Li Gangtie was taken aback and asked, "What's the problem?"
"It's a problem with people and the environment!" Bi Qiaoan said. "You know, the same prescription can be ineffective. If it's not a problem with the herbs, then it can only be that the patient is not doing well."
Bi Qiaoan spoke as if it were the most logical thing in the world, without considering any theoretical basis. Yet, this rambling nonsense unexpectedly enlightened Li Gangtie.
He thought about it for a moment and realized that was indeed the case. Of course, he thought about it even more deeply.
Bi Qiaoan's words implicitly acknowledged that the medicinal effects of the herbs remained the same as before.
From a rigorous perspective, it's also possible that the plant itself has mutated, which is why the same formula isn't as effective.
Of course, if we can rule out plant-related factors, then it's a problem with the environment and the people themselves, as Joan said.
He did conduct comprehensive medical examinations on the guards who fainted from heatstroke, but their organ functions were normal, and they were no different from ordinary people.
However, people are fainting during training every day, and the number is increasing.
Therefore, it's hard to say whether the problem lies with the person.
As for the environment, it's obvious to everyone that it's abnormal, no one needs to mention it.
But no one knows what caused this abnormality or what consequences it will lead to.
So far, apart from the early sunrise and late sunset, we haven't noticed any other problems.
As for the temperature, it's around 33 degrees Celsius in the morning and around 37 degrees Celsius at noon. Although it has increased significantly compared to both the same period last year and the previous month, it's still acceptable.
Those guards trained year-round, enduring countless harsh winters and scorching summers. How could they be defeated in such ordinary temperatures?
It really is something I can't figure out!
Seeing his worried face, Bi Qiaoan comforted him: "Actually, you don't need to worry too much. Although many people suffer from heatstroke, they all pulled through, didn't they?"
Humans are naturally adaptable; who knows, maybe they'll get used to this environment after a while.
Li Gangtie nodded: "What you said makes sense."
Bi Qiaoan nodded: "You guys don't want to change the morning training time to the evening, isn't it to let everyone adapt to this change in environment? As long as no one dies, a few people fainting isn't a big problem."
Bi Qiaoan didn't think there was anything wrong with what he said, but Li Gangtie's eyes lit up after hearing it.
He asked, "Do you think it's possible that they were in air-conditioned environments during non-training hours, and were active in alternating hot and cold environments every day, and that they couldn't tolerate the high temperatures, which is why they fainted?"
Bi Qiaoan hadn't considered this possibility, but she nodded nonetheless: "It's possible, but it's just our guess."
Li Gangtie waved his hand, "It's alright. I'll start investigating once Shen Yanming gets back. If they usually have air conditioning in their dorms, fainting could really be due to not adapting to the environment."
Bi Qiaoan nodded and did not continue the discussion on this issue.
Li Gangtie, however, was somewhat excited. He paced back and forth, eager to run to the training ground and the medical team to verify the issue.
At this moment, Shen Yanming, who was entertaining the guards at home, had no idea that his wife's few words of nonsense had helped Li Gangtie find a major bug.
When he arrived at the dormitory building, he saw two clean-cut young soldiers standing straight at the entrance, carrying two cardboard boxes.
He stepped forward and asked, "Hello, are you Comrade Meng Tianming and Comrade Hu Dachong? I am Shen Yanming."
Meng Tianming smiled and nodded, saying, "I am Meng Tianming. Hello, Comrade Shen. Please forgive us for not being able to greet you properly because we are carrying things in our hands."
The greeting Meng Tianming mentioned was the courtesy exchanged between the guards. Shen Yanming, being new, wasn't used to such formalities, so he usually just nodded or shook hands when greeting people.
Shen Yanming laughed and said, "Not at all, I should thank you both for making this special trip."
He noticed fine beads of sweat on their foreheads and quickly asked, "Shall we go upstairs first?"
Meng Tianming and Hu Dachong exchanged a glance and nodded, saying, "Okay, we've been standing here for a while now, and our arms are getting sore."
Shen Yanming led the way and casually asked, "Why don't you put the boxes on the ground? It must be tiring to carry them like that."
Hu Dachong explained, "We usually lift heavy objects to practice our arm strength. These two boxes aren't very heavy, but the round trip is quite long, so we just carry them as a form of training."
There was actually another reason: they were afraid the other party would find fault with them, saying that the box was dirty.
Although the chances are slim, they've all heard that the other party has a powerful background, so it's best not to provoke them.
Sigh, rumors really do cause harm!
Shen Yanming was unaware of these things and simply assumed that what the other person said was the truth. He opened the door and invited the two of them in to sit down.
The two put the suitcase at the door and prepared to leave.
But Shen Yanming stopped them, saying, "You've gone to so much trouble to come all this way. Come in and sit for a while, so we can have a chat."
I don't know anyone here, and I'd like to hear you two tell me about this guard team."
Hearing what the host said, the two felt it inappropriate to leave immediately. They smiled, nodded, and sat down on the sofa.
Shen Yanming took half a watermelon out of the refrigerator, cut it into a plate in the kitchen, and brought it out. "Come on, have a taste. It's from my friend's own garden, and it's quite sweet."
The two men's eyes lit up when they saw the watermelon. Without being polite, they thanked the guard and started eating a slice, gossiping about the guard team as they ate.
Shen Yanming ate with them, then listened to the gossip, nodding and occasionally chiming in.
Both guards were very shrewd; they only ate one bite before waving their hands and saying they were full.
After chatting for a few more minutes, Meng Tianming and Hu Dachong got up to say goodbye.
Shen Yanming did not try to stop them. He saw them to the door and watched them go downstairs before closing the door.
He put the two boxes of milk powder into his spatial storage, and took the remaining watermelon back to the office building.
When he knocked on the door of the lounge, he heard Li Gangtie excitedly say, "You're finally back! Your wife is perfectly fine, I've returned her to you intact. Well, I'll be going now, I'll come back to talk to you guys later."
As Li Gangtie spoke, he grabbed two medicine packets and prepared to leave.
Shen Yanming didn't know what was going on. He glanced at Bi Qiaoan with a puzzled look, but seeing her smiling sweetly, he didn't think much of it.
He handed one of the lunchboxes to Li Gangtie and said, "Xigua, you can take this home and eat it. Just return it to me sometime."
Li Gangtie didn't ask where it came from. He took it, thanked him, and left.
Afterwards, Bi Qiaoan recounted her conversation with Li Gangtie before saying, "I don't know if I'm right or wrong, but we just kept talking and that's how it went."
Shen Yanming nodded, "It's alright, you have a point. Let him go back and investigate, and he'll know everything."
