It hurts, it hurts so much. My head feels dizzy and I'm about to faint. I'm surrounded by salty seawater, and a feeling of suffocation washes over me.
Bi Qiaoan struggled instinctively, but the "thing" she was holding tightly brought her back to reality.
Bi Qiaoan was shocked and bit her tongue hard to wake herself up. She struggled to open her eyes and found that An'an had already fainted.
Bi Qiaoan panicked and, not daring to delay, sent An'an into the space. She wanted to go in too, but the struggles and cries for help around her made her temporarily give up on doing so.
There were many people around, and Bi Qiaoan was swept to the surface of the sea by the surging waves. She took the opportunity to breathe deeply, and with a swift movement, pulled out a doll that resembled An'an from her spatial storage and hugged it to her arms.
Then, she spared a moment to check on her own baby. She saw that he had calmed down but was coughing violently.
Bi Qiaoan gently patted his back with her mind, filled a bottle with spiritual spring water, and put it into An'an's hand.
She tried to speak to him, saying, "Baby, don't be afraid. Stay inside and wait for Mommy to come out." Bi Qiaoan didn't know if An'an could hear her, but she did this because she was worried he would be scared.
Sure enough, still a little panicked, An'an nodded and sat down on the floor, clutching his milk bottle. Bi Qiao'an placed clean clothes beside him and told him to change himself. Worried that he might be scared, she also brought over the goose to keep him company.
Bi Qiaoan drifted forward with the waves, struggling to stay afloat. She wasn't too panicked, knowing she could return to Shen Yanming's side through the spatial dimension. She wasn't doing so now simply to avoid arousing suspicion.
Actually, she was overthinking things, because everyone around her was almost swallowed by the sea, so no one had the mind to pay attention to others. The lucky ones could float to the surface by clinging to rotten logs or something in the water, while the unlucky ones lost consciousness the moment the waves crashed over them.
Bi Qiaoan focused half her attention on the space, and the other half on Shen Yanming and Nuannuan.
She was a little worried, wondering how her husband and daughter were doing.
She only dared to risk sending An'an into her spatial dimension because everyone on her side was a stranger. But on Shen Yanming's side, everyone was an acquaintance; she wondered if her husband could handle it.
well!
Bi Qiaoan wasn't paying attention and was hit on the head by a piece of wood in the waves. She hissed, her vision went black, and she fainted.
She was quick-witted enough that after sending An'an into the space, she grabbed a life jacket and hastily put it on...
Shen Yanming's situation was not good; he watched helplessly as a wave swept Bi Qiaoan away.
He wanted to chase after her, but with Nuannuan in his arms, he was pushed in another direction by the crowd. All he could do was shout at the top of his lungs, "Wife!"
But Bi Qiaoan couldn't hear her at all.
Upon seeing this, Ji Kangyong shouted, "Old Shen, I'll go after them!" and squeezed his way towards the direction where Bi Qiaoan had been swept away.
Shen Yanming's "No need" got stuck in his throat because the seawater poured down and washed him away.
Nuannuan was tightly protected by Shen Yanming, terrified. Shen Yanming had no chance to comfort his daughter, and could only adjust himself with the force of the seawater.
He remained afloat, holding his daughter tightly, fearing for her safety. This was all thanks to the training he had received in the spatial pond; however, the difficulty of navigating the turbulent sea was on a completely different level compared to the calm, still pond.
Shen Yanming simply drifted along with the current. He glanced around and saw that many people were unconscious, floating with the seawater.
The few she knew were alright, barely managing to keep breathing by doggy-paddling. However, Xu Yajing looked pained, and the seawater around her had turned red.
Shen Yanming wanted to help, but he was powerless to do so. Zhang Heping saw the door panel floating towards him, grabbed it with a forceful pull, and then, using all his strength, flipped it over.
He breathed a sigh of relief the moment he was out of the water. But he immediately realized that he was floating much faster on the plank than in the water.
Zhang Heping panicked and tried to jump back into the sea. It was Shen Yanming who saw this and shouted, "Get Ya Jing up!"
Zhang Heping: "...Oh, I'll try my best!"
After finally locating Li Zhaozhao and Xu Yajing, Zhang Heping tried several times, but couldn't reach them. Fortunately, everyone was swept in the same direction, so they would eventually meet.
Zhang Heping also saw the red rising from the seawater. He was extremely anxious and shouted to the Li couple, "Swim over here, swim over here!"
But Li Zhaozhao and Xu Yajing couldn't hear anything. The couple were hugging each other, and every now and then the seawater would wash over them, so they couldn't hear any other sounds.
Zhang Heping had no choice but to give up, quietly lying on the door panel, awaiting his fate.
Some who were still conscious saw Zhang Heping's condition and began scavenging for anything usable in the sea. However, not everyone was so lucky as to grab onto floating pieces of wood or plastic. More often, they cut their fingers on metal or glass.
For example, Shen Yanming didn't even try to grab anything in the sea, but he still got his leg cut by a piece of drifting glass. It hurt a little, but he had to bear it.
Sigh, it's really not easy!
I don't know how long it drifted before the waves gradually subsided. The seawater lay there quietly, as if the everything that had just swept through was just an illusion.
Zhang Heping was finally able to row his "boat" to Li Zhaozhao's side. Xu Yajing was covered in cold sweat, completely unable to float, and was entirely supported by Li Zhaozhao. Li Zhaozhao, too, was on the verge of collapse. He was frantic because his parents were missing.
Zhang Heping struggled to row over to them. Li Zhaozhao, as if seeing a savior, shouted in a hoarse voice, "Heping, over here! Ya Jing's stomach is upset!" As he spoke, he burst into tears.
Zhang Heping didn't know how to comfort her, so he jumped into the water and said to Li Zhaozhao, "Let Ya Jing lie on the surface first, she can't touch the cold water anymore."
Li Zhaozhao nodded: "Yes, yes, Ya Jing, hurry up and go up. You can't stay in the water for too long."
Xu Yajing was too weak to speak. She tried her best to climb up, but she couldn't. It was only with the help of the surrounding survivors that she was able to be dragged onto the wooden plank.
Once she was out of the sea and lying on a floating plank, Xu Yajing felt like she had escaped death. However, the pain in her stomach became even more intense.
"The child...it can't be saved..." she cried.
Li Zhaozhao was also very sad, but he still forced himself to be cheerful: "It's okay, we can have more children."
Xu Yajing closed her eyes and remained silent. She regretted it now. She regretted keeping him; even after taking so many pregnancy-preserving medications, it still couldn't withstand this violent natural disaster.
Zhang Heping was also saddened, but looking around at the boundless sea and the survivors and victims floating on its surface, he didn't know whether he should be grateful that they were still alive.
