Chapter 156 Han Li and Zhou Zhichuan's Wedding

"Dad!" Han Li couldn't help but hugged him and cried.

"I'm sorry. I've caused you so much worry since we were little. I thought you wouldn't come to see me, but I didn't expect you to actually come. I'm so happy."

Father Han sighed, "You are my daughter. I don't know your temper. Children are a debt."

Two days before the wedding, Han's father rented a house outside and moved out temporarily with Han Li. Although the two had obtained a marriage certificate and were legally recognized as a couple, in the eyes of the old man, they were not considered a couple without a wedding.

Han Li's back is not in good condition. Zhou Zhichuan is worried that Han Li will be inconvenienced if she leaves him. He wants to persuade her, but Han's father stops him.

"Son-in-law, I and her mother are at home. We will take good care of her. You don't have to worry."

Zhou Zhichuan had no choice but to drive the three Han family members to the rented house, a two-story red brick building with a yard full of flowers. Han's father only rented it for two days. He would leave as soon as his daughter's wedding was over. He also told Zhou Zhichuan,

"If you think it's too far to go back, you don't have to go back. You all have to go to work, and the journey back and forth will waste time. Her mother and I are relieved to see you."

Zhou Zhichuan was driving and turned his head to look at his father-in-law in the passenger seat.

"We will definitely go back to visit my parents. I have half a month's wedding leave, which is enough time."

Father Han looked at the scenery outside the car and replied.

"Well, come back if you want, just don't delay your business."

"Won't!"

Han Li and her mother sat in the back and listened silently. Han's father turned to Han Li and said:

"Your brother didn't come, and I didn't let him come. He's always been weak and has no ideas. Your sister-in-law is a strong person and doesn't get along with you. If your brother comes, your sister-in-law will make a scene again. I simply didn't tell him. Also, don't tell anyone about the dowry your parents gave you. If your sister-in-law finds out, she'll make a scene again. I'm not afraid of her making a scene, I just find it annoying!"

"I understand!" Han Li responded.

Han's mother sighed and held her daughter's hand.

"Lili, your parents have no choice. With you and your brother, we might sometimes favor your brother, but every family goes through this. Take your brother and your sister-in-law for example. Your dad and I know we can't rely on them in the future. We're just thankful they don't make trouble with us. How could we dare to ask them to support us in our old age? Your dad works so hard to make money just to plan for his old age. If you had a boy, your dad and I would have enjoyed a life of luxury!"

Han Li retorted unconvincedly, "I'm a girl, you can also enjoy the good life with me! Why do you have to be so entangled with boys and girls?"

Mother Han looked up at Zhou Zhichuan and scolded her softly,

"How can a daughter support her parents in their old age? If we tell others about this, they'll laugh at us for not having a son!"

Han Li snorted lightly, secretly complaining in her heart, what's the difference between having a cowardly son who only listens to his wife and having no son at all.

Zhou Zhichuan smiled and said, "A son-in-law is also half a son. It is his duty to provide for his parents in their old age."

Father Han looked at him with satisfaction and said, "You are thoughtful."

When they arrived at the rented house, Han Li liked it at first sight and looked at the flowers for a long time. Zhou Zhichuan helped Han's father move things downstairs, and Han's mother went to the kitchen to boil a pot of hot water.

After finishing the cleaning, Zhou Zhichuan came to Han Li.

"You like it so much?"

Han Li pointed to the colorful flowers in the yard and said to him, "I like these flowers. In my free time, I can sit in the yard to tend to them and drink tea. It would be best if we could build a swing and a pavilion with a stone table and stone bench underneath so I can sit down and rest when I'm tired."

Zhou Zhichuan took a look at the small villa and decided to go back to the city to buy another villa, plant flowers, and then build a swing and a pavilion as Han Li had suggested.

This is a big project. The city is full of buildings now. I don’t know if there are any suitable villas of this type. If not, it would be better to buy a piece of land and build one myself.

Han's mother boiled some hot water and asked Zhou Zhichuan to come into the house for tea. Han Li put one hand on her waist and slowly walked into the house. Zhou Zhichuan supported her. Han Li burst out laughing and felt like she was pregnant. Zhou Zhichuan looked at her inexplicably, not understanding what she was laughing at.

At noon, Zhou Zhichuan stayed for lunch at Han's mother's warm hospitality. After lunch, he wanted to return home as soon as possible because the bridal chamber was being decorated at home and Zhou's mother wanted him to make the decision.

Han Li supported his waist and walked him out. Zhou Zhichuan asked her,

"Is your waist feeling better? You'll be standing all day on the wedding day, so why don't I get a wheelchair?"

"No need!" Han Li shook her head. "When I'm tired, I'll sit in a chair, never in a wheelchair. Believe it or not, if I really sat in a wheelchair that day, even for just a little while, the next day people would only say that you married a cripple and that I wasn't worthy of you."

"Don't talk nonsense!" Zhou Zhichuan wanted to help her into the house, "You can go in and rest. You don't have to see me off."

"It's okay." Han Li said, "As long as I don't make any big movements, I'll be fine. Don't worry."

Zhou Zhichuan squeezed her hand and said, "I'll go back first. I have a lot of things to do at home. If you have anything, call me."

"good."

After Zhou Zhichuan left, Han Li returned to the house with a smile on her face.

On the wedding day, before dawn, the makeup artist came to put on makeup for Han Li. She tied her hair up, put a red flower on the side, changed into a red suit and red skirt, and put on high heels.

Han's mother brought a bowl of cooked dumplings for Han Li to eat. Han Li had just finished eating the dumplings when firecrackers were heard outside the door and a group of children came running in, jumping and skipping.

"Here comes the groom!"

Han's mother hurriedly took the red veil and covered Han Li's head. Zhou Zhichuan walked into the house surrounded by people and his eyes fell on Han Li. Han Li clenched her hands nervously and her palms were sweating.

After Zhou Zhichuan chatted with Han's father and mother for a few words, he picked up Han Li and walked out. Han's father chased after him, "Zhichuan, she has a bad temper, you should be more tolerant of her."
