for his future college life.
Beside the tree-lined path, a noble and cool young man was walking leisurely while talking on the phone. He had black hair and clear eyes. It was unknown who he was talking to on the phone. The corners of his mouth were slightly raised, and his voice was as clear as mountain spring water, pure and bright.
Li Guanqi stood there in a daze, his face gradually flushed. Is this a boy who walked out of a comic book?
Yunnan Xian listened helplessly to his mother nagging on the other end of the phone.
"Little Tangyuan, why did you go to school by yourself? Didn't your grandparents accompany you to report?"
Yunnan Xian sighed and rubbed his forehead, thinking back to when he was in high school and his grandparents drove him to school personally. The school gate was jammed with people and there were reporters taking pictures and interviewing. His grandfather hugged him with a proud look on his face and praised him for getting into high school. He still feels ashamed when he thinks about it.
At that time, all the teachers and directors of the school came out to greet him respectfully, and there were also parents and students who tried to curry favor with him. His entire high school life brought him endless troubles. When the university started, he insisted on riding his bicycle to come by himself and did not allow anyone to take him there.
"Mom, I'm not a child. My grandparents wanted to come, but I refused. I don't want to be looked at like a monkey. This is such a shameful thing, once is enough."
"Hahaha………"
Gu Zhinian laughed out loud without caring about her image. When her son was in high school, he was photographed by a reporter from Hong Kong and published in the newspaper. He was praised to the skies and was called a little genius and a child prodigy. He would be praised for nothing.
He was clearly attending school normally. In Tangyuan's opinion, he was no different from others. However, it was reported so extensively that everyone in Hong Kong knew about it. He wished he could find a hole in the ground to crawl into.
After Gu Zhinian finished speaking, Li Yuling took the call again. "Xiao Tangyuan, take good care of yourself. If you have time, call home."
Yunnan Xian has a gentle voice and a smiling face.
"I know, grandma, you have to take good care of yourself too. I'll be back to accompany you during the holidays."
"good!"
Yunnan Xian had just hung up the phone when another ring sounded. He looked down and saw it was his grandmother. She picked up the phone and put it to her ear.
"grandmother."
"Little Tangyuan." Mother Gu's loving voice came, "How are you? Have you finished registering? Do you want grandma to pick you up?"
"It's done, grandma. I want to walk around here, get familiar with it, and then go home for lunch."
"Okay!" Mother Gu asked happily, "How about seafood? Your uncle brought back a big box of seafood from abroad. All of them are lively and fresh."
"OK."
Mother Gu hung up the phone and quickly walked to the kitchen, "Auntie Wang, prepare all the seafood and cook it for lunch."
"Yes, ma'am."
On campus, after Yunnan Xian finished reporting, he rode his bicycle and strolled on the small path. The breeze blew up his hair on his forehead, revealing a delicate and cold face, which made the senior and junior students look back frequently, covering their mouths and screaming shyly.
"Ahhhh... What a divine appearance! He's even more handsome than the ones in the comics. I declare him the undisputed campus idol of the University of Hong Kong!"
A senior student said:
"He should be a new student who just registered. I haven't seen him before."
"Oh! It's a pity that we're about to graduate. The junior girls are so lucky to see such a handsome guy every day. Studying together can be like a date."
After riding his bicycle for a circle, Yunnan Xian put it down, went to the classroom with his shoulder bag on his back, put one hand in his pocket, and walked up the stairs casually.
Li Guanqi walked down from upstairs, staring blankly at the young man walking towards her, one step, two steps... The crisp footsteps seemed to step on her heart, and her heart beat like a drum, unable to stop.
The boy passed by her, and when they stood on the same steps, Li Guanqi held his breath, his heart was about to jump out of his chest. A clean and refreshing smell came from the boy. After the boy left, Li Guanqi loosened his sweaty palms and breathed a sigh of relief.
