Bi Qiaoan understood his meaning and didn't stop him. She simply set out the food and called Shen Yanming to eat.
Shen Yanming wasn't in a hurry to know the result, so he let the goose wander around on its own before returning to the mobile villa.
A simple braised chicken with potatoes was incredibly satisfying.
After we finish eating, we will continue to observe the goslings.
But just observing won't reveal anything. Shen Yanming's eyes lit up, and he decided to take the goose up the mountain.
Bi Qiaoan was surprised by this decision. However, she didn't stop it, since it was still uncertain whether the goose could even go up.
Even if it learns some secrets, a goose cannot speak, so why would we be afraid of it telling others?
It's not like I'm the God of Goose!
The goose didn't know what its owner wanted it to do, but it just happily followed along.
When it saw the mountain peak ahead, it chickened out.
Because I was playing around, I climbed up there. But I was exhausted before I even got halfway up the mountain.
Finally, it rolled down.
But under the earnest gaze of its male owner, it still chose to challenge itself. It just doesn't know if it will succeed.
cough!
Shen Yanming walked ahead, with the little goose chasing after him. To accommodate the little goose's short legs, Shen Yanming deliberately slowed his pace.
Finally, seeing that it was too tired to walk any further, I simply picked it up, put it in a bamboo basket, and carried it on my back.
The goose was so touched, its eyes were filled with tears. It didn't know how to repay its master!
When the man and the goose arrived at the fruit orchard on the mountain, the goose was stunned.
Because everything in front of me is different from what I saw down the mountain.
It was curious and wanted to explore, but out of fear, it only dared to stay by its owner's side.
Even so, it's incredibly comfortable.
For some reason, ever since it went up the mountain, it felt completely comfortable, as if it had reached the pinnacle of its life.
The goose secretly thought that it would sneak up the mountain on its own later.
Then we found this strawberry patch and stole all the red berries, hahaha!
Actually, it was overthinking things. Because when it finally put its plan into action, it discovered that it couldn't reach the top of the mountain at all.
Just like going to the lady of the house's villa, there was an invisible barrier blocking it.
Shen Yanming had no idea what the goose was thinking; he only heard it honking. Turning around, he saw a goose grinning, looking strangely odd.
He slapped the goose on the head. Of course, the movement looked fierce, but it was actually quite gentle.
He said, "What are you standing there for? Come and help!"
"Quack?" The goose tilted its head, as if asking, "Master, what do you need my help with?"
Shen Yanming gave a demonstration: "Look, this red berry, bite it from here, and then gently put it into the bamboo basket. Got it?"
The goose nodded and then started trying. Well, it chewed up two out of three.
Shen Yanming was so angry he wanted to pluck it bald!
The goose seemed to sense the male owner's resentment, and dared not dawdle any longer. It licked the strawberry juice near its mouth and started working seriously.
Perhaps it's a matter of practice makes perfect; after biting open two strawberries in a row, it was able to put the whole strawberry into the bamboo basket.
And they even know to arrange them one by one.
Shen Yanming's eyes flashed, and he felt that his eldest son seemed to have become smarter.
I collected the strawberries that it had bitten, deciding to feed them to it again at a later opportunity.
It wasn't that he was reluctant to feed it now, but rather that he needed to observe the gosling's intellectual development.
As long as the child reaches the intellectual level of a three- to five-year-old, that's fine; at most, it's six or seven years old.
We absolutely cannot allow ourselves to become like those "goose people" (people from the Goose Planet), who knows when they might rise to power again.
Shen Yanming realized he was overthinking things. Could the goose really rebel in the space?
If there were any signs of that, my wife would definitely kill it immediately.
But once we get back, we really need to put some effort into it. Ideally, we should make a documentary about it, titled "A Day in the Life of a Wise Goose."
Shen Yanming applauded his own idea and then quickened his pace in picking strawberries.
As for grapes, watermelons, and passion fruit, apart from grapes which have green, rice-grain-sized fruits, the other two are still in the climbing stage.
I didn't see the squirrel this time. I don't know if it wasn't there or if it saw some unfamiliar animal and hid.
Shen Yanming left half of the strawberries for the little squirrel, and then took the goose down the mountain.
When we came down the mountain, the goose lost the privilege of "hitchhiking" because it had things in its bamboo basket.
It squawked to express its dissatisfaction, but dared not cause too much trouble.
It was afraid that its male owner would kick it, causing it to roll all the way down from the mountaintop to the bottom.
You should know that the feeling of rolling down last time still makes it incredibly sour and unpleasant.
Before long, the man and the goose returned to the planting area.
Shen Yanming left the goose on the grassland and returned to his mobile villa alone.
He found his wife taking a nap, but he didn't make a fuss. He went into the kitchen alone to make strawberry jam.
But it's not enough to just have the magical strawberry; you have to use a lot of ordinary strawberries as a topping.
With a thought, Shen Yanming retrieved two baskets of strawberries from the storage area, washed them clean, and laid them out to dry.
Only after all the water droplets on their surface have evaporated should they be cut in half.
Place it in a stainless steel bowl, sprinkle with white sugar, add a dozen or so fresh strawberries, stir well, cover with plastic wrap, and marinate in the refrigerator for a day and a night.
That's it, the preliminary work is done. Just take it out at this time tomorrow and stir-fry it over low heat.
That puts one worry to rest.
After cleaning up the kitchen, Shen Yanming happily went back to his bedroom to sleep.
Because I was worried about something going wrong, I specifically slept in the guest room.
The pillowcases, sheets, and duvet covers that he had soiled were all taken off and soaked in the spiritual spring water. He would wash them by hand after he woke up.
There's no other way; I'm unsure of their safety, so I don't dare to damage the washing machine.
Okay, the most important thing now is to sleep, otherwise I won't have any energy for work tonight.
Shen Yanming closed his eyes and fell asleep almost immediately...
That evening, everyone was particularly energetic at work.
Perhaps because they had already gained experience from being night owls for the past few days, they all came over after getting enough sleep.
Shen Yanming was no exception, processing data with great enthusiasm, working at 1.2 times the usual efficiency.
As dawn approaches, I look at the work in my hands and estimate that it will take another two or three hours to finish.
He stretched, raised his arms, said goodbye to Guo Tingshuo, and left.
Others followed suit.
Although I slept before going to work, I was still a bit tired after these tense and busy hours, and I needed to go home to relax.
Guo Tingshuo walked last, turned off the lights and closed the door before leaving the office building.
There are still many people working in the building; those who finish work so early are a minority.
"Go back and get some rest. Just one more night of hard work, and we'll be free!"
