Yun Muye's body was already weak, and Gu Zhinian hit him hard in the arms and hugged him tightly. The pain made him take a deep breath, and his face was pale. With the little soldier's exclamation, Yun Muye closed his eyes and fainted.
Gu Zhinian was startled and squatted down in panic to hug him.
"Muye, what's wrong with you? Don't scare me!"
The young soldier picked up Yun Muye, put him on the bed, turned around and ran out to find a doctor. Blood was flowing out of his chest again, staining the white gauze red. Gu Zhinian held his hand, his heart clenched tightly.
"Makino, wake up."
The family member accompanying her in the bed next to her called her,
"Comrade, who are you to him?"
Gu Zhinian wiped her tears and said, "I am his wife."
"Oh." The family member nodded. "Your husband is fine now. Don't worry too much. He is much better than when he first came. Men have sufficient yang energy and recover quickly. Don't worry too much. Look at my husband. He broke a leg and asked me to take care of him. He dragged his broken leg and walked faster than me. He still needs my care?"
The man with the broken leg pulled her and shouted at the top of his voice:
"Are you done yet? I broke my leg and you're shouting about it to the whole world!"
"What are you doing? I'm talking to my comrade!"
Wang Yanmei turned around and glared at him. The man turned sideways and covered his face with his hands. "Hmph! I'm not going to pay any attention to you, you nagging bitch!"
Gu Zhinian glanced at the man with a broken leg on the bed. One leg was tied tightly from foot to knee.
A doctor rushed over and asked, "What happened? He fell right after the operation?"
Gu Zhinian lowered his head and hid back guiltily. The doctor removed the gauze on Yun Muye's chest, cleaned the blood, and checked the location of the wound. Gu Zhinian raised his neck and looked forward. A finger-long wound was oozing blood, which was shocking to see.
After treating the wound, the doctor told the young soldier to take good care of himself and not to fall again. The young soldier nodded repeatedly.
Gu Zhinian moved a stool over and sat beside the bed, holding his big hand tightly with his fingers, interlocking his fingers. The little soldier saw Gu Zhinian and scratched his head in confusion.
"Comrade, who are you?"
Gu Zhinian looked up at him and said, "I am Yun Muye's wife."
"Impossible! Captain Yun doesn't even have a partner, so how could he possibly get a wife?"
Company commander? Gu Zhinian was stunned. Isn't he the battalion commander? Just when he was about to ask, Yun Muye's hand moved. Gu Zhinian hurriedly bent down to look at him. Yun Muye opened his eyes and heard a woman's soft and gentle voice.
"Muye, you're awake now. Does your wound still hurt? I'm sorry. It's all my fault. I didn't know how to handle the situation and made you faint."
Yun Muye looked at her with unfamiliar eyes, and felt a warm hand grabbing his hand. The tip of his ears turned red. He pulled his hand back, but it didn't move. He turned his head and saw Gu Zhinian with tears in her eyes, looking at him tenderly, holding his hand tightly.
It was the first time that Yun Muye was so close to a girl, and his face was so red that it almost burned.
"Comrade, let go! You must have mistaken me for someone else. I don't know you."
Before Gu Zhinian could react, the young soldier took over the conversation.
"Right! I told you the company commander couldn't possibly get married. He doesn't even have a partner!"
Gu Zhi bit her lip and looked at him in disbelief. Her eyes were red and she looked at him aggrievedly, just like little Tangyuan when she was wronged.
"Muye, what are you talking about? I'm your wife, how can you say you don't know me?"
Seeing her crying, Yun Muye tensed up and subconsciously coaxed her:
"Don't cry, let's talk it over nicely."
Gu Zhinian's eyes fell on his injured head, and he immediately understood what was going on. He stretched out his slender fingers and touched his head with heartache.
"Muye, you were injured, your brain was damaged, and you lost your memory, so you don't remember me. It doesn't matter. I won't despise you, nor will I abandon you."
Yun Muye looked at her as if she was a fool. This girl must be the one who had her brain broken. He winked at the young soldier Kang Xiaoming behind him. Kang Xiaoming understood instantly and turned around to run to find a nurse.
"Nurse, there's a girl with a mental problem in our ward. Go and take her away quickly."
Two young nurses followed curiously. One of them was the one who had just saved Gu Zhinian.
"Hey! Why are you here? Did you call your husband? Ask him to pick you up."
Gu Zhinian let go of Yun Muye's hand, stood up, pursed his lips and smiled, pointing at Yun Muye who was injured in the brain on the bed,
"He is my husband."
"Ah?" The young nurse widened her eyes in surprise. "What a coincidence?"
Yun Muye sighed tiredly, "I'm single and don't have a wife."
Gu Zhinian turned his head to look at him, "No! You have a wife, not only a wife, you also have a son. I know you are injured and your brain is not working well. No matter what you say, I will not blame you!"
Gu Zhinian looked at him with tolerance, as if he was looking at an ignorant child, which made Yun Muye speechless.
"My brain isn't broken!"
"Since it's not broken, why don't you recognize your wife?" Gu Zhinian asked back.
Yun Muye: "..." I said I don’t have a wife, do you believe it?
Gu Zhinian sat on the stool, reached out and grabbed his hand, interlocking their fingers.
"You don't believe anything I say. Next time I go home I'll show you my marriage certificate and you'll know!"
Gu Zhinian suppressed his sadness, understanding that Yun Muye had a brain injury, and magnanimously did not argue with him.
Yun Muye was confused. Where did he get a wife? Didn’t he even know if he had one?
Seeing Gu Zhinian's confident look, Kang Xiaoming looked at Yun Muye hesitantly.
