The next day, the family slept until late morning. After getting themselves ready, they went to say goodbye to Yan Qiumin.
"Sister Yan, we're going home now. Thank you so much for your hospitality these past two days."
Yan Qiumin held Bi Qiaoan's arm, somewhat reluctantly: "I won't keep you here. Just come and visit again when you have the chance."
Bi Qiaoan nodded. "I put a packet of seeds in the room where we live. If you have the chance, you can try planting them."
Yan Qiumin was somewhat surprised: "Seeds? I have them at home!"
Bi Qiaoan smiled and said, "Yes, it's a high-yield variety that we bought from abroad when times were better. The yield has been quite good in the last two years since we started growing it ourselves. You can give it a try."
Yan Qiumin smiled broadly: "Really? Thank you so much." Perhaps because they had gotten along so well, she didn't think much about why Bi Qiaoan would bring seeds with her on her trip.
After the family got into the car, Yan Qiumin waved and said, "Drive carefully, see you again sometime."
"Okay, sis, see you again sometime."
Shen Yanming slowly started the car, and they drove away from this small coastal village.
Next, they headed towards Haishi. Along the way, they passed through many cities, stopping briefly with their two children to let them experience the scenery of different places.
When passing through the countryside, they would also stop for picnics and camping, or secretly sow seeds.
Time flies, and after two weeks away, the family finally returned to the guard unit.
Shen Yanming went to Guo Tingshuo to report back from his leave, laden with a bountiful harvest. When he placed the bag full of dried fish and dried mushrooms on the table, everyone was stunned.
"Old Shen, where have you been going on a crazy adventure? You're being so nice!"
Shen Yanming said with a smile, "I went to many places and traded with the locals."
"Are all these gifts for us?" Miao Yifeng asked.
Shen Yanming nodded, "Not much, just enough for everyone to have a pound or two."
"That's already pretty good!" Meng Wu smiled and picked up a serving. "It's really good!"
Shen Yanming smiled and said, "Then you can divide it yourselves. I'll head back now."
"Yeah, go back and get some sleep, you have to go back to work tomorrow. It's the end of the month, so it'll be very busy," Liang Yi said with a smile.
Shen Yanming waved his hand and left.
Back home, after packing their luggage with Bi Qiaoan, they took An'an and Nuannuan into the space.
Breathing in the fresh air, the whole family was excited. The two babies let go of their parents' hands and went to pick fruit in the orchard. The goose followed closely behind, dutifully playing the role of "big brother."
Shen Yanming squeezed Bi Qiaoan's hand: "Let them play here, let's go back and wash up first."
Bi Qiaoan hesitated for a moment, but still went along with Shen Yanming's wishes. The entire space was under her surveillance, so she wasn't worried about anything happening to the two children.
The two of them took a good shower in the bathroom and washed all the dirty clothes, sheets and blankets that had accumulated over the past few days before the big goose came back with the two dirty babies.
As soon as they entered the living room, they pounced on the couple, leaving two handprints on Shen Yanming and Bi Qiaoan's newly changed pajamas.
Bi Qiaoan was furious, but An'an smiled sweetly and said, "Mom, I picked strawberries!"
In her tiny hands were a few bright red fruits, but they had been crushed and ruined, losing their original beauty.
Looking at their bright smiles and expectant eyes, Bi Qiaoan couldn't bring herself to lose her temper anymore. She could only take the pills, wash them with water, and feed one to each of the four family members. Then she solemnly thanked the two children.
An'an and Nuannuan blushed slightly and said shyly, "You're welcome!"
Bi Qiaoan gave Shen Yanming a wink, signaling him to give the two children a bath. Old Shen cooperated readily, holding one in each hand and leading them to the bathroom to play in the water.
Listening to the laughter of the three of them, Bi Qiaoan shook her head helplessly, walked outside the villa, and used her consciousness to harvest the ripe grains and fruits, as well as the small animals that were showing signs of overpopulation.
She had just finished harvesting a batch of crops and felt that the grassland and fishpond were much emptier. Then she noticed that many animals that were not in the space before were walking towards the transparent light screen.
“This is… something Shen Yanming collected outside!” Bi Qiaoan murmured as she walked towards the transparent light screen.
One by one, some drowsy animals were thrown out. After touching the ground, they soon got up, shaking their heads, and looked around. Seeing that there was no danger, they followed the scent of other animals to the grassland.
Bi Qiaoan raised an eyebrow, walked directly through the transparent light screen, and found the place where the animals were placed. She squatted down to observe them carefully and saw that the chests of these still-living animals were rising and falling slightly, but they were unconscious and unable to move.
Having gained some understanding, Bi Qiaoan returned to the planting area. Shen Yanming resumed his actions after a pause, but Bi Qiaoan, finding the little guys too slow, used her consciousness to drive them onto the grassland.
Take the opportunity to harvest another batch of rabbits and chickens to make room for these new friends.
Feeling that she had dealt with the situation fairly well, she returned to the mobile villa, only to find Shen Yanming already sitting on the sofa with the two children, having dinner.
"We've been tired these past few days, let's rest well tonight and not cook," Shen Yanming said, handing Bi Qiaoan a plate of small cakes.
Bi Qiaoan shook her head. "I'll go wash my hands first."
"Hmm, what else would you like to eat? I'll get it for you."
Bi Qiaoan glanced at the food on the coffee table and thought it was to her liking, so she said, "That's fine, that'll do. Or, could you get me a bottle of yogurt or pour me a glass of red wine?"
Shen Yanming raised an eyebrow, reached into the storage area, took a bottle of red wine, and poured a glass for his wife.
It's about 70% full, which is quite a lot.
So, Bi Qiaoan was stunned when she came out of the bathroom and saw it. She thought her husband would at most bring her a carton of yogurt, but she never expected such a surprise.
Little did she know, they were waiting to get the sheep drunk so they could start eating it.
Bi Qiaoan sat down next to Shen Yanming and took a deep sniff. "It smells so good. Why are you being so generous today?"
Shen Yanming wasn't guilty at all: "I just wanted to reward you for your hard work."
Bi Qiaoan took a small sip, looking quite pleased: "You know that's good."
An'an and Nuannuan looked at the liquid in their mother's cup, which was clearly a different color, and felt a little tempted to drink it.
After staring at her father for a long time and seeing that he didn't say anything, she hugged Bi Qiaoan's arm and said sweetly, "Mom, have a taste!"
Bi Qiaoan didn't hesitate and shouted, "Honey, quickly give our baby some Happy Fat Boy Water!"
Shen Yanming suppressed a laugh, but still took out a bottle of cola from the storage area and poured the bottom of a glass for the two children: "You two are still young, so you can only drink this much. If you like it, Dad will pour you more next time."
The two children nodded obediently and eagerly brought the cups to their lips. As the bubbly liquid entered their mouths, they felt as if little people were dancing on their tongues.
This experience was quite magical.
