"No need, just wear one of mine!" Ji Kangyong stopped Shen Yanming and said.
Shen Yanming rolled his eyes at Ji Kangyong. "The jacket is fine, right? Do you expect me to wear your pants?"
Upon hearing this, Ji Kangyong chuckled, "I don't mind, it's you?"
“I mind!” Shen Yanming laughed and pushed Ji Kangyong away, then went out to go home to change his clothes.
After Shen Yanming left, Ji Kangyong went back to his bedroom to change his clothes.
The moment Shen Yanming opened the door, Bi Qiaoan threw off the covers, got out of bed, ran over, hugged Shen Yanming, and asked, "Did you find out?"
"Well, but I need to go to the field to bring the chicken coop back. I'll tell you the details when I get back," Shen Yanming said with a smile.
"Oh, it's quite cold outside, but where are we going to put the chicken coop?"
"If we put the chickens in Ji Kangyong's house, there's a tray under the coop, so cleaning up the droppings is quite convenient. If we also ventilate the house frequently, there shouldn't be any problems."
Bi Qiaoan nodded after hearing this, "Then, how about you bring those two geese back?"
"Um?"
"Anyway, we still have cages at home, so we can keep those two geese separately. After winter, the goslings can be let out to roam around."
Shen Yanming thought about it and thought it would work. "Okay, I'll bring the two geese back with me when I come back."
“Okay, then I’ll go assemble a cage!” Bi Qiaoan said with a smile.
Shen Yanming nodded. "If you don't want to move, then wait until I get back to put on your costume."
"No need, it's not like it's strenuous work."
After Bi Qiaoan finished speaking, she went to the storage room, dragged out an unassembled chicken coop, thought for a moment, and put it in the room where the mushrooms were originally grown.
After Bi Qiaoan left, Shen Yanming took out thermal underwear and thermal pants from the wardrobe and put them on. Then he put on his outer clothes and trousers, and finally put on his raincoat and gloves. He then took the elevator down to the ninth floor.
Ji Kangyong was already waiting for him in the building. When the elevator doors opened, he smiled and walked in.
The two walked to Qingning Mountain because it was raining outside and the ice on the ground was a bit thicker, making it easy to slip while driving, so walking was a safer option.
It took Shen Yanming and Ji Kangyong one or two times longer than usual to finally reach their land.
Shen Yanming's gaze fell on the seedlings in the field. He frowned slightly and said, "I wonder if these wheat and vegetable seedlings will survive."
Ji Kangyong was also moved by the wilted seedlings, and after thinking for a moment, he said, "Let's cover them with a blanket!"
"Hmm?" Shen Yanming looked at Ji Kangyong, but missed his figure and instead saw the pile of corn stalks in the corner.
“Yes, just cover them lightly with a layer. It will keep them warm without crushing them,” Shen Yanming said.
Ji Kangyong nodded, and the two of them moved the corn stalks from the corner and laid them one by one on the vegetable and wheat seedlings.
It was two hours later when everything was laid out.
Looking at the fields that were no longer green, the two chuckled softly. "It's a good thing that Zhang Heping was lazy and didn't want to drag the corn stalks out to throw away, otherwise we would have been really in trouble today."
"That guy can be quite useful sometimes. What did he say back then? He said he was going to donate it to the Qinghe Alliance compost, right?"
"Yes, they're just being lazy and making excuses for themselves, otherwise they wouldn't have let them pile up here for so long."
"Haha, that kid did a good deed! It's getting late, let's carry the chicken coop home."
"become!"
Without saying anything more, the two of them each carried one side of the load and headed home.
By the time I got home and settled the chicken coop, it was already 10:30 p.m.
Ji Kangyong patted Shen Yanming on the shoulder through his raincoat, "Alright, I'll take care of the rest. You should go home and rest!"
“That won’t do. My daughter Qiao An asked me to take the two geese back to keep her entertained,” Shen Yanming said with a smile.
"Qiao An raises geese?" Ji Kangyong asked incredulously. "Didn't she dislike raising these kinds of things?"
"No, she's just too lazy to deal with the feces. I'll just change the tray more often from now on."
Seeing this, Ji Kangyong said no more, opened the skylight of the chicken coop, and let Shen Yanming reach out to catch the goose.
The geese are so fierce. Even though Shen Yanming has fed them so many times, they still don't respect their owner at all. They stretch their necks and peck at Shen Yanming's hands.
Luckily he dodged quickly, otherwise...
Shen Yanming finally managed to grab one of the geese by the neck, then clipped its wings behind its back and handed it to Ji Kangyong.
"Please help me, I can't catch it by myself."
Ji Kangyong nodded and took the squawking goose from Shen Yanming's hand.
Seeing that Ji Kangyong had a firm grip, Shen Yanming reached out and grabbed the second one.
"Wow, this guy's got real strength!" Even with both hands, Ji Kangyong had to be careful. The goose struggled fiercely, and it was easy to slip away if he wasn't careful.
Shen Yanming held the goose in one hand and quickly closed the chicken coop with the other. "Of course! There's a saying, 'Better to be bitten by a dog than twisted by a goose.' When geese get fierce, even a dog can't beat them!"
"Ha, if they were to understand human nature, they would be excellent at guarding the house!"
Shen Yanming smiled and said, "Yes, it was after hearing about this that Qiao An insisted on feeding these two geese."
Ji Kangyong was taken aback for a moment, then smiled, "Then I wish Qiao An success!"
Clearly, Ji Kangyong didn't believe Bi Qiaoan could do it, but Shen Yanming didn't care and took Ji Kangyong home.
When he opened the door, he found the house was dark; it seemed that it was too late and Qiao An was already asleep.
After turning on the lights and walking quietly, the two put the goose into the cage, and then Chi Kangyong mouthed, "I'm going home now."
Shen Yanming nodded and saw Ji Kangyong to the door. After he left, he went to the bathroom to change out of his raincoat, washed up, changed into his pajamas, and then went into the bedroom.
The dim light from the wall lamp in the bedroom illuminated Bi Qiaoan's sleeping face, adding a touch of hazy beauty to her appearance.
Shen Yanming tiptoed onto the bed, then reached out and pulled Bi Qiaoan into his arms.
"You're back?" Bi Qiaoan mumbled the moment she was hugged.
"Okay, go to sleep!" Shen Yanming gently patted Bi Qiaoan's back.
He knew that Bi Qiaoan was not awake at all; she was just used to Shen Yanming's embrace, which was why she spoke that way as a conditioned reflex.
However, after snuggling into Shen Yanming's arms, Bi Qiaoan slept more soundly, as if she were having a sweet dream, with a faint smile on her face.
When Ji Kangyong returned home, he felt a pang of sadness seeing the desolate room and the messy footprints.
Perhaps Shen Yanming is right; it's time to find a partner.
He changed out of his raincoat, washed up, and then cleaned up the footprints from the living room to the bedroom. By the time he finished cleaning, it was already past midnight.
It should have been a time for sound sleep, but my troubled mind couldn't find peace for a long time.
Then, he couldn't sleep...
