Seeing that it was almost time, Shen Yanming and Bi Qiaoan quickly left the space, rested briefly, and then headed to Qingning Mountain with their equipment.
Upon arriving at Qingning Mountain, Bi Qiaoan noticed something different. The usually bare ground was now covered with a dense cluster of mushrooms. Bi Qiaoan took a look with a waterproof flashlight and confirmed that they were indeed the shiitake and oyster mushrooms she had planted the day before.
Bi Qiaoan was somewhat shocked. How could it grow so fast? It seems that the energy in the rainwater is like a nutrient for plants.
Bi Qiaoan thought for a moment, picked a dozen or so shiitake mushrooms and had Shen Yanming put them into his spatial storage, then sat down on a small stool to receive the sweet rain.
This time, Bi Qiaoan closed her eyes and carefully sensed the changes in space.
Bi Qiaoan felt the white mist churning, retreating, and thinning, making the shadows behind it clearer, yet still not revealing their true forms. However, Bi Qiaoan did see that the newly expanded space was indeed planted with small grasses.
Bi Qiaoan withdrew her consciousness from the space, closed her eyes and felt the world in the rain. Hmm, this is the sound of rain falling on the leaves, that is the sound of rain falling on the ground, and there is another sound, that is the sound of rain falling into the water.
Gradually, Bi Qiaoan felt she was hallucinating. She could see everything around her: the shiitake and oyster mushrooms were growing, the grass was growing taller, and suddenly, everything seemed to freeze...
Bi Qiaoan frowned slightly, trying to figure out why the raindrops were hanging in the air and wouldn't fall. She looked around and found that everything around her was still, except for Shen Yanming beside her.
Shen Yanming was originally looking at Bi Qiaoan, who had her eyes closed and head tilted back, but as he looked, he became so engrossed that it was as if only the person in front of him remained in his surroundings.
Neither of them noticed that while they were completely immersed in their own world, invisible energy surged wildly into their bodies.
Much later, Shen Yanming looked at Bi Qiaoan's furrowed brows and couldn't help but raise his hand, wanting to gently smooth out those furrowed brows.
Bi Qiaoan opened her eyes the moment Shen Yanming touched her, and Shen Yanming also came to his senses at the same time. Everything returned to normal. The rain was still falling, but it had no energy left.
Both of them thought that what had just happened was an illusion, so they didn't think much of it and just packed up to go home.
Before leaving, Bi Qiaoan picked a dozen more shiitake mushrooms and asked Shen Yanming to put them into his spatial storage, separating them from the ones he had collected when he first arrived.
After returning home, Shen Yanming and Bi Qiaoan took a hot shower and went to bed, not getting up until 9:30 the next day.
Logically speaking, this kind of life of staying up all night and having their days and nights reversed should have made the two of them look haggard, but with the nourishment of the energy rain, the two of them had rosy complexions and were extremely healthy.
After Bi Qiaoan got up, she asked Shen Yanming to take out the two piles of shiitake mushrooms and made shiitake mushroom and bok choy using the same method.
Bi Qiaoan called Shen Yanming over to try it and see if there was any difference.
Shen Yanming picked up his chopsticks and took a couple of bites before saying, "They're all delicious, and they seem to have some kind of energy in them; they warm your whole body after eating them. However, I think this plate of shiitake mushrooms tastes even better; it seems to have more energy."
Bi Qiaoan also picked up her chopsticks and tasted them one by one. "Hmm, this one does have more energy. This plate contains shiitake mushrooms that have been rained on twice. It seems that, like us, the more rain they get, the greater the benefits."
“Only you would compare shiitake mushrooms to yourself.” Shen Yanming was amused by Bi Qiaoan’s words. “These past two days we’ve been picking some before and after the rain to see if there’s a limit to how much energy they can accumulate.”
Bi Qiaoan nodded, "I don't know if this rainwater is safe to drink directly."
Shen Yanming felt that as long as the space was exposed to rain every day, it would return to peace and level up, so he said, "We should be able to just let it rain, but let's collect them first, they might be useful in the future."
"Um!"
Bi Qiaoan turned around and went back to the kitchen, where she stir-fried some scrambled eggs with tomatoes and shredded pork with bean sprouts, and steamed a few buns. "Let's have lunch early today, we still have things to do this afternoon!"
Shen Yanming smiled as he brought the prepared dishes to the dining room, and the two of them enjoyed a delicious meal. It was only just past midnight when they finished eating.
Shen Yanming told Bi Qiaoan to rest at home while he went out to run errands. Before Shen Yanming left, Bi Qiaoan asked him to bring out more than ten kilograms of pork belly and dozens of lunch boxes.
Shen Yanming sighed, "If only you could directly access the supplies in the storage space!"
After Shen Yanming left, Bi Qiaoan rested for half an hour before starting to make braised pork. Now, water, electricity, and gas are all readily available, so she made as much food as possible and stored it away for later use when things weren't convenient.
Shen Yanming, however, went to the real estate agency first.
Originally, due to global rain, people were staying home less, and real estate agencies were practically deserted. However, in the last two weeks, their business has picked up again, mainly with residents from the suburbs or villagers from low-lying villages coming to rent apartments.
Shen Yanming pulled a man with a buzz cut aside, and before he could speak, the man started rambling on, "Sir, housing is very tight lately. Because of the rain, rents have increased significantly. Do you still want to rent?"
Shen Yanming was taken aback at first, but after hearing what the man with the crew cut said, he laughed, "I want to rent a bungalow, the kind with a yard, do you have any?"
Before the man with the crew cut could speak, an older woman chimed in, "Yes, my house is a single-story building. Do you want to rent it? In this day and age, does anyone still want to live in a single-story house?"
Does it have a yard?
“Yes, my yard is quite big, over fifty square meters, but the living conditions aren’t great. The walls are covered in moss and it’s very damp! Here, I have some photos on my phone, take a look.” As she spoke, the woman took out her phone to show Shen Yanming her house.
"If you rent out the house, where will you and your family live?"
"I've been staying with relatives lately, so I came over to ask if there are any apartments available for rent. It's not a good idea to keep staying at other people's houses. Young man, why do you need to rent a bungalow?"
"Raising fish..." Shen Yanming thought for a moment and added, "In the yard!"
After hearing this, the older woman didn't ask any more questions. She pulled the man with the crew cut aside and helped him complete the formalities.
Shen Yanming took the address and keys given to him by the old woman and drove to the house. Sure enough, the interior walls were covered with dense black mold, and there was moss in the corners, making it look rather frightening.
After observing the situation and finding nothing seriously wrong, Shen Yanming turned and left the yard, taking out all the plastic storage boxes from the trunk. These boxes were prepared by Shen Yanming before he left, and they contained mushroom bags.
After placing the mushroom bags one by one in the yard, Shen Yanming left and drove to the printing factory.
The printing factory was deserted and on the verge of closing down; there were hardly any workers left.
Shen Yanming approached the boss and directly ordered 10,000 five-layer corrugated cardboard boxes measuring 70cm*50cm*50cm.
