Chapter 510 Stinging

Before they knew it, the holiday was coming to an end. After being woken up by his alarm clock, Shen Yanming told Qiao An and left the space.

He didn't let his wife come with him, since the temperature inside was more comfortable. It was stuffy and humid outside, and they couldn't turn on the air conditioning. Even if the adults could stand it, the two babies would probably have a hard time.

Moreover, within the space, Joan can manipulate objects with her mind, making it easier to take care of the baby.

After leaving the storage area, Shen Yanming went to the bathroom to wash his face and brush his teeth, tidied himself up, changed into his training clothes, and went to the playground.

These past two days, because of the overcast skies, there have been more people on the playground than usual. Although the outdoor temperature isn't low, the lack of scorching sunlight has encouraged everyone to come out and move around.

Many people who had become acquainted with Shen Yanming approached him to inquire about his well-being upon seeing him finally arrive for training. Upon learning that he had become a father, they showered him with congratulatory messages.

Seeing this, Li Gangtie felt a little envious but didn't interrupt. He waited until they had finished talking before starting today's training.

Because he had wasted a week, Shen Yanming's progress had fallen behind, and he was struggling to keep up with many projects. However, he was not discouraged and quickly adjusted his mindset, striving to recover as soon as possible.

Because of his personal relationship with Shen Yanming, Comrade Lao Li paid more attention to this place.

Although it's said that favoritism shouldn't be shown on the surface, anyone with a sharp mind could tell from the few words spoken and the few corrective actions that they were giving Shen Yanming extra lessons.

Old Shen was so grateful that he wanted to rush over, hug him, bow, and say thank you. However, due to morning training, he could only give him a knowing look.

Li Gangtie suppressed a laugh, glared at him, then turned his head away, avoiding eye contact.

Shen Yanming wasn't angry. He smiled and continued training.

Time always flies so fast. It feels like I just warmed up my muscles and bones, and now the morning training is over.

After Li Gangtie shouted "Dismissed!", everyone scattered in a flurry.

However, before they had run a few steps, beams of golden light descended from the sky and shone on everyone.

Is the sun out?

Shen Yanming squinted at the sky and saw something glittering with gold squeezed out from the thick clouds.

The light was so dazzling that he felt a stinging pain in his eyes after staring at it for less than two seconds. He quickly closed his eyes and lowered his head, but tears still streamed uncontrollably from the corners of his eyes.

Shen Yanming hadn't expected the sun, which had just cleared up, to be so powerful, and he secretly regretted his overconfidence.

What if I accidentally go blind? Wouldn't I regret it for the rest of my life? Thinking about what I just did, it was really stupid!

So, Comrade Shen made a quick decision and squinted his eyes to observe the situation outside.

He ignored the group of people who were still standing there laughing and cheering, and ran past them towards the handwashing basins on the outer edge of the playground.

However, the more he ran, the heavier his heart became. All he could see were blue-green lights and shadows.

He knew that without protective measures, the eyes could easily be burned by strong light. However, being blinded by the sun for a moment should be recoverable. But after running such a long distance, he felt no relief.

Of course, it could also be a psychological issue; he's afraid of the worst-case scenario happening.

All Shen Yanming could hear was the sound of the wind and cheers of "Finally, the sun is shining!" He paid no attention to them, silently turning on the tap. His hands, once in the cool water, were scrubbing rapidly.

The water quickly turned brownish-gray upon contact with his hands, revealing just how much dirt and grime covered them.

However, Shen Yanming couldn't see it because, until now, all he could see was a blue-green light and shadow.

I don't know if it's just my imagination, but I always feel like my eyes are recovering very slowly.

There was nothing he could do but wash his hands a little longer. He figured that if he scrubbed them a bit more, they'd get clean eventually.

Shen Yanming not only washed his palms and the backs of his hands clean, but he also rubbed each of his fingers and the crevices under his nails.

Feeling that it was about time, he scooped up a handful of water with both hands and splashed it on his face, then rubbed it with his fingers.

Next, I placed my two index fingers on my eyelashes and took out a little bit of spiritual spring water from my space, letting it flow from my fingertips into my eyes.

In this critical moment, Shen Yanming had no choice but to use the spiritual spring water as eye drops. Fortunately, the spiritual spring water did not disappoint him; after it entered his eyes, the stinging sensation was greatly reduced.

Then, as more and more spiritual spring water dripped in, the stinging sensation disappeared, and he could see this colorful world again.

Shen Yanming couldn't say for sure whether the spiritual spring water had a healing effect or simply accelerated the recovery of his eyes.

Whether it's the former or the latter, as long as the result is good, that's fine.

After all, he was timid and dared not let his body suffer any accidents.

Shen Yanming was even planning to put his index finger in his mouth and drink some of the spiritual spring water. But before he could do it, someone patted him on the shoulder.

He was so startled that he almost screamed. As if caught doing something wrong, he reflexively put his hands behind his back.

Seeing that it was Li Gangtie who had come, he was extremely glad that he had been a step too slow. Otherwise, how embarrassing would it have been if Li had seen him sucking his fingers?

Shen Yanming composed himself and asked, "Captain Li, what's wrong?"

Li Gangtie originally wanted to ask him what was wrong, but seeing his strong reaction, he didn't know how to start the conversation.

But staying silent wasn't an option, so he scratched his buzz cut and raised his chin. "Are you alright?"

Shen Yanming felt a warmth in his heart and recounted what had just happened. Li Gangtie, hearing that it wasn't a big deal, accompanied him back to the dormitory.

On the way, Li Gangtie scolded Shen Yanming: "How old are you? You're still so reckless. I think you're getting worse as you get older. If you dare to do this again, you might suffer the consequences someday."

Shen Yanming listened to the reprimand without saying a word. He didn't really know what had gotten into him; his first instinct was to look up at the sun. Looking back now, he was truly terrified.

Seeing his silence, Li Gangtie also fell silent.

Even though these are his team members, he's still a mature man and can't scold them like he's a son. After all, who doesn't have pride?

The two said goodbye at the bottom of the building.

Shen Yanming opened the door and, seeing that the room was quiet, slipped into the space.

He went to the master bedroom of the mobile villa to check on Bi Qiaoan and the two little ones. Seeing that they were sleeping soundly, he didn't disturb them.

He took a shower and changed into clean clothes. When he came out, he found Bi Qiaoan leaning against the wall, still sleepy-eyed, waiting for him.

He was startled and quickly asked, "Honey, why are you up? Did I wake you up, or do you need to go to the bathroom?"

Bi Qiaoan's voice was soft and sweet, "I woke up and didn't see you, so I came to check on you when I heard your voice!"

Shen Yanming was touched. He went over and hugged his wife, then helped her back to bed, saying, "It's okay, I'm here!"
