After cleaning themselves up, the two left the bathroom.
Shen Yanming helped Bi Qiaoan apply the medicine. Thanks to the blessing of the spiritual spring water, the dark circles faded considerably after the ointment was rubbed onto her skin for a short time.
"Eating some strawberries or grapes will help you recover faster!"
Bi Qiaoan nodded, picked a fruit from the fruit plate, and brought it to Shen Yanming's lips: "You eat some too!"
Shen Yanming chuckled and took a bite. He thoroughly enjoyed his wife feeding him, and even wanted to give her a kiss. Unfortunately, the current position wasn't quite right.
He stretched out Bi Qiaoan's thigh, scooped out some ointment, spread it out, and continued to rub it.
Bi Qiaoan felt that it was enough; her arms and legs didn't hurt so much anymore, so she said, "Okay, okay, hurry up and treat yourself." Otherwise, the wounds will heal soon.
Shen Yanming looked at the faint blue mark under his palm and nodded. He crossed his legs and raised an eyebrow at his neatly healed wound.
He flipped his hand and took out a first-aid kit from the storage area, from which he retrieved tweezers, alcohol, and disinfectant cotton. He first opened up the wound to examine it, and to his surprise, there was a piece of broken glass inside.
"Oh my god, thank goodness we found it, otherwise what would have happened if it had grown into the flesh?"
Shen Yanming was also glad that his wife had reminded him, otherwise he might have really gotten away with it.
"Check again to see if there's anything else."
Shen Yanming nodded and examined the wound carefully. Sure enough, he found a tiny nematode in it.
It was about the thickness of cotton thread used for mending clothes, about a centimeter long, and very inconspicuous. If it were still, you might not even notice it. But it moved, and Shen Yanming quickly used tweezers to pick it up.
"I wonder if it's a parasite, that it managed to get into the wound. No wonder I felt something tearing at the wound in the sea." Shen Yanming couldn't help but feel relieved that his wife didn't have any wounds. Otherwise, if these little creatures had gotten inside, it would have been troublesome.
"Nuan Nuan, Nuan Nuan has injuries. Could these be inside the wounds too?" Bi Qiaoan hadn't looked closely earlier, so she was a little anxious now.
"Don't worry, let's go check again in a bit. Nuannuan's wounds are small, she should be fine." Shen Yanming wasn't sure either, but he tried his best to reassure his wife.
"Okay, take care of your wound first, then we'll go."
Shen Yanming checked the wound several more times to make sure there were no more nematodes before applying alcohol to it with a cotton swab. Fearing there might be other creatures, he applied it seven or eight times before stopping.
"That's good, whatever it is, it's doomed." He didn't dare wash it with the spiritual spring water, fearing that the unknown creature would absorb its power and grow stronger. Clearly, the spiritual spring water isn't omnipotent.
However, when these external aids are unavailable, the spiritual spring water is still quite effective. Otherwise, Shen Yanming wouldn't have dared to leave his wound untreated, thinking that drinking some spiritual spring water would cure it.
After bandaging the wound, Shen Yanming went to the bedroom. He quietly sat down on the edge of the bed, unwrapped the gauze from Nuannuan's body, and carefully examined the wound with tweezers.
Nuannuan seemed to feel pain, frowning slightly, but didn't wake up. Shen Yanming was too busy checking the wound for threadworms to notice. Bi Qiaoan did see it, but she didn't dare speak, afraid of disturbing Shen Yanming.
A few minutes later, Shen Yanming breathed a sigh of relief: "Thank goodness, there's nothing there. I'll disinfect Nuannuan again, and then I should be able to relax." If all else fails, the father and daughter can take some insecticide.
Bi Qiaoan nodded and sat down on the other side of the bed. She touched An'an's warm forehead; sure enough, she had a fever.
"What's wrong?" Shen Yanming noticed Bi Qiaoan's actions and asked, puzzled.
"He has a fever!"
Shen Yanming quickly tried it, and sure enough, it was hot.
I quickly retrieved the prepared herbal medicine from the storage area and fed it to the baby in a bottle to warm it up. Thankfully, the baby knew how to swallow, and even though it was bitter, he didn't spit it out.
Bi Qiaoan was heartbroken, but she couldn't blame anyone. That's how it is in the face of disaster; they were already very lucky to have survived.
After giving An'an his medicine, the couple checked on him. They were relieved to see that he didn't have a fever.
What they didn't know was that An'an was having a nightmare. He dreamt that the sea was chasing him, and his parents weren't around, so his little legs would kick every now and then, and his little brows were tightly furrowed.
“Don’t be afraid, baby, Mommy is here!” Bi Qiaoan was very attentive. When she noticed An’an’s legs twitching, she quickly came over and stroked them repeatedly until An’an’s brows relaxed.
Seeing that her son had recovered, she said, "Use the spiritual spring water to wipe Nuannuan's body; that will help him recover faster."
Shen Yanming nodded and said to Bi Qiaoan, "I'll go up the mountain and get some more. We might need it frequently during this period."
Bi Qiaoan didn't stop him, only telling him, "Go and come back quickly!"
"good!"
After Shen Yanming left, Bi Qiaoan went to the kitchen and heated a pot of spiritual spring water. She poured it into a plastic basin, soaked a towel in it, and repeatedly wiped the uninjured areas of Nuannuan.
Bi Qiaoan kept comforting her, "Nuan Nuan, don't be afraid, Mommy's here." She thought that her daughter's fever was probably due to being soaked in seawater, but also because she was frightened.
Sure enough, after Bi Qiaoan finished speaking, Nuannuan's brows relaxed considerably. Bi Qiaoan continued her efforts, saying many more words of concern.
An hour later, Nuannuan's fever finally subsided. Bi Qiaoan breathed a sigh of relief, exhausted and covered in sweat. She tucked the two children in and left the bedroom. She planned to use the time to prepare some food to store.
Bi Qiaoan thought for a moment and realized that it wouldn't be convenient to take out rice and noodles in this environment. So she thought of steamed buns. As long as the fillings were different, they could change the flavors frequently.
So I started preparing the dough and then made the fillings. Besides the traditional pork and scallion, potato noodles, and chives and eggs, there were also more unique options like spicy eggplant, Mapo tofu, shiitake mushroom and chicken, and braised pork. Basically, I made whatever came to mind.
Bi Qiaoan was busy in the kitchen, while Shen Yanming on the mountain was finally ready to go down with the help of his assistants.
Considering that it would be inconvenient for him and his wife to enter the space for a long time to come, they brought more plastic buckets up the mountain.
He consulted with the tiger, leopard, and black bear brothers, promising to give them all the fruit from the fields for a period of time. This earned him cheers from the animals, who lined up to go to Lingquan Lake to serve as Shen Yanming's transport vehicle.
Actually, Comrade Shen was worried that after being told there was a big lake here, they might come here to bathe or drink water.
To everyone's surprise, they didn't even glance at it, showing utter disdain.
Shen Yanming raised an eyebrow, feeling as if he had discovered some secret. What might be incredibly precious spiritual spring water to them was nothing to sentient animals.
However, he didn't mind, as he was just a mortal and probably couldn't withstand such concentrated spiritual energy. So he suppressed his doubts, filled the water containers, hung them on the animals, and then descended the mountain in a long, imposing procession.
